  1. Yeah but the Stay Puft Marshmellow Man didnt look like the offspring of a crack whore and a retarded hairless chihuahua doing a crappy Maury Povich impersonation while doing the pee pee dance after eating Taco Bell.
  2. Definately explains why they never showed it in the trailer.
  3. Im fond of at least 2 columns and 3 columns for mass descriptions, such as spells, skills, weapons and so forth. Most rules and what not should be in the 2 column variety for ease of reading and skimming. However, I am also a big fan of artwork in these projects, even in free PDFs. Even the stock art available at drivethrurpg.com is good for this use. Check out Goblinoid Games' Lanyrinth Lord for an example. I find it a more appealing work then OSRIC from Knights and Knaves or even Goblinoid Games' GORE event though I prefer the other systems over old school D&D (Im an old school AD&D fan, especially 2E). On another note, is there a mailing list we can sign up for to be notified when SQ is ready for release?
  4. we need a forum for fighting over forums

  6. I started the thread, its about my book, all good.
  7. Currently the first two adventures are not connected. The third adventure was suppose to lead to Red City a Berlin '61 sourcebook on Moscow. But sense there is still lots of work to be done and much editing/revising to go I may try to merge the last three adventures into a linked story, or at least related. The first adventure will just be a revised version of A Merry Berlin Christmas.
  8. Having recently reread Watchmen, watched the preview trailer over and over and over again and digging out my Mayfair Watchmen Adventures and Sourcebook, I'm interested in doing a pseudo-Watchman style SuperWorld mini-campaign. Im thinking of using a few additional characteristics to allow low level gadget "powers" available to characters withoug giving them excessive access to "world breaker" powers. These characteristics COULD be TECH (Technology) which would be treated as bonus power points to build gadgets (in addition to the normal PP from POW), TRAIN (Training) which simply adds bonus starting skill points, EXP (Experience) which can be used in conjuction with buying powers, skills, gadgets or characteristic increasements. Basically I want to allow low level powers to be emulated by gadgetry and gizmos while allowing mundane gear to still be available as non powers. Anyone have any real ideas on how to do this? On other news. Berlin '61 is doing well from what I can tell. I still have 3 adventures sitting on my desk top that need to be revised, finished and flushed out to make a Berlin '61 adventure anthology and am thinking of writing a Berlin '61 adventure for the Halloween contest. AT-43 conversion is on stand by as I wait to compile some of the background information from the various books currently available.
  9. Thats awesome, I did my College Minor in History of the Middle Ages with a specialization focus on the Crusades. TSR released a wonderful sourcebook for AD&D 2nd Edition about the Crusades. You may find it helpful.
  10. Waiting to do something similar. I like the presentation of Hollow Earth, but the rule system is leaving me unfulfilled. Currently using World of Indiana Jones, Callof Cthlhu 1920s, Cliffhangers 2nd Edition for GURPS and Hollow World Expedition for source material, inspiration and ideas for my 1936 pulp era setting revolving around the Lost Pharaoh. But Im also heavily influenced by Tales of the Gold Monkey.
  11. The principle difference between slashing and thrusting is that slashing gives you a wider arc of hitting, it would be faster and probably recieve a +5 or 10 to hit modifier where thrusting is slower generally (meaing its easier to avoid a thrust as you see the motion easier and its only targeted as one place) put the penetrating nature of the attack has a greater chance for a critical. Most slashes end in flesh wounds while thrusting is more damaging to organs and what not. Bludgeon functions differently as part of the purpose is to just hit the foe, not necessarily penetrate its armour. It causes more push back and knock down effects. Again, going into the different effects of attack methods is probably something more for Role Master, not BRP, but Id take a gander it RM or MERPs weapon categories for ideas.
  12. You could divide weapon skills by style instead of teh broad category of combat and range. You would have 1 handed slashing, 1 handed thrusting, 1 handed bludgeoning, 2 handed, spear and pole weapons. But that may get complicated as some weapons can slash and thrust.
  13. Yeah not my most charming moment. But sometimes you ask a specific question and then get responses that dont follow what you asked in the first place. Just gets my goat from time to time is all. I wrote Berlin '61 with the assistance of some online friends. The genesis and setting were my idea and creation (not that I created Berlin or the year 1961) but had assistance in putting together some of the historical facts and information.
  14. So to answer my initial question this thread started as......NO. So instead of trying to tell me my interest in AT-43 is a waste, you could have just said you dont know of any conversions for AT-43. Dark Heresy is one of my favorites, I run the Unearthed Apocrypha website for it. Starship Troopers is a D20 game and therefore I have no interest in it, have no interest in the setting either. Im glad you have your preferences. Keep them. But I did not ask for someone to try to persuade me out of my interests. Thank you. Now, back to topic. If you know of any conversions for AT-43 to BRP or not, please let me know. If you are interested in doing a RPG based on AT-43 let me know. If you arent, then dont respond.
  15. D20 CoC had conversion rules didnt it? As does D20 Star Wars to D6 Star Wars. With a little tweaking and time you can take D6 stuff to D20 and then D20 to BRP.
  16. Gee that was very helpful. Lets see....INTERGALACTIC WAR! That seems a world setting. There is Ava and Red Bloc involved in an intergalactic cold war, there are the therions trying to covert the entire galaxy. And then you have UNA seeking out the Therion worlds to take the fight for them. Ignoring the Therions alone you still have all the political manuevers of the Red Bloc and UNA. Spying, trade, diplomatic missions, secret operations and open warfare. Add in the Karmans who were once on the Therion side but are switiching and then you have interactions between them and the humans. Just reading through the two page background in the starter rules (not to mention the main books) and you have essentially a cold war era space game. There is lots of potential for a strong RPG setting here. Stronger then the final result of 40KRPG or even Star Wars. IMHO. As far as conversions, I refer to a skill list, statistics for weapons/troop types, races and so forth as a starting point. From there you take the RPG setting away from the battlefields and into the shadows between battles.

  18. Has anyone done any conversion work for AT-43?
  19. No mind at all. If you can find use for someone named PK
  20. There will not be any printed copies of Berlin '61 at Continuum. Sorry.
  21. I was initially told the goal was to have printed copies in time for GENCON. I will see what I can find out though.
