Would someone recommend an easy intro adventure/scenario for a Dragon Pass campaign.  I've recently purchased  The Coming Storm and eagerly awaiting the 2nd volume.  I've do have HQ Sartar Rising.  Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

You may also want to pick up Sartar Companion as that provides some added settings (e.g. Jonstown), many encounters, and some useful scenarios.

I'm assuming by Sartar Rising, you mean the first volume (Barbarian Adventures).  If so, the Blood Feud scenario may be a good starting point.  There's an annual horse racing fair at Larnste's Table in Fireseason (which is in Cinsina clan lands).  Make the 'Hostile Clan' either the Dolutha, the Emerald Sword, or the Two-Pine.  You'll need to determine appropriate Difficulty levels (assuming you are using HQG and not HW/HQ1).  You could also draw from the Clan Activities section (perhaps the Blood Feud triggers a cattle raid on the Hostile Clan).

Old Apple Lane is also good for RQ. In the same place there exists Rainbow Mounds which can be easily run - it is quite brief. Snakepipe Hollow is fine as well for RQ. Griffin Mountain has some threads leading south to Dragon Pass. If you are looking for RQ stuff there is quite little currently for Dragon Pass so you may need to adapt from the above mentioned area. I thoroughly recommend either Borderlands or Griffin Mountain for the first campaign areas for RQ. Pavis & Big Rubble  is great as well.

Runequest 6th/Mythras

This really depends on how much work you want to put in. There are loads of excellent starter scenarios for HW/HQ, but far fewer for RQ if you don't want to head back to the RQ2 era. With the Mythras Encounter Generator http://skoll.xyz/mythras_eg/ it should be much easier in theory.

Ripe for conversion in Barbarian Adventures (Sartar rising 1) is These Women Need Help by Bruce Ferrie :

Quote

Premise: A group of female healers (two leaders plus followers) needs a reliable escort. The chieftain tells the player heroes (who are assumed to be all or mostly men) to stay with the women until dismissed, or until the end of next Dark Season at the latest. Although time will be spent in camp, most of the time will be spent traveling.

...

Quote

The narrator is free to determine the healers’ itinerary. We provide some specific encounters, with most set when the heal- ers are off the main roads, traveling through the wilds.

This episode presents few real conflicts, for its true potential lies in the interactions between the heroes and the women. In the long term, its purpose is to give the heroes a relationship with the healers as contacts, allies, followers, or even friends or family members.

Basically it allows you to use the introductory scenes to get you players to travel around Sartar. My group ended up in Apple Lane as part of this. The relationships built between the healers and the players establishes some excellent background for future scenarios.

Blood Feud scenario

is another good one for HeroQuest, it is however a stay at home clan based scenario, with a long timescale and may not be so suited for RQ.

Interesting; I'd thought the Judges' Guild had long since gone defunct, but it appears that Bob Bledsaw's son has resurrected the company.  I still have a few original printed copies:  Hellpits, Duck Tower, half a dozen issues of the Dungeoneer, and a RQ Judges' Shield.

Hellpits of Nightfang. There's a vampire killing folk. Time to gather your pitchforks, lanterns and garlic spirits.

I always thought hellpits of Night Fang had a great name but was quite weak as a scenario, then I stuck it in the Big Rubble and ran it in my current campaign and it was actually a very good scenario. It spawned several plot threads:

The PCs made friends with Night Fang, as they recognised him from some old tales

Eventually, the PCs un-vampired him and restored him to his former self

They found a shrine in the caves and ran away, leaving some Lunars to refound a Hero Cult of Pavis' Bodyguard
