  1. Pavis: Threshold to Adventure p18-20? There's a bit more in Pavis: Gateway to Adventure but that's now out of print.
  2. You are relying to a stat description which is a rather weak reed to base your pronouncements of incompatibility upon. Even in Cults of Prax, chaotic members of Humakt were acknowledge.
  3. Cite for this? It's not in the RuneQuest Glorantha rulebook.
  4. That's different from the question of whether you can *join* two cults that are not friends or associates of each other. And the answer to that is yes. RQ:G says p275 that the test for "Membership in Multiple Cults" is that they be "compatible", not that they be friendly or associates. Since even street thugs in New Pavis know that Broos can worship Humakt, a Telmori worshipping him is not a problem. But when is the key question. Are they initiates as the result of a 100% pass rate at the standard coming of age ceremonies or are they intiates from birth? Jeff's answer (and the example of several members of the Sartar Royal House suggests the former).

    Urvagal

I thought the Kodigvari was a reference to Harmast.

    Urvagal

The reference is History of the Heortling Peoples p38 From this Urvagal would have been Garanvuli not Hendriki. The last person bearing the Kodigvari signs would have been -400 ST and probably was the Hidden King slain by Heort. Urvagal would have lived after that time, most probably in the century preceding the Dawn. I get the impression he was a God Talker rather than a Hero.
  7. I'm finding the theory being advanced that the Telmori could join the cult of Orlanth because the Orlanthi cannot sense their chaotic nature to be somewhat absurd. There's a huge difference between not being able to sense the chaos of someone in front of you and having your chaotic nature exposed in an initiation ceremony. For example: Whatever Sartar may have thought about them (Was he illuminated? Was he wilfully blind?) is IMO unknowable and different people will have different theories about what he intended. I think it easier just to say that Tarkalor used the Telmori as his Big Sticks whereas his successors, not having his heroic stature, resorted to using them to cow the tribes. When the Lunars took over, everybody has bad memories of the Telmori.
  8. The Sartarites think the Telmori are chaos-tainted because they *are* chaos-tainted.
  9. Oakfed is so-called because he was fed the oaks of Prax in the Great Darkness. He does not feed exclusively on oaks or even woody plants in general as he appeared at the Battle of Moonbroth where there are no large trees.
  10. The scenarios include the Howling Tower (reused in Sartar: Kingdom of Heroes), Miskander's Tower (See Pegasus Plateau and other Tales) among others. Hence it's probably not worth your weight in gold trying to get a copy.
  11. The slaughter of the Healing Valley is first mentioned in the prosopedia of RQ3's Gods of Glorantha. As for trying to find a reason for the slaughter, that's kinda like trying to find one for Apollo's skinning of Marsyas. It was long ago, it happened and nobody knows why.
  12. Perhaps the healers broke a taboo. If they were operating within an earth temple and had to spill some blood for medical purposes then that could be sufficient to st Babeester Gor off. After all, Taboos are absolute and claiming lack of intent is generally insufficient as an excuse.
  13. Nope. RQG p274 sez otherwise and that's been the case as far back as Cults of Prax. Your original comment was to the effect that this happened to a "lot of converts" . Merely because it could happen does not make it a common occurrence.
  14. I don't think Elmal Guards the Stead is the myth where Elmal receives Shield from Orlanth. At the time, Orlanth is gone, missing, dead, eaten by chaos. There is no hope of a reward, no possible Kumbaya moment to avoid the pain. All encounters, no matter who they are with, end in the hero's complete defeat.
  15. They can obtain spirit magics and training. I very much doubt this. Lunar converts are privileged, not cattle.
  16. My current thinking on Yelmalio in Teshnos: female. She along with her female relations became alienated from the other Fire Gods there as a result of the Goddess Switch and is now a fringe religion there. Elements of her worship has found its way elsewhere (points to Vega)
  17. Huh. Guess I didn't understand Ehilm as well as I had thought.
  18. The only unanswered question left about Yelmalio IMO is what's he like in Teshnos? <twiddle thumbs waiting for the Sky Gods book>
  19. If the ultimate fate of those eaten by the Bat is the highest form of enlightenment then surely the Bat has no need of healing?
  20. Also Sartar: Kingdom of Heroes.
  21. Darkness: Zorak Zoran/Yara Aranis Storm: Orlanth/Red Emperor Cold: Inora/??
  22. They did steal her Resurrection spell so her hostility is not that unsurprising.
  23. In Tales 8 (p14), the Red Emperor's "particular chaos touch is that of demon summoning from the Four-horned Family, and he is also capable of instantly dismissing them as well, which is unique for that class of demon."
