Jae
Apart from Advanced Sorcery and the forthcoming Horsechester adventure book, the Magic World seems to have very little official books for it. I'm guessing that means either the players are great at creating original adventures or adapting existing material. Looking over the comments in the threads, there are some products that lend themselves more to Magic World than others. I'd sure love to see a list of which BRP, Monograms and other publisher material are a natural fit for the system and which ones are pretty good with some modifications. tooley1chris
Tis quite true that Magic World is not as high a priority at Chaosium as many of us would like. But, while it is an improved (?) reboot of another system, it is still fairly new. There are, I've heard, quite a few books in the works. But Chaosium isn't Wizards(thank goodness). They have Only so many resources they can concentrate on at once, so it's a bit slower. That said, there is a wealth of other materials that are pretty easy to tweak into the Magic World system. Off the top of my head comes Witchcraft, Blood Tide, of course Advanced Sorcery. Im a bit partial to Dragon Lines if you want an Oriental feel. Rods Classic Fantasy is superb if you want more of an old school D&D feel. Also there are some good fan based projects you can find in the Fantasy Download section on this site as well. I have some free materials you may find useful here: The more people we can get talking about/playing Magic World, the more Chaosium(and others) will provide. Good luck! Chaot
Gah. Interwebs ate my post. Short of it is, check out gods of law by Charles Green. It's available for free and the Virtues system is fantastic. Also, if you track down Corum there are some great magic systems in there. Hexelis
In Search of the Trollslayer and BRP Creatures monograph are a near perfect fit and very affordable.
cjbowser
Also, if you track down Corum there are some great magic systems in there. Corum is very good. And not hard at all to track down. It's ~$12 at Chaosium. http://www.chaosium.com/corum/ Quote Various RPGs I've worked on
BMonroe
In Search of the Trollslayer and BRP Creatures monograph are a near perfect fit and very affordable. The BRP Creatures Monograph (aka the RQIII Creature Book) was included in the core of Magic World. All the monsters are there except for the dinosaurs, and maybe a handful of others. But aside from that, pretty much any official Chaosium BRP-based book is useable with Magic World with little conversion. In my own games I've used material from Mythic Iceland, Enlightened Magic, Malleus Monstrorum, and many other sources. As you've probably gleaned from reading the forum, there are indeed half a dozen or so MW books at Chaosium, just waiting to get into the production queue. Jae
Thanks for the suggestions. I shall be looking into all of them. Corum looks very interesting but sadly doesn't appear to be available in pdf form and I am very excited to hear of the half a dozen MW books in the pipe. It would also be easy to convert some of the old Stormbringer/Elric stuff to MW since that is what it is based on. You can get the Elric core rule book for $3.98 at amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Elric-Fantasy-Roleplaying-Young-Kingdoms/dp/0933635982/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1420662132&sr=8-2&keywords=elric+rpg

Notice how all the sorcery spells from all the supplements ended up in the core rules. Etc. Now, if you want adventures, I -highly- recommend tracking down some of the old Elric!/SB adventure packs. They're all 100% compatible out of the box with MW. Just strip them of the setting bits (if you want) and go to town. I should also mention that almost the entire text of the Elric! rules linked above form the core of Magic World. If you already own MW, there's really no need to get Elric!. 1 Quote Please don't contact me with Chaosium questions. seneschal
From what I've heard about him, what you really need to worry about is Elric getting you.

Stoatbringer
FYI The Savage North, for Open Quest, converts easily enough to Magic World too. http://d101games.com/books/openquest/the-savage-north/ 1 Quote "Foolish is the king who does not have a personal wizard, and lamentable is the ruler who trusts the wrong mage"
NickMiddleton
FYI The Savage North, for Open Quest, converts easily enough to Magic World too. http://d101games.com/books/openquest/the-savage-north/ Indeed it does - I ran a "heroic BRP" game using the Savage North and a set of options from the BRP "BGB" that looked a lot like Magic World with the RQIII Magic systems tacked on in summer / autumn 2010 and if / when we return to it we are very likely to effectively just use Magic World with those add on magic systems. Cheers, Nick
Mysterioso
I'm a bit partial to Dragon Lines if you want an Oriental feel.... Have you used Magic World to bring Dragon Lines into actual play? Anyone else? If so, please tell.
tooley1chris
I've used a little of Dragon Lines in MW Ala a monk profession. While it may take a little tweaking to bring power levels to where you want them, its pretty much the same with any other materials you convert. Quite a few people praise Blood Tide for MW(and it is great material ) but some of the stunts require a little tweaking to be played in my campaign. Other Chroniclers may think they're fine as is.
