I agree with you on the kopis/scimitar point. I have quite some experience fighting with swords and spears and such, in a sporting context. Thus, this is my way of doing things based my experience. 1H sword 2H sword Rapier Knife/dagger axe (warhammers and falcatta) 1H curved swords 2H Polearms 1H polearms 1H blunt 2H blunt and to make matters worse I allow some skills to be used with different weapons. You can use your 1H sword skill for a dagger at -20, forexample. Thats just how I roll

My group have a trickster with passion: Honour -
More outlaws! Belphas Redhands, the Tarshite Humakt-messiah (self-declared) The hithertoo unnamed Earth Witch from the sartar Sun county and Penaldrin the rider who murdered his half-brother over a horse. and stole the horse.

Hot diggity! That's cool! -
dagger-axes were it use as cavalry weapons in china. Later, we also see steppe cultures use spears with hooks on them. I dont know which came first but I THINK it was the daggeraxe. the Dax?

Hm, I think you are on to something. I am thinking of the event in KoDP where two strangers approach the clan asking for shelter and you can ask for someone to sponsor them as guests (or take them as guests in the chiefs household) and later you can adopt them (if you offered to adopt them in the first meeting).

Tattooed Pure Horse People. I like to go the Sig Ages route and have them be solarly pure. Differentiates them more from Sartarites

russians too used a sort of glaive from horseback around 16-17th century, I believe it was.

thats why we have woad. (for humans anyhow, since the book of heortling mythology specifies that heler is never depicted holding a weapon to show that the blue skin is not woad) -
speaking of, anyone know the imports/exports of duckton?

Lots of good suggestions here! Since it has come up a lot. I will give some more info about the PC's and the game. - the reason for being an outlaw is a part of character generation, so far we have a colymar kinslayer, a sun dome woman who practiced shamanism, a guy who was born into outlawry and a stormbull who killed his family. -They are camped out in the forest between Rich Post and the Feyghost woods. -There is a larger group of hardcore bandits in the near-ish Alric's fort. They either would not accept anyone from the PC group or the PC's would not want to be part of them. -There are 9 "non-combatant" NPC outlaws in the gang, two of which are kids, and one elderly professional outlaw who the rest of the group more or less coalesced around. -Magic is DEFINETIVELY a big problem. They cannot replenish their rune points and cannot participate in sacred time rituals. Unless they find a friendly community, or make friends with some. At one point, I want to have them score a nice haul like a caravan or something, only for a band of bigger, meaner and rested Gagarthi bandits to come and calmly state that they will be taking it. If the Gagarthi are impressed by the PC's they may offer some of them to come and try initiating into the cult...

I would like to leave that ip to the players, but so far all takers have made characters that are no wprse than a 4 on the 1-10 scale of assholeness. So I think they will be leaning more towards being merry men, specially after the lunars invade, but before that I would like to focus on them having to survive.

I have been working on an idea for a west-marches style game about a small group of outlaws in the woods (set 1 year before the Lunars invade Sartar) and I wanted to pick the hivemind for ideas. What adventures do you think these outlaws could have? (addendum: they will be living in the unnamed woods just south of the feyghost forest.)

pretty sure the nunchuck would drastically improve both those myths

In my game, when the players did the heroquest for "I fought WE won" I just combined all the characters into one, so it was always the highest stat/ability among the three that was rolled. and they got 3 attacks with 3 different weapons each round. dUnno if this ADDS anything to the conversation but

Come to think of it, do we have any detailed, "canon" source as to the BG and Eurmal connection? I can only recall second hand sources. -
