  1. PC are surprised when the GM needs them to be surprised. It's his job to have situation where players are surprised.
  2. I didn't knew that the spanish edition is even more late than the french one, but I agree. Even french one is very late and I am using only US elements, even with my non english speakers, translating myself everything that is needed.
  3. I have used them, but not anymore. They work well, but too much bookkeeping for too few results.
  4. Your deity's rune pool. You don't have a rune pool for the associated deity.
  5. They change the feel of the combats a lot, thus the feel of the game a bit.
  6. RQ2, yes. In RQ3, your skill apply to categories of weapons (1H sword, short sword, 2H sword,...), not individual weapons. Your skill is the same with a broadsword and with a bastard sword used 1 handed, so in fact, after several fights where various weapons are used, you have less skill values for combat with RQ3, even with dual skill for attack and parry, than with RQG, where you start with half value with weapons in the same category. Completely agree on that. In fact, on this, RQG is more generous than RQ3, as RQG starts off hand at 05%+modifier, but you can use the half value for similar weapon, as RQ3 gives 05%+modifier (and with just above average characteristics, RQG gives 25%higher modifiers). By the way, in my younger times, I had 12 years of fencing, and even at the end, I was unable to do anything with my sword in my left hand, so 05% is even perhaps generous. Completely agree. But I said I am using RQ3 combat rules. We use RQG creation rules RAW, so the skill values are RQG's ones.
  7. This is much more closer to RQG than RQ3: RQG character creation, RQG skill list, runes passions, economics abstraction, chase rules, rune points, new sorcery, cult descriptions, new shaman rules, spirit combat,... Yes, true. This is exactly my main problem with current combat rules (with the 'over 100%, but this one is more generic). And it was easier to use the old rules than to try to adapt the new ones.
  8. RQG RAW except: - pure RQ3 combat. - no 'over 100% reduction'. - replace the '1 adventure per season' with 'max 2 or 3 weeks of non standard activity per season'. - experience is like RQ2 or RQ3, rolled after each adventure and roughly 1 week of downtime. I like this, but I never had an Elmali player (and only 1 Yelmalion, from Prax's Sun County).
  9. You can RAW. It is just longer, except for the few spells that explicitly requires a focus (of which disruption is not part).
  10. Yes, I seem to remember something like a surgery based forked tongue.
  11. IIRC, a human can not speak Auld Wyrmish higher than 25% (although I play the score can be higher, but only for understanding, not for speaking), but there is no limitation for humans on written form.
  12. Battle mats and tokens, or whiteboards. I don't play online.
  13. I still don't have W&E, but RAW, there is no iron shield.
  14. This is exactly how I would do it if I were using multiple parries.
  15. This is how I have always read it. Ditto.
  16. Yes. When I play RQG, my GM mostly play RAW, but when I GM, I completely replace RQG combat by RQ3 combat rules. I also (Thanks PhilHibbs for the reminder) try to have a working to replace the RQG modifiers tables by RQ3 formulas (every point counts, avoiding the steps caused by the tables and avoiding the problem of huge strength causing enormous combat modifiers: with RQG RAW, a character/creature with over 30 STR is very difficult to hit and has a very high attack bonus). In addition, our 15 years old RQ3 campaign is still in progress (albeit once or twice per year now, due to geographical and families considerations).
  17. We did the reverse: When we stopped RQing in Glorantha (with RQ3), we dropped Glotantha and kept RQ.
  18. Completely agree. Not many classical.I haven't understood enough about the nordic to comment on it.
  19. I do count it as for the income: 90% time for priest + 10% of remainder for initiate.
  20. The comments on Veve are making me sure that in the (very) unlikely possibility that I will purchase NFT, it will not be through Veve.
