  1. From http://designmechanism.freeforums.org/april-2015-news-t1034.html
  2. If I log out, there is a link that says "Report". If I log in there's "Blog This", "MultiQuote" and "Quote". No report button. Edit: There's also "Edit" between "Blog This" and "MultiQuote" if it is my own post.
  3. I see no such button there. It must've been there before, because I remember reporting some spam messages, but the button seems to have disappeared since then.
  4. I'm not aware of any existing products like this for BRP, so yes, I think it sounds very interesting and hope it can get published.
  5. Post as much as you like and can. Details are interesting and let others both mine for ideas and give you constructive feedback. Looking forward to reading more!
  6. I've been meaning to run some Basic Roleplaying Fallout for a long time now, don't know if I'll ever will. But I'm more than interested in hearing more about how your game goes. As for other resources, have you checked out and right here on Basic Roleplaying Central? Also Rubble & Ruin might be useful for ideas.
  7. The D100 SRD is also available on this site It may be based on MRQI but really it is a light version remake of the Chaosium RQ 2nd ed. I think it's an excellent resource for people who want to use classic Gloranthan material but don't have RQ2, whether they want to run them straight or convert to a more recent version of RuneQuest/BRP.
  8. OT: Do you happen to have any notes, stats and other stuff you might want to share? Been meaning to run a game of BRP Fallout for a long time now but I'm lazy and would like it if somebody already did the work for me.
  9. Your all-night grocery store sells all those things? Wow. I'll be sure to visit if I'm ever in the neighbourhood.
  10. OR you could get it from Chaosium, unused for $12.47.
  11. Seems like spreadsheets are the way to go. Ten years before I made a custom character sheet for RQIII with a piece corporate desktop publishing software at the universtity. The sheet inluded all the important stuff missing from the official version. Ten years after I made a new version with OpenOffice(.org) Calc that calculates all the fiddly bits automatically. Page One inludes the stuff on the official and then some in a more concise manner. Skills, stats, hit locations and such. On my sheet page two has all my spells (I play the only magic user in our group). Sheet two has all my alchemical recipies and ingridients, including prices. I would love to add calculations on how much money we would need to spend to make a certain amount of such-and-such potion, but unfortunately I'm not that good of a programmer. My co-players have propably modified their sheets to fit their liking somewhat. We use four different operating systems in - I think - six different versions, so interoperability is important. Thankfully OpenOffice and Libreoffice are Free Software and cross platform. Would love to post empty sheet, but ... language (Not English).
  12. There's this in the downloads section here:
  13. There's some problem with RSS/Atom feeds like http://basicroleplaying.org/rss/blog/. When I view them with my web browser, they seem to work fine but when I try to access them with my feed reader application (Icedove a.k.a. Mozilla Thunderbird) I get: " This RSS feed has been disallowed". Same thing with W3C Feed Validator. The Last 10 Submissions RSS Feed seems to work fine however. Also, there no longer seems to be a general "New Posts" feed. This seems to be a feature of the new Invision Power Board forum so may be an intentional (lack of a) feature. For those who haven't noticed, the feeds are accessible from the red button on the bottom left of the page. Most of the feeds listed are not related to Basic Roleplaying Central but rather Invision Power Board.
  14. 2nd ed HeroQuest has been around for years. Do you mean HeroQuest: Glorantha?
  15. BGB uses Blackjack method by default (Best degree wins, high roll wins) but in MW best degree wins, same degree results in standoff regardless of die results. The "succeed by how much" is an option in the BGB.

    How to get RQ6?

You can get it directly from the publisher.
  17. In RQ2/D100II SRD there are actually twelve (12) strike ranks. In was lowered to 10 in RQ3.
  18. There's a gallery right here: http://basicroleplaying.org/gallery/. Seems to me you can just upload the images there.
  19. Well, I converted the into ePub for reading on the e-reader and it worked fine. The only problem was having to zoom out to fit some larger tables on the small screen. Sure, the device isn't very handy for referencing the book, but for reading its much better than a regular computer screen. But yes, maybe there is little added value for publishers in making an ePub-version. For me this problem would also be solved if PDFs had text flow information, like columns in a way that conversion would be possible. Since this is seldom the case, I have even less incentive to buy electronic books.
  20. One thing I forgot to mention was that I wish more publishers would publish their work in ePub format in addition to PDF. I would be easier to read on a small, cheap e-book reader that I happen to own, that doesn't do PDF very well, i.e. does not re-flow the text from two colums to be more readable on a small, narrow e-ink screen. PDF as a format is mostly designed for print, after all.
  21. Hard copy for me. I seldom buy electronic versions, even though they're nice to have. I like The Design Mechanism's policy of including the PDF in the price. Best of both worlds!
  22. No problems here. Maybe the trouble is in Max_Writer's computer setup, hmm? Perhaps a more detailed description of the problem would shed some light into it.
  23. Isn't that what the "View New Content" page is for? Not that you can filter content using the selection on the left. To facilitate filtering you can mark threads as being followed by you.
  24. The Moon Design forums seem to be working now, but in a new Address: http://www.glorantha.com/bbpress/
  25. Our Dragon Age campaign uses RuneQuest 3 as a base but we have ported spells and talents from the video game Dragon Age: Origins on top of it. The stuff needs to be well documented, available and editable so we use a wiki. The wiki also contains the basic mechanics of RQ including an expanded resistance table (because characteristics grow beyond normal RQ standards), success level table (up to skill 212), hit points / location for humanoids table etc. Works well for us and I'd recommend a wiki for others who need to document house rules etc. in a clear and accessible manner.
