  1. Quite good translator. This one, I buy (the motto, not the translator). Runequestement votre, Kloster
  2. no mail, but a link that points to : gelweo at aol dot com for giving feedback. Runequestement votre, Kloster
  3. For RQ, spoken language can get an experience check, and written can not, but as always, the GM has final says of when a character gets a check or not (at least, this is the way we play it ... for the GM part). Runequestement votre, Kloster
  4. Lead shot, like the ones used by Rhodian slingers, were about half the size of the fist. Stones used for sling were about the size of the fist. I don't know for the clay 'special ammunitions'. Runequestement votre, Kloster

  6. A lead ball, about half the size of the fist. Runequestement votre, Kloster
  7. Bladesharp 4 was the max value for RQ II. There is no max value for RQ III, but bladesharp 4 is a standard spell for combat oriented cults (like Humakt). Bladesharp 6 is quite common for mid-level members of such cults. Runequestement votre, Kloster
  8. As far as I remember, correct. Runequestement votre, Kloster
  9. Same for us. I've even seen Humakti with bladesharp 10. The max case I've seen is a bladesharp 10 matrix on an iron broadsword, with a magic point matrix, 2 linked power spirits with a condition to refuel the 10 point magic point matrix and a condition to activate when the owner wields the sword and says "Humakt, give me power". He thus does not need to wait for 10 SR as enchantments with conditions activate instantly. With that kind of enchantments, armoring enchantment is both a necessity and a little light with it's high pow cost. Runequestement votre, Kloster
  10. Absolutely true. Runequestement votre, Kloster
  11. The rules incontestably allowed it, and although it was not the most efficient efficiency to POW ratio (SHIELD was far better), almost all our players were / are using it, especially mine (I tend to play sorcerers). Runequestement votre, Kloster
  12. I still got it (in french), but the file is copyrighted, so I don't know if I can send it. Runequestement votre, Kloster
  13. Bloodlust, by Croc, G.E.Rane and Stéphane Bura (currently, by Asmodée Editions). Runequestement votre, Kloster
  14. Tigres Volants is much fun (OK, I am partial because the author is a friend of mine). Older (1.5 and 2.1 in my case) versions are clearly BRP in origin. The current published version has been streamlined, with D20 instead of D100. Runequestement votre, Kloster P.S. Don't tell to Alias (the author) that he is french. He is Swiss, proud of it and can be seen from the texts.
  15. Correct on both points. Runequestement votre, Kloster
  16. You're correct in your RQ memories. Your correct in your historical memories, although the hand held kite were quite rare because of weight of the metal used to reinforce the perimeter. I like your ideas, but would add (in my mind) too much complexity for the realism gain. Same for me. More intuitive, no table/matrix. As simple in it's resolution. Runequestement votre, Kloster
  17. This is because the Hoplon was designed to be used in mass phalanx combat. In the Macedonian phalanx, the shield was not maneuverable because it was fixed to the left arm AND to the shoulder, in order to leave the left hand help to hold the Sarissa (long pike). Any shield, whateve it's size, is unwieldy, but it is a matter of usage, not of shape nor weight. The hoplitic phalanx was using the shield as an almost offensive weapon, with ranks pushing toward the ennemy to crush them an break their line, which means it does not need to be very maneuverable. IIRC, the scutum, wether oval or rectangular, has never been strapped, but was held in the left hand by an horizontal handle, placed at the middle height of the semi-circular shield, just behind the metal boss. It was not very heavy, although large, and quite easy to maneuver. It was used both in mass combat (by the legions) and in individual combat (by some gladiators), offensively and defensively, to block ant to parry (and also to protect versus ranged weapons). I like number 1 and 2, much less the others, but this is a nice try. Runequestement votre, Kloster
  19. My personal preference goest to 5-6 players. Our current RQ3 campaign has currently 10 players, but most sessions have only around 6 players, as age and family considerations are taking their toll. Runequestement votre, Kloster
  20. Some players complain having to divide by 5 (for specials), others calculate cubic root on the fly!!! That's life. Apart to that, and not being a demolition expert, the rule I've learned in the army (were I was briefly exposed to explosives usage) was roughly doubling the damage for increasing the charge by a factor 8 to 10 (depending on the type of charge and what was to be blown). This is why it is more useful to use several small charges than 1 big. Runequestement votre, Kloster
  21. If your score is below 100%, true. If it is over 100%, it is not. Runequestement votre, Kloster
  22. Complete agreement here. Ditto. Runequestement votre, Kloster
  23. I would say not (completely) true for Champions/Hero, because characters (with their hit points and armor) can almost be killed only by killing attacks, but standard humans are killed in 1 shot by the average result of a beginning character standard attack. Runequestement votre, Kloster
  24. I know there has been several DC games. The only one I have (and have played) is the one from Mayfair, with it's pure logarythmic system (+1 equals a doubling in efficiency). Runequestement votre, Kloster
  25. Those spot rules can come close, but I see 2 problems: - In All Golden and silver age, and most bronze age comics, the non lethal combat is the rule, not the exception, and if you want to model those genre, the rules should show this. - As Nightshade explained, players tend to stay simple and will probably NOT use those spot rules. I am not asking for a massive rule change to the power systems. I'm 'only' saying the superpower section has to be extended to better cover the vast range of powers used by supers in the comics, and the ratio of efficiency between the different power systems has to be reconsidered. I should have added 'or the other (=non super powers) systems should be ignored as non genre'. No, I don't think so. BRP has a distinctive feeling and will (and should) not be a wannabe of anything. By the way, I don't know MEGS. True. Good luck and have a good time. I have used it (in the days of WoW, then Superworld boxed set). I agree there is value in the power system, and in addition to this, it works. No comments about the skill system, because I think BRP has the best, bar none. No comments on the rest. As already pointed, different people, different views (This one is not mine, but is valid), different choices. Runequestement votre, Kloster
