  1. I would like to know. Previously (=in RQIII), we have assumed that Orlanthi were not allowed to use sorcery except Heortland Aeolians, Invisible Orlanth Carmanians and a few other Arkati (Henotheist Church of Oktorion, IIRC). What is the Chariot of Lightning? This is the 1st time I see this name.
  2. According to Jeff, those cults allow for Sorcery: CA, Eurmal, Issaries, LM, and plenty of others. When I asked for the cpmplete list, I have been directed to the Gods and Goddesses book, but Orlanth is not in the list: " So if you want to become a sorcerer and understand Runes and Techniques, you can still worship Orlanth as a lay member or as an initiate of an associated cult that permits sorcery, but you can't initiate into HIS mysteries. Aeolian sorcerers worship Orlanth but are not initiates of his cult. Wizards are initiates of <AEOL> (or whatever we end up calling it). They worship Orlanth (and other gods) as lay members, but do not participate in Orlanth's mysteries as initiates. "
  3. 1MR/MP (RQG p263). I always played it is possible.
  4. Kalendis Aprilibus (Calendes of april), 2772 ab urba condite. I don't see anything exceptional.
  5. I don't know for RQG, but in RQIII's Trollpack, Kyger Litor's shaman are encouraged to become also Daka Fal shamans, in order to become full shamans, so dual initiation was not forbidden.
  6. Acording to RQG p28, most Orlanthi clans are 'Mixed: In a mixed descent system (common in Sartar, Tarsh, and most Praxian tribes), you belong to your higher status parent’s clan.', not patrilineal, nor patrilocal.
  7. Yes, it is dangerous, and I say it CAN work, and not against every opponent, and only if well prepared.
  8. In RQ, rushing systematically is a sure and short way to die.
  9. Yes, RQIII's combat was much more tactical with lot of options. I have used it quite a number of time. You should be prepared, and can not be used against every opponents, but it can be very efficient, because it forces the opponent to go back to keep the distance or to accept a disadvantage. I used it to break a line, going forward, and then striking the opponent on my right, still parrying the one I have pushed back.
  10. Description is (almost) the same as the one in RQIII: No change in the rules, and impales or slashing are possible. I don't have my RQ2 at hand, so I can not check, but I think there was no possibility of impale in it.
  11. Players book p 57: Special melee tactics - Close Combat and p 58: Closing against a long weapon. Those are rule I miss in RQG (along all the maneuvers).
  12. This was not house rule but RQIII combat options.
  13. Can we have the list of cults that permits sorcery. This is needed to create sorcery users (except for Lhankor Mhy). Thanks.

OK. I don't have them, so can't comment.

On those points, we agree, and I am in the same position as you, not having checked in RQ2 (because my book is 200 km away).

Are you speaking of the Gloranthan Classic one? The prices are the ones from RQ2, and the conversion rules for RQ2 to RQG show clearly that the value of cash is not the same. I have not checked the price list themselves, but I think the have been updated accordingly. Yes, this is a good point.

Everything in the world of Glorantha depends on the game system being used. RQ2, RQIII and RQG have completely different values for money, and thus completely different prices for everything. This will include Truestone. I have not (and will not) check in HQ, but I presume we have at least 2 other values, and 2 other price lists.
  18. Completely agree. This is exactly what we have understood.
  19. Except that the Aeolians are described in the rules, although briefly. I hope they will receive a more complete treatment.
  20. We understood it requires the roll when used as an attack, but not when only tapping the ambient air.
  21. In fact, I don't like houseruling, and I am currently playing RQG RAW (or, more properly Rules as we understand them), because I am not the GM, and also because we wanted to test as much as possible the new rules, but there are in the combat rules some points that (for me) don't feel right, and some other we don't understand how to play it. The numerous threads on the way to count damage or to count Strike Ranks are a proof that there is place for interpretation.
  22. Another possibility is that Jeff's comment was about 'normal' orlanthis, not aeolian ones.
