  1. Are you meaning that one of your players will choose to be a philosopher and join what according to the Guide, is another school of Malkionism? Rather than one of the other occupations?
  2. My follow on question is - does he care?
  3. You may need to be more epic 🙂
  4. Yes, this is what they pull up with the capstan, see GtG pages 88, 89, 90, 502.
  5. Yes!, Jeff gave me permission to post it so here it is:
  6. The guide tell us it’s half a mile each side and a mile tall, so not a cube. See the picture on page 411 of the Guide. Some of it is clearly below ground.
  7. I haven’t looked exactly at that, the guide tells us it’s a mile tall, so that’s 5280 feet tall and it sits on the 1000 ft contour so at a rough guess there’s 3000 feet of it visible.
  8. @Joerg, did you refer to Sun County when writing this? Although not widespread, Belvani has a respectable Singing skill at 66%. (page 14) Dance wasn't really a common skill in RQ3, but I think singing and dancing certainly form a ritual aspect to the society. Herding, well they are going to need this for their small sheep herds, pigs, ducks, impala and sable herds (page 8-9). page 6 Page 4
  9. Okay. The Praxian Sun Dome occupants orginated from the Sartar Sun Dome about 750 years ago (in 877). Their culture is Old Pavic/Yelmalio as per page 126. Use the Sartar cultural values from page 60. I wouldn't fiddle with the values as they apply to the Sartar Sun Dome as well and these values can be altered anyway. They speak a Sartarite dialect, so Heortling as a language is still appropriate although it has elements of Praxian and old Pavic. There's certainly an argument for their second language being Praxian or Old Pavic or Tradetalk Perhaps @MOB would care to comment.
  10. Just a note that the last map’s flood level is at the 3000 foot contour line to reach the foot of Kero Finn. Whilst this is a dramatic event with mythic answers, I suspect the Dyke’s aren’t earth walls 3000 feet tall. I believe other forces will be at work. Orlanth standing with his shield on Esrolia would work. He could be 4000 tall and hold back the waters. He’s loads of arms so could be well braced. Or he could just do a dragon fight thing. Greg’s notes do say however that all the coastal cities were destroyed.
  11. At this stage in RQG publications, yes. Otherwise you need to refer to other possibly oop books. Historically, Sun County in Prax has had Yelmalion Nomad support, but it’s not the case now. The Templars and Nomads lead very separate lives. The Nomad Yelmalions have a slightly different form of the cult with only Light Sons and no temple structure. There is another variation of Yelmalio amongst the Zebra Tribe. Nomad Yelmalions have no need for a Sun Dome temple. There is no mounted infantry amongst the Yelmalion Nomads, everyone is cavalry.
  12. Greg's Hero Wars map for the shows: Flooded the area in map 3 (Sartar, Esrolia). The Janube Valley up to about Eastpoint. The Tanier Valley up to just before Lake Felster. Kralorela & Teshnos up to the Shan Shan Mountains. The Eastern side of the new dwarf land cube The Northern coasts of Pamaltela Not Flooded The Pelorian Basin. East Isles Northern edge of the Dwarf land cube. The Wastes
  13. I totally agree. These maps are to illustrate the scale of what's coming in the Hero Wars, a prompt if you like for GMs and players about the scale of operation. I suspect lots of places will rally some kind of defences, their effectiveness unknown. I don't expect total wipeout, but I suspect 50% population reduction and landscape remodelling. Lots of settlements wont survive, but will be rebuilt afterwards. The Windstop and thaw is a dress rehearsal for the return of the seas.
  14. I was reminded that I hadn't done the third map! So here is the final flood level with a special note. You'll see i've marked a red circle on the map. This place is important as its the separation pain of the Oslir river watershed and the Creek-stream-river watershed. I've chosen not to have the flood spill over at this point. If you want an Oslir catastrophe as part of this event - go ahead, but it doesnt seem to fit here unless you think otherwise.
  15. The Alphabetical Listing of Entries starting page 202 has a small number of the entries hyperlinked, the majority of entries aren’t linked.
  16. There’s nothing stopping a Humakti adventurer starting with bladesharp 4 with one point remaining to spend on something else. It’s not in addition, the other cults that teach free magic don’t work like that.
  17. I just realised that was the list of things that you group didn’t want to play. Are you set on an RQ/BRP game? If not I can recommend an 1930s Black & White style Flash Gordon style (captain proton style voyager as well) SciFi game using HeroQuest. Better still, original Future World to run traveller adventures. I ran Death Station and Chamax Plague (GDW double adventures) using future world.
  18. And a Steve Austin mashup would be good especially if she replaces Jaime Sommers,
  19. I'm interested in how you get round the lunar duck bounty - "no we're ducks in the pay of the empire, we're not the outlaw ducks really, we're on a secret mission for the empire, of course I can't tell you about it, can we go now." Fantasy time - I'd like to see a montage of the group as a @Quackatoa piece done ninja turtle style but ducks, sort of the Coders as badass ducks 🙂 (with apologies to the original artists)
  20. I just want to flag that the Praxian Sun Dome is not full of Praxians, The Praxian Yelmalio cult is based out in the Wastes and is much larger than the sun dome itself. It’s interesting that both cultures dislike foreigners, which may be due in part to an uptake of Praxians historically and their occasional rule. Perhaps @MOB could speculate.
  21. I'd say the section in the Homelands on page 108 pretty much answers it: self-sufficient would answer that for me, and not Orlanthi but Heorling culture/yelmalio - so completely autonomous and have their own cult customs. Other sun domes - Yes as this is the one the others look to. (avoiding pointing you at stuff you might not have)
  22. I'd talk to @Rick Meints about that rick@chaosium.com
  23. Spreading and stacking aren't relevant as neither are mentioned on the RQ PDF page. Final Difference to Pay = Full cost - (RQ coupon*) + (Bestiary coupon*) + (GM Screen coupon*) * if you were sent a coupon from your PDF purchase from Chaosium prior to the books being published. Could @Rick Meints or @MOB correct me if I have misinterpreted. COMPLETELY MADE UP EXAMPLES - I DO NOT KNOW THE REAL COSTS: you pay £60 + P&P = £120 for the slipcase set - £20 RQ coupon - £20 Bestiary coupon - £20 GM Screen coupon or you pay £100 + P&P = £120 for the slipcase set - £20 RQ coupon plus you would get the two pdfs you don't have for free)
  24. Yes! From the bottom of : https://www.chaosium.com/runequest-roleplaying-in-glorantha-pdf/
