  1. Don't be afraid to keep things simple. As GM you have to do most of the hard work, so cut yourself some slack. When creating adversaries for your players don't be afraid if they're underpowered at first. Better that the player characters survive combat and you can now gauge better how much punishment they can take.
  2. Well thats put a damper on any upcoming BRP superheroic monographs!
  3. Nice to see eric71 answering a query about when his monograph might be published by Chaosium, since he ignored me when I asked.
  4. Give the players what they want. But make the them work for it. They will enjoy it. Trust me.
  5. The Malleus Monstrorum ( a supplement for Call of Cthulhu) has stats for Deep One shark hybrids, and werewolves in it. Or you could peruse Rome and find the Kynoprosopoi, dog headed men, which are pretty much wolf men. Runequest Land of the Ninja has stats for the Kojin, shark headed men. As for half giant stats the Cercopes or Kallikantzari stats in Cthulhu Invictus might do. Some non humanoid octopus men appear in the old Stormbringer supplement Rogue Mistress.
  6. The Venator, Benedictor and Warhounds (The Enslaved) from the Mongoose RQ Monsters II supplement are magically created constructs.
  7. Eric71, if you can't be bothered to answer my question about when Operation Ulysses is going to be out, then why should I be bothered with getting a copy?
  8. Good to see you back again Bleddyn. I hope that you get well quickly and have the energy to show us some more gusto and enthusiasm.
  9. Merry midwinter partying and a happy new year thingy too!.

Nice artwork, Solardog. Merry Yithmas by the way;D
  11. Though its set in 1830s France the soul stealing metal masked villain on this looks, and acts, weird enough to put in an AotC scenario.
  12. Reading about what happened to Keith Herber and to Nick's daughter, Megan, was depressing. I hope your daughter pulls through Nick.
  13. I'll check them out. I'm always interested in travellers' photos of locations I'll never get to go to.
  14. Does the big BRP book give you the rules you want for running superhero adventures, or are you dissatisfied with them? Can a superhero game be run using all the many different types of rules (such as Sorcery, magic and Mutations)and generating superheroes have some kind of game balance? If not then why not? Do we need a new version of the Superworld boxed set with streamlined rules or is the big BRP book sufficient?
  15. So you're basically saying that the handicaps and power mods aren't fit for purpose if you're running a proper superhero game?
  16. All supplements lead to Rome. IMO it is the best BRP supplement so far. Any supplement that teaches you how to swear in Latin has got to be good!
  17. Good luck with the project LT. Lets hope that Chaosium sort out their security problem so that we can order Merchant's scale in the dead tree version.
  18. No worries. I highly recommend BRP Rome, its awesome.
  19. I'd like to reduce "redunancy" further to make the word "redunacy". It would mean "going overboard regarding redundancy". Who says that failing a language roll can't lead to being creative.
  20. If newts newtle and toddlers waddle, then which way is Ossaway?
  21. This thread has meandered along various paths, so a little more variation will probably keep things interesting.
  22. Redunancy? Don't you mean redundancy? Temporal (and spelling) anomalies aside, I wish the whole venture good luck and hyperspeed. By the way Newt, I always thought it was "toodle pip".
  23. The word on the interstellar grapevine is that it has been delayed somewhere in hyperspace till next year, if anyone is interested ( or are you just being "anal"?).
