Ian A. Thomson
VOL. 04 PDF UPDATED FOR DOWNLOAD: The revised PDF of Vol. 04 (The Good, the Bad & the Rowdy) has just gone up on Drivethru Gratitude once again to the several proofers for the first and second rounds. (Plus all the other volunteers/collaborators). I'll keep on saying this until the project is done: There's no way I could create this series without your help. "Thank you so much!" Here's the change notes: "Updated cover, very many small corrections made, several middling level errors fixed, and three doozie mistakes rewritten." Yes, there were a few big 'Doh!" moments there, including a couple of scenario bits that made no sense I'm glad I included the note in the front of the first version for people to wait until the update. I imagine there's probably still a bunch or minor errors in there, but yes, hopefully not so many and not major Edited January 30 by Ian A. Ian A. Thomson
UPDATE: The next series release will be a special edition. Probably completed by the end of Feb (Vol. 04A) Vol. 05 is powering along, but still a LOT of editing and layout to do - so more likely April My other gaming project is finally fully complete and online, and most likely my last ever DERPG release as these are the last of the completed pieces in my archive: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/469293/On-the-High-Road-to-Kaiin 5 1 Quote ------------------------------------ Former Issaries Inc. If you are asking if there are any more in note form waiting to be upgraded then no, that's all now. The archive is empty I did just go and check the Pelgrane Press website, and there are multiple broken links on my pages, so i tracked them all and sent them the details in the hopes they will fix them These include broken links to three free downloads: 'The Guide to Old Romarth', the 'Guide to Saskervoy Town' and the map of the 'Saskervoy Reach'. So there are technically these three final pieces still to appear. (I sent them the files to add back in) 1 Quote ------------------------------------ Former Issaries Inc. Ian A. Thomson
UPDATE Fabian still hasn't received the POD of Vol. 04 to check, but fingers crossed for any day now The next Volume (4A - a special edition) of the P&BRC:DC series should be fully complete within 1-2 weeks After a marathon bunch of hours over the last few days, all that is left to complete now is the second half of a new scenario Otherwise it's all done! Cover revised, back cover started and finished today Most of the proofing is even done! :) Thanks once again to all the collaborators, without whom this would never have been completed, let alone completed this month!! UPDATE 21 MARCH I have failed in the goal of getting the Strangers supplement completed before I go away for 2 weeks tomorrow I still have a few hrs of work on the final scenario to do (the plan is now complete, I've just got to fill it in), and four small illustrative segments still remain to be returned from the awesome collaborators. Positive spin is that the book is 98% done now, and so should be completed within a few days when I return Edited March 21 by Ian A. Ian A. Thomson
VOL. 04 (Old Pavis II: 'The Good, the Bad & the Rowdy') is ALMOST out in POD!! :) The one time that a review copy was horrendously delayed and we just went for it (since all previous volumes were perfect), there's an error Tiny, and almost insignificant, but the '4' was missed off the spine, and none of us spotted it The rest of the book is great, all super-duper, so those who already have a POD ordered will just need to carefully use a permanent marker or some manner of transfer to draw it neatly on the side Apologies for any inconvenience. Consider it a collector's item, and let us know if you got one of these and we'll tee you up with some kind of bonus item for your trouble! Best estimate is 3 weeks from now (second week of April) for the POD version of Vol. 04 with the '4' restored to its rightful place on the spine Edited March 21 by Ian A. The nearest example of a ritual combat from a rival cult comes from Trollpak p99 Quote The high holy day of the [Zorak Zoran] cult is Darkday of Death week of Dark season. On that day, cultists like to challenge lone Humakti to single combat and then gang up on him for an easy kill.

It is the biggest bit - a multi-part new scenario, and has taken forever. But I've now finally reached and begun the two-part finale Two more large maps needed for it, and awesome people are currently working on these If I am lucky, the scenario will be finished within 2-3 days, then the last parts will need a proof and the whole scenario will need a read-through (I have also asked one of the proofers if they are up for that. EDIT - they have said yes.) Everything else in 4A is already laid-out and proofed, so the whole thing is pretty close to done Edited April 21 by Ian A. Ian A. Thomson
Looking for some references online, I stumbled onto this through a few different steps. Having studied media, I can confirm that this Blue Peter piece has a massive and misleading bias to make the experience seem a LOT more 'nerdy' and a lot less social and atmospheric than it actually was. It was also a lot more serious, with training on how not to actually hurt people (which you could do with any of the fake weapons). We always left with bruises after a weekend. And the system they used here was inspired by RuneQuest! In any case, it was great to see the place again. :) I can still remember the first intro adventure with (much larger numbers than usual for the scenarios) and how terrifying it was. Of the 40 or so of us involved in that one, only two of us escaped from the 'fait accompli' 'kill everyone' mass ambush at the end. As soon as dozens of orcs charged out of all the courtyard doorways I screamed and ran like a rocket, dodging and weaving all the way. Only me and the guy who was already leading at the front managed to get away over the drawbridge. Afterwards my friends (who were all slaughtered by the orcs) were all like: "Dam you were so fast!" (I was a runner at school sports.) Oh yeh, and I remember once when I was made rearguard for a party of 12 and was at the bottom of a spiral stair with everyone else in a line up the stairs and the guy at the top trying to pick a lock. I remember looking at all the doors in the wide dark corridor I was watching and thinking that the worst thing that could happen (since I was effectively alone) was for a load of badguys to rush out of one of the doors. And of course they did. Nothing remotely even vaguely like real combat of course, but I'm a method actor and fought them off like a lunatic for several minutes until the upper door was opened and we could back away. In the pause upstairs the GM checked me for wounds (different coloured paint on the enemy weapons) and said; "How the **** did you not get hit in all that?" Yup, method acting! :) Raaaaargh! #Conaneatyaheartout Its now been converted to a posh hotel and wedding venue apparently. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treasure_Trap And a much better clip - in terms of atmosphere - with Ben Elton(!) here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awrXjGKcth8 Edited May 7 by Ian A. Ian A. Thomson
The Curse of the Copper Condor? Has anyone who reads this played or GM'd this scenario from Vol. 4? I am interested because its one of the small number of completely brand new scenarios I am writing for the series, and it definitely fits into the category of writing the kind of adventure I would have loved to have played an Adventurer in :) So I'm hoping it's as unpredictable and fun as intended If anyone has, and responds, please don't include spoilers :) Quote ------------------------------------ Former Issaries Inc.
