  1. Wow.. Roman had space ready technology?! 😮 Alien visited earth before, confirmed!
  2. The life of an astronaut is not as glamorous as it is rumoured to be! good tip for the spinning wheel and side effects of 0g. I am just thinking, where better than a table top RPG can you simulate 0g life! Special effects are free! However my scifi RPG idea is a super advanced and unrealistic setting... But 0g can provide an additional fun weirdness.... So right now I wonder.. should I ditch the "repulsor field" tech that I used for force field, simulated local apparent gravity, and reactionless slow propulsion.... mm... probably not... but I also imagine it's energy intensive so.... and space and energy consumption seems quite at odd to me.... (space is WYCIWIG, What You Carry Is What You Get)
  3. Well, you know, this is quite a common and expected behaviour from shapeshifters, I'll have you know! Shapeshifter psychology 101! Though, to be fair, Gods and their avatar is even more advanced... no shapeshift need be involved, just create tailor made body (or grow the natural way?) for each occasions! 😮
  4. Every now and then, like just now, at work, I ponder about GMing a scifi campaign next to my players.... And I just stumbled about a problem little argued about until now.... As you might know (or not) it's impossible to fry food in zero gravity! So I now wonder.. should FTL ship have artificial gravity? maintain constant acceleration when using warp drives? or (more realistically, I suppose) be in 0g while warp driving... hence suffering from many interesting issues.... Of which the lack of hot potatoes chips might be one! 😮 Or maybe they use dried air frier? or centrifuge cooker? So many questions! 😮
  5. I don't think it worth starting yet another argument.... But let it just say, for the last 20 years, every year was warmer than the last one overall in Australia, every year was a heat record 😕 Reasons enough to be concerned...
  6. I wouldn't worry about that level of details.. because, obviously, going that way we wouldn't even be in space yet!
  7. Star Wars is very much black and white and simplistic. At least it was the the original version ambition. Not that I like that (In fact I don't), just saying.
  8. Wow.... That sounds dramatic! The impact is still (proportionally) small because most people would live in Melbourne, instead of communities... But it doe sounds bad indeed...
  9. But the fire was indeed quite bad.. even in Brisbane, close to CBD, one month ago the sky was dull and the sun red from too much smoke.. and 1 month later the weather is still unseasonably cool... And a few small outback towns got heavy property damage.. so I guess it does suck directly.... Honestly the farmers are probably the one suffering the most right now 😕
  10. Well the 6 major towns where the vast majority of us live (I will guess 90% of us live in one of those 6 cities) are perfectly fine... Thanks for asking!
  11. To nudge that in more productive (and topical) direction, if at all possible.... If one is atheist in Glorantha, or not following their clan's cult... as maybe many PC did other the years.. I betcha that wouldn't go so well...
  12. I agree with Brown, science and occult and not incompatible! Did you know that Newton was an avid Alchemist? At any rate, it seems like it because, in the real world, occultism is ... superstition, at best. Hence the better the scientist, the less likely he/she will be interested... But in the game world... Occultism is real! So... Scientist should be interested! Also.. why you have to be over 50 yo? I dunno in th old days.. but today you study a PhD which you usually finish around 26... at 35 you already got a lot of experience under your belt!
  13. Fummy you said that, I heard some youtuber voice the same critic. As, for me, I think Yennifer, Ciri, Geralt are all both equally interested and represented. I have only been disappointed by Triss that is way more interesting in the video game!
  14. Come on, it's a very large easy stroll, with a nice breeze and view! Bonus (spoiler): nobody died either!
  15. It is not. However I could think of 2 things: - if you have 100%+ in weapons skill there is an option to split your score in multiple attacks - if you get the "Blood Tide" supplement (it's quite worth it) there are stunts in them which can do that sort of things (and more). Here a little additional (personal) debate.. The one downside of stunt and that there is no clear limitation / path on how to learn them. That motivated me to have a go at Revolution D100 which has a similar system and clear limits. But the limits is quite frustrating to my players. Might go back to BRP and increase the XP cost (I use XP like in Mythras, 1 XP = 1 improvement roll, 5xp to learn spell / stunt) (and also add mandatory training or research period)
  16. Any enchantment (homebrew) rule for BRP? The gold book is rather vague... NOTE for this particular upcoming setting I like to keep BRP powers as weak as the gold book, compare to say, RQ or Mythras, but I wouldn't mind enchantment being "as easy" as Revolution D100
  17. Makes sense! Ducks might not be strong enough for pulling a 200 pounds longbow!
  18. Hey! it's the Inn! It's not all about Glorantha!
  19. One problem with Revolution D100 is stunt are a good concept but they are not nearly as developed as needed... But after a few sessions I am starting to get some ideas... In the case of art and craft..... It appears to me that... Smithing should not let you do all metal works, nor Physics should let you do a spaceships.... It should give you solid theoritical knowledge, enough to understand and modify something... But additional stunt should be needed for each piece of sophisticated gear. In the real of advanced physic one can imagine many stunt for each piece of advance tech like "propulsor blueprint", "hyperspace engine blueprint", "forcefield blue print" without knowing those one can slowly attempt to make a a small space ship with lots of trial and errors and oversight, but it's gonna be so so.. whereas, by knowing the blue print one can directly order online whatever it needs and straight away build it faster and optimised Revolution D100 has a nice conflict rule for that with different difficulty whether you have the advanced stunt (i.e. specialisation) or not. WIth BRP I would just say without the stunt the work is more amateurish (prone to unexpected problem later), wasteful and slow...
  20. Ha, well,.... Come to think of it I might have heard about the nephilim game... But not much more than that...
  21. Tempted to still play BRP instead of Revolution D100... But I would lack the stunt and general skill... So I came up with this simple idea! Add for each skill category (combat, communication, manipulation, mental, perception, physical) a general expertise skill, e.g. "combat expertise" that is only use to unlock stunt (say one every 10%? but rate could vary) (stunt being improvement over basic skill, things like found in blood tide supplement or twist on existing spell or blue print on engineering skills) One particular stunt common to all skill category would be "general experience" giving you, say, expertise skill%/3 in all skill as a base, up to 20%. This stunt could be taken multiple times.... for Min(expertise/3%, 40%) and finally Min (expertise/2%, 50%) I would also add toughness.. but it's another story..
  22. I was attempting a metaphor.. One that you partially unravelled! 😮
