  1. You're illuminated??? I'd say - the illuminate fully understands where the fear comes from, and thus is no.longer afraid.
  2. I'm surprised no-one has bothered to tackle this. Sorry it's me who's going to start, because it would be here, unprofessional, player opinion... Firstly, yes to as many MPs you can dump into it, rather than having to learn higher levels of the spell. I base this on - relative uselessness of a 1-pt spell; and the wording. Secondly, it would make sense that the Variable option allows for multiple entities... But that's only in consideration of the above making the Variable tag mean something else. (As well as that Summon Spirit Dog 4 thing from somewhere) Active... I'm uncertain. It makes sense that it needs concentration for the spell itself to finally summon the entity to where you are (I'd suggest non-instantaneous), but after it arrives it stays (visible??) for the regular 2 minutes of a Spirit Magic spell. And thus, no.concentration required. (Obviously, others may suggest that you need to concentrate to keep the spirit local and not have *the option* of leaving.... Which responds to your bit about dropping concentration as a way of removing hostile spirits) Dispel... Perhaps the spirit is forced back to the spirit plane? Perhaps it's useless altogether once the spirit arrives? (Given we have Dismiss Elemental, the latter is plausible). I can't see any reason you couldn't get into spirit combat with it, especially if it's hostile. If it's not hostile, you'll have a problem if you can't Control it, or have Spiritspeech... What gestures do spirits consider rude enough to want to attack you after being neutral or friendly?? If we assume that the spirit is temporarily tied to the summoning location, and doesn't become visible, then the summoner is going to need some way to see/perceive it. I miss the Ritual skill....
  3. Since you (apparently???) need 18 POW to become a God Talker (I'd lower that... 15?), it changes the POW gain from 15% to 35%... So, I don't understand most of your post. One other *possible* advantage might be that having a lower POW doesn't lose the GT status, as it does for Priests. (I'd suggest Priests drop to GT status... I'm not finding the "leave of absence" section )
  4. In Notchet? I don't think such a place exists... even slaves and trollkin have magic. (Yes, I do believe you were being sarcastic....)
  5. There should be no logical reason for a Humakti to perceive all the civilians in Notchet as enemies. Such an act would be dishonorable. (Looking at you, Anakin!) I did notice the jump from the Berserk to the Sword Trance a few posts back... So, which one do you want?
  6. More likely that a Stormbully wants it off the ZZ, and use the Issaries as the middle merchant. But Gloranthas are different...
  7. Possibly. Depends on how you read those paragraphs... And the GM. It's not clear that you can't earn more than one! (We are being egregious, remember!)
  8. I don't think this has been mentioned in this thread (at least a search didn't find it, and I'm not going through 30 pages to check!!!) Rune Masters, e.g. God Talkers, get a POW gain roll for every Holy Day service they help with. Issaries (and Ernalda, and soon to be corrected, Orlanth) have a Holy Day every week... So, easy POW gain roll every week, at +20%. For extra munchkinnery, you can be a God Talker (or higher) of multiple cults (such as all 3 mentioned above), so theoretically multiple weekly POW gain rolls!
  9. Mine would vary. Any dedicated and passionate archer is going to prefer using their bow. If they run out of arrows, it's questionable if they'd use it in melee (although, I'd say it counts as having a high loyalty rating... And Fanaticism doesn't make you an idiot... Berserk might)
  10. That's a rhetorical question, right...???
  11. I think we've already got that one 😛
  12. Fair enough... I have enough trouble remembering what day it is 😛however, obviously we need such a spell! (And formatting on phone sucks!!!)
  13. Ok. Well, possible claims of God Learnerism... Or even just atheism. I.E., if an LM sorcerer makes the spell - all good! If it's an ancient manuscript, maybe not. But, that might be heading in a different direction than your intent.
  14. P389/390 If a teacher teaches, no roll. If it's a document, roll R/W language, then INT x 3.
  15. I'll point out the ambiguity in the write-up... First it says "These abilities can be used against multiple targets by spending additional points of POW"... then says "Each point of POW spent lets the wyter use the ability on an additional five members of the community." (My emphasis) I suspect this is intentional because that's what Wyters are all about, and so you wouldn't get that Sever Spirit against (so many) multiple targets. Buffs - yes. Combat - no.
  16. Bring back Great Parry! IIRC, BG Rune Spell that was +10% per MP added, and did something to improve the shield as well...
  17. Not if if it's the "research" variant. If it's the "found a teacher who already knows", then yes. If a teacher teaches, learning success is automatic (and possibly expensive). If researched from parchment, then rolls (possibly with low success) are involved (especially if written in an old or dead language!)
  18. I don't think the reason should be relevant. Climbing a tree should lead to a tick, unless it's a really easy tree to climb. It's all in the experience bag! Awesome! Half the time they're lacking a weapon... Terrible combat idea! Much smarter to start and finish each fight with the same weapon, but alter for each fight.
  19. Not if you can command the spirit... Difficult for the time required by most, but sorcerers can easily pull it off, as well as the Shaman with their Spell Extensions.
  20. Farming takes commitment, tenacity, patience, dedication, stubbornness even.
  21. Farming takes commitment, tenacity, patience, dedication, stubbornness even.
  22. Except... Runic Affinity should affect your personality. Being "stormy" is not a good trait for a farmer.
  23. I believe someone has over-estimated the amount of POW, and thus RPs in the community. Sure, average POW is 10-11, which would be about 50% chance to increase... But if ppl are increasing, then the increase chance lowers. So, 15 POW give a 30%, 18 POW gives 15%. Another thing not mentioned (recently) is Rune Affinity, which I doubt will be really high for most people. A little irrelevant, due to the ability to just re-cast if it fails. But, Orlanthi throwing around Lightning or Thunderbolt... Only half the time !
  24. That's my point... Just because a book doesn't have it listed doesn't mean it doesn't exist. PCs are going to make up spells.. but the new spell.could be seen as awesome (and the PC amazing), or could be "ah yeah thanks, but we've already got that!"
