  1. Did it have 👍 big nasty gnashing teeth that'll rip your throat out?
  2. It's not the Healing pots that most go for. It's the antidotes. Healing spells are everywhere, but anti-poison is quite rare. Same with disease.
  3. I think an Issaries Staff will just be a shop assistant...
  4. GRoY has that Buserian is the son of Yelm and Dendara.. somewhat different to the Orlanthi version. A) - is there a LM version of his origins, separate from the Orlanthi version? B) how many LMs will say that their god is the same as Buserian? Is there going to be another Monrogh to bring them back together? C) Buserian was certainly an important part of the Celestial Court and mythos... if LM and Buserian are the same, then like Elmal/Yelmalio, one presumes all of those myths could be brought together... Does Issaries have a Yelmic equivalent?
  5. 👍👍👍 I'm just considering Heroquests for those cults, and being able to access Celestial Court antics.
  6. Maintaining the temple by paying your brother/sister/spouse's second cousin twice removed in-law would be tolerated - still nepotism though. I imagine that's what constantly happens though... especially in Nochet. It's only going wrong when it goes too far. And, as I wrote in my piece above, "and as long as the spiritual responsibilities are being looked after, not many will care. " (much... except for those who want to advance in the temple, but can't due to the corruption)
  7. Just asking - is there anything on this (these?) Especially given that LM is the son of Acos/Mostal (depending on what you read), it would make sense that LM was in the Celestial Court (perhaps in professional rivalry with Buserian). ETA: sources requested.
  8. Ummm.... How are those things going "wrong"? They sound like the sort of things that show tithes are going right 😋 Priests do whatever they want with the money, and as long as the spiritual responsibilities are being looked after, not many will care. Personally, I don't see the (mundane) time or tithe as something the god cares about. They care about the spiritual connections. Hence why the suggestion of buying your priesthood works. Also, unless magic is employed (and it's unlikely to be unless there's an apparent long-standing question, *no-one* else is going to know your income! And no-one is going to know if you lied by saying "I already gave at the temple in the other side of the Pass". I don't think too many priests would bother wasting a Divination on such things, even if it would be successful. However... It would affect whether the initiate gets themselves training or magic from that temple/shrine.
  9. Daffy is by no means a coward!!! After repeatedly losing limbs, being set on fire, having his head blown off, and bill turned around, he still gets back up and goes to take on the enemy!!!
  10. However, the sole (intended) original purpose of footwear *is* protection! From stones, hot sand, hair clippings... (Fashion statements came later)
  11. What's the value attached to "significantly more expensive"?
  12. But then the GMs have a problem. In theory, it should be "drug drinks, get dragged down below, off with their heads/ritually eaten". Chances of survival - extremely slim.
  13. Foaming at the mouth? (if it wasn't obvious, I did set that one up for someone...)
  14. So, my favourite JC author is back at it again! This looks interesting (as does the series it's starting). But, I have questions... Are the new spells etc completely new, or are they also in the Book of Doom? Also, what's the beer like in the Temple of Heads?
  15. It's normally a requirement to help with the defense of the village. And you've got plenty of time when the harvests are just off growing on their own. But yeah, I'd probably add a couple more "or" in there.
  16. You're assuming the hunter regularly returns to the village. And also missed/ignored the bit about the animal's soul. Notice that the main hunting cults all provide (increase) the skill. Hitting the heart (or head) for an instant-kill is very unlikely, so appropriately ending the life is important. Even moreso with traps. (At least in Glorantha, where the soul matters). Also, I don't see Peaceful Cut the same as Craft: butchery. Whether it should be included in Survival though...
  17. Not quite. As long as it's not you who's doing the bleeding or feeling pain. That's what domestication of dogs was about (quite some time later). And wasn't fire one of the first weapons? To scare animals away (or over cliffs???)
  18. What I'm mostly getting at is - a flat "max of 50%", while simple, is unrealistic for all situations. Your Merchant Will Vary. Especially depending on where in the chain they are. (and, obviously, their overheads) As well as the more obvious - place of transaction... This is something I hope an upcoming book will address.
  19. You mean a klanth... I don't get why the crossbow is being given as a cultural weapon. They don't seem to be all that common, such that everyone in the culture would have learned to use one at some point.
  20. I don't understand this line of thinking... Not many merchants anywhere run on 100% profit. Most are getting by on 2-20% (after expenses). Shouldn't the Bargaining roll be the final adjudicator? Especially if the player is an Issaries.
  21. Oh... I thought you were going for Law, Chaos and The Cosmic Balance...
  22. It looks dragonscale to me. However, that's pretty unlikely, so I'll suggest Dragonewt scale instead.
