There's a touch of ambiguity in Face Chaos... "When cast upon a single fighter, that person stands their ground and fights any Chaotic foe they face, even if they would have ordinarily chosen to flee." What about tactical withdrawals to regroup, get reinforcements, etc? It's not actually "fleeing".

Agreed. The gift is only the stat increase, not both the increase *and* a potential increase. It's Chaos... Hard-coded rules about maximums are for losers!

Nothing to do with the gods. Tithes are all local community stuff! Gods only notice what you're doing when you try to interact with them (worship, Rune Spells etc)

However, there's a nice thread in the Glorantha section about a Humakti and ZZ in the same party... So, if your party consists of a mixed bag of people who just met to get a job done, then it's probably not a good spell to be using 😛

I don't think they'd drop the shield, unless it gets in the way... Large shields, possibly. Small shields might just hang around for the extra armour on the other arm... (That's one thing I liked about Combat Styles... If you've always trained with a shield, you feel awfully naked and exposed without one)

Yeah, that's why the "almost" is there... It's slightly unfortunate that the only full writeup for Trance spells is a missile weapon I do think that with melee weapons, parrying will be considered part of the trance - for that (type of) weapon only!

The guy who actually writes up the rules has,already stated quite clearly that it will be the official ruling, and that the next version of all weapon Trance spells will be a trance, copying (almost verbatim - just change the weapons) the Arrow Trance from Bestiary: Arrow Trance 1 Point Self, Temporal, Nonstackable This allows the user to merge their consciousness with their bow, doubling their bow skill rating. The user enters a trance in which the only things that exist are bow and targets. The user moves only to get a clear shot or find another target. The user can use no other weapon and cannot parry nor use the bow as a club. Even if engaged in melee, the user will fire an arrow at their opponent. While entranced, the user may cast only bow-related magic (Multimissile, Speedart, etc.) to the exclusion of all other magic, including healing (except that the user can heal their elf bow if it is damaged). If the battle ends before the spell expires, the user will stand at rest and wait for new targets. This is not a Berserker spell; the user knows who their friends and enemies are. So, Earth Shield is of no use here (until you Heroquest and get a pass on that). Alternatively, get a Shield Trance spell, or Earth Sword/Axe spell

Bypass "Lightbringer", and go straight to Storm (or other) pantheon... Much better results! Technically, you'd get over 10x CHA... however, tithing becomes a real shit! (Also, Chalana Arroy doesn't mix well with many of the others)

RAW, she won't be using a shield while the Axe Trance is up. That's part of the point of the trance. I see no reason why the Allied Spirit would be affected. Sure they're connected, but not to that extent. There'd be FAAARRRRR too much munchkinnery if you allowed that!

I had a revelation! As I was writing my above post, I was going to say that I don't see rape as Chaotic, only evil. Until it dawned on.me that it's a corruption of the Fertility Rune (as well as the Man Rune). I'm still not getting why murder gets a free pass, let alone genocide! (And yet, some think siccing disease spirits on your enemy is....)

While probably true, there's no reason why it couldn't have been made internally consistent (if you're suggesting it's not). Which is basically to say, this thread is something that shouldn't have needed to exist, because it was properly addressed in canonical writings.

A) fine, I can live with that (barely). B&C) don't work, because the only difference between the bronze cuirass and the copper cuirass is the metal and thinness. Size and shape will be the same. So, there ought to be no change in bulkiness or "bother". Generic question - is bronze.normally about 25% stronger than pure copper? (IANAM - M obviously for Metallurgist)

I'd agree... Except that the ENC is half. Not 90%. Not 76%. But 50%. You can obviously hammer out a bronze cuirass that has half ENC as well... You just get half the armour value... The magic is contradicting the math... As @gochie said, "logically.. ".
