Puckohue
Quote defending Terasarin against the duplicity that took his life. What duplicity was that? Didn't he fall off a cliff trying to evade a dinosaur? That's what the Storm Voice told me. Tindalos
Specifically the references for his death in KoS are: "He was killed when he would not relinquish, and his heart turned to stone." (30) "Terasarin ruled for eighteen years, but was killed when a stray moonbeam blinded him as he climbed a cliff to escape a hungry dinosaur." (116) "Terasarin, son of Tarkalor. Crowned 1582, died in 1600 by a dinosaur." (154) "1600 Prince Terasarin killed by Lunar sorcery. Stead fortified." (181) So it's quite likely the dinosaur was arranged, and was part of a Lunar assassination via magic. (If you want to be literal, it may actually have been the Moonfire spell from RQG 396)
Lordabdul
"Duplicity" was the name of the dinosaur. Part of a trio of dinosaurs owned by a Lunar general, named Felicity, Duplicity, and Trinity. 4 3 Quote Ludovic aka Lordabdul -- read and listen to The God Learners , the Gloranthan podcast, newsletter, & blog ! Tindalos
Either that or it's a typo, and they meant Diplodocy!
Joerg
In the Dragon Pass boardgame, dinosaurs could be controlled by the factions. I always blamed the "stray moonbeam" on Moirades and his cotery of Provincial University magicians performing long range magic similar to that of the Imperial College. The moonbeam may have caused temporary madness, which put together with an enraged dinosaur (possibly also moonbeamed) anda cliff creates the immediate means. So, no contradictions there only corroborating evidence faintly outlining what really happened, at least to me. 1 Quote Telling how it is excessive verbis

Seriously, I was wondering for a second if "duplicity" might have been "diplodocus" auto-corrected by the author's writing software... but there's no diplodocus in the RQ Bestiary... 1 Quote Ludovic aka Lordabdul -- read and listen to The God Learners , the Gloranthan podcast, newsletter, & blog ! And there was no auto-correcting software, when the first edition of King of Sartar was released in 1992. Or at least it was not as usual as it is now ... Sir_Godspeed
I guess they might also be blaming a freak accident on their perennial enemies? Happens all the time IRL. EDIT: I do know that's a boring explanation. But if one is so inclined, one could spin further on it with some kind of commentary on public opinion in times of war and crisis or what have you.
