  1. Reviving this thread with the latest page: http://www.princeofsartar.com/comic/65-robcradle/
  2. User Corwin on Kickstarter posted the following, and asked if someone with an account here (he hasn't had the signup confirmation yet) could post on here. So here goes: (p3) In the 20-sided vs 10-sided comment raised on the forum, one could always just say “One pair of percentile dice” and skip the whole issue. (p18) Under “Resolution Of Melee”, only step 3 has an asterix for hafted weapon damage. Step 2 should have an asterix as well (as it does in the summary tables) (p21) Under Special Basic Chances, the “15% Chance” and “25% Chance” are not left aligned properly. (p35) Battle Magic Spell Table. The extra note added to the table in this version is very confusing (if not actually contradictory) to the note on the previous page (Where Healing 3 costs 3000L). Ie: “* The cost of the spell is cumulative. Thus a 3 point Shimmer spell would cost 1500 L and a 5 point Shimmer spell would cost an additional 2500 L” Likewise the “Cost – 500 L/pt” is also misleading. If something needs to be added, perhaps the “NOTE” from the previous page would be better. Ie: “To buy a variable spell, a character must pay the cost of each lower point spell as well as the level he wishes to buy. In other words, to obtain Healing 3, Healing 1 and 2 must also be bought, a total cost of 3000 L”. Also “Shimmer 5” is a bad example as Shimmer is limited to 4 points. (p65) - Standard Rune Magic Spells Table, “ Runepower 3” is listed as “Runepower” without the “3”. Ditto in GM’s Screen & Player Handouts. (p76) Orlanthe ‘Teleporation’ Runespell. “Non-stackable” in heading but in the description text is says “A stackable spell, it can be used to teleport someone else, within the same limitations.” (p76) Orlanthe ‘Dark Walk’ Runespell. Listed as “Non-Stackable” but text says “the spell is stackable to 2 points for double duration”. Perhaps it should be listed as “Stackable*” or “Stackable (see below)”? (p126-127) The encounter charts in the new addition have weird justifications (centre / right /etc) vs the original left-only. I’ not sure if this is a formatting error or just an odd(?) sense of aesthetic. (p133) The landscape charts in the original RQ2 are consistently top-to-the-left. The “Leaders & Followers” sheet on this page is ‘upside down’ under this model. (backcover) I’m guessing from the PDF that the book will not have the original A-H centre pull out section. IF that is the case then the back cover should probably have the following text removed: “Convenient Pull-Outs - the center sheets of the book make up a digest of the most important charts, tables, rules, and procedures, which can be lifted from the book for easy access.” (Various Charts) Not a typo as such, but when the ‘0’ encumbrance items of the original RQ2 were replaced with fractional values, why were the ugly (2)* and (4)* used when the actual ½ and ¼ glyphs are used freely throughout the rest of the RQ2 book? Just wondering… :-)
  3. Or even simpler, " If the hero loses the exchange, the number of Resolution Points lodged by his opponent decreases by 1". @Oracle there haven't been any changes to the PDF since release as far as I'm aware, and there is no official errata (although I have my own unofficial errata list).
  4. Yes, we still need an official errata. If you're referring to the Battle of Auroch Hills example, then that seems to have been played wrong since the resolution points received for each hero facing multiple opponents should be kept in separate tracks for each opponent, not lumped together. e.g. on p92 where Herrox is supposedly nearly out of the contest, this is wrong, he's got one point from Guard 8 and three from Guard 9 (not four points in total).
  5. That's a shame, but entirely understable with all the other classic PDFs that need preparing, along with new HQ releases and other stuff that Chaosium is doing. I've updated the post accordingly.
  6. Gods of Glorantha Kickstarter!
  7. I just listened, and I must say that the unpublished scenarios/source material book sounds absolutely incredible!
  8. Pledge, pledge, pledge for Soloquest! If you want any of the PDFs for the unlocked stretch goals, don't forget to amend your pledge to add the relevant amount. That way it helps us get closer to the next goal.
  9. That's exactly the approach that Jeff Richard spoke of at Dragonmeet, the approach that the new Chaosium seems to be adopting. Jeff said specifically that he didn't want people to have to buy separate BRP rulebook to go with a game system, so that's why Mythic Iceland will contain the BRP rules. And he gave RuneQuest (i.e. the new Chaosium version) as another example of a BRP-based game with integrated rules.
  10. Most (all?) of this has already been posted on G+ (in the Glorantha community) by Andrew Jones. But I thought I'd post up my own summary based on my notes from Jeff's seminar at Dragonmeet in London, 5th December 2015, not least because G+ postings soon get lost in the mists of time. This is going to be purely about Glorantha-based stuff, not the Call of Cthulhu and BRP updates that Jeff and Mike Mason also provided. The RuneQuest 2 re-issue (via the Kickstarter) is progressing well, and the rulebook itself is ready. Jeff held up a softback "test" copy printed via Lulu.com. A European fulfillment centre is being set up and will start from February 2016, including the HeroQuest: Glorantha rulebook. Prince of Sartar - a colourist has already been brought on board, despite this being a later Patreon goal. The next chapter is New Pavis, then the following chapter will be the classic Cradle scenario. The Patreon campaign means that PoS can continue, before this there were problems given that this isn't a product being sold, it's a free web comic. There will be a monthly Google hangout with Jeff and Kalin for backers. The Glorantha sourcebook (for 13th Age, but rules-free) is waiting on the final 13th Age in Glorantha manuscript so that Jeff can finish it off. Art is being commissioned now. The Coming Storm - this advances the timeline from 1618 to 1625. Apparently Greg has joked that "it only took 40 years" to advance these seven years! The first book is the setting, the second is the campaign. It is planned that all the major NPCs will be depicted in art in the books, and many examples of this (great!) artwork were handed round, plus several maps. The Gods War boardgame, by Sandy Petersen, is on course for a Kickstarter in 2016. The new Chaosium RuneQuest will be later in 2016. Trollpak (the new three-volume version, not to be confused with the reprint stretch goal in the RQ2 Kickstarter) is at the stage of commissioning art. The Guide to Glorantha will be reprinted in 2016, in the same format as before. It won't be in general distribution though. The RQ2 reprint might be in stores, or it might not. This is being looked into. Sandy Petersen is very involved in the new Chaosium RuneQuest. Jeff's very brief comments on what the new CRQ will be have been reported (and mis-reported) elsewhere, and are better explained in Jeff's forum posts on the RQ forum and in the Chaosium press release. The Reiner Knizia Gloranthan board game that was previously announced by Chaosium was referred to by Jeff as "Khan of Khans". It's set in Prax, and a key theme seems to be stealing stuff from other players. Jeff announced that in late 2016 there will be a Kickstarter for a "re-modelled" Dragon Pass board game. This is being totally revamped by Chris Klug, it's not just a reprint. Basic KS goals will include cardboard figures for Harrek, Jar-Eel etc, with stretch goals for plastic figures. It is aimed for between 2 and 5 players and around 90-100 mins of play.
  11. Chaosium have said (see the related blog article) that the new CRQ will incorporate concepts from RQ3, RQ6 and others. So it doesn't sound like the intellectual property of rules concepts is a problem.
  12. Today at Dragonmeet, Jeff didn't say that the new Chaosium Runequest would just be a cleaned-up RQ2. There are a lot of "Chinese whispers" going on here, which is not an unusual thing on the web, of course. Jeff only said a couple of sentences about the new CRQ and all hell has broken loose in some quarters. What Jeff said is that the new CRQ would be built on top of RQ2 but including 30 years of improvements that have been learned over that time. He didn't go into detail, but it doesn't seem impossible to me that some of those improvements might be RQ6 things.
  13. Updated to add a new version of the classic Dragon Pass board game, via a Kickstarter, by Chris Klug. Confirmed today ay Dragonmeet in London by Jeff Richard.
  14. Just to add that the timeline for the Glorantha Sourcebook moves things on compared to the recent (Moon Design) Glorantha publications, so it should have plenty to interest Glorantha fans. I might be recalling incorrectly, but I seem to remember 1627 being mentioned?
  15. Yes, getting excited for the Prax book!
  16. So happy that the RQ Companion is now unlocked, that's a hard one to find on the second-hand market.
  17. Thanks, that's a very comprehensive reply. Looks like I'm missing numbers 2 and 3. The seller was selling stuff from a wound-up uni gaming club, so I'm not holding out a lot of hope for them suddenly finding the missing maps.
  18. The KS is now two-thirds of the way there after just three hours, fantastic stuff.
  19. You're right, it isn't possible to pay via Paypal.
  20. Steve

    RQ 2 Returns!

Almost halfway there after only one hour!
  21. Hmm, after more Googling it looks like I should have a pull-out map of Black Rock village (which I guess is what the inside covers turned into?), am I right?
  22. And up to over $5,000 in 10 minutes!
