creativehum
Who are the two figures portrayed on the cover? Thanks! Quote "But Pendragon isn’t intended to be historical, just fun. So have fun." -- Greg Stafford
Yelm's Light
You can't tell it since the cover is monochrome, but the warrior is a Vingan (as demonstrated on the color 2nd edition cover, where she's clearly a redhead) and she's fighting a rock lizard. ETA: Duh...nm, I read RQ instead of HQ... Edited October 1, 2017 by Yelm's Light

They also appear on the older Hero Wars cover, though on that they are still waiting to fight. Aside from saying an Orlanthi Wind Lord and a Lunar priestess, I don't believe they are ever identified. According to the gallery on the old Glorantha site, the figures on those books were Orlanth and the Red Goddess.
creativehum
That's the question I'm most interested in -- the gods themselves? Or a Priest and Priestess? I'll go see if I can find that gallery! Quote "But Pendragon isn’t intended to be historical, just fun. So have fun." -- Greg Stafford
David Scott
For those who can't remember Lee Moyer's work: Given what we now know they are just two heroes. as they've clearly not enough arms. My question is how does that electric sword work, just looks ineffective. Quote ----- Search the Glorantha Resource Site: https://wellofdaliath.chaosium.com. creativehum
David, do you know who is portrayed on the Hero Wars/HeroQuest covers? Quote "But Pendragon isn’t intended to be historical, just fun. So have fun." -- Greg Stafford

creativehum
The quality of the image isn't the thing (I don't remember anyone thinking it was Glorantha to them.) But some friends of mine were talking about the cover and we realized we didn't know exactly what it was supposed to portray. Quote "But Pendragon isn’t intended to be historical, just fun. Yelm's Light
Hmm...any idea what fire-based offensive spell that Lunar Priestess is using? Firefist? (Doesn't look much like Ironhand to me.)

No. This is one of those pictures that has nothing to do with Glorantha. Lee Moyers has produced loads of cool art, this just reeks of poor art direction. If the words were missing it could be a piece of fantasy art that would easily be usable alongside the other work that Lee has done on 13th Age.
