I have thought as Ducks as preferring freshwater,.. though, so along the banks of rivers or the shores of lakes. Maybe they can live in the marshes along the Defender's Shore, or in the marshes of the Mirrorsea. Quote Simon Phipp - Caldmore Chameleon - Wallowing in my elitism since 1982. Joerg
The Second Age map of Slontos on p.351 in the Guide has Lavar Isle, a place Quote inhabited by birds and sentient waterfowl. Its rocky coast was filled with a variety of large nesting areas. There are a few outlying islands remaining southeast of Thamor in the vicinity of where Lavar Isle extended, with a possibility of a population there, but Lavar Isle itself seems to have been drowned completely. 1 Quote Telling how it is excessive verbis

Mostly we hear of newtling communities in these regions. Did some Ducks flee the Lunar persecution and arrive in this area? Seems likely, just as others went to the River of Cradles. Were there Ducks or Keets there before then? There's nothing particularly noting their presence. The Ducks seem particularly associated with the area around the Upland Marsh and Beast Valley, which suggests they may be connected with EWF experiments to restore the beastmen of Godtime.

I think it depends on what sort; mostly, ducks just like water, and their salt/fresh habits are more about their diet & where that is, than what kind of water the duck likes to swim in. Mergansers, eiders, scoters, and several others will be very-happy in saltwater (at least, the RW wild-types are happiest there). Durulz, being sapient and able to harvest/process foods, can reside in more places than their nonsapient cognates. Jeff
Keets? Those are just tall tales from sailors that travel to the far-off East Isles. Along with tales of people whose ears cover their entire bodies, people who have lived on their sailing ships since the Closing and cannot come within earshot of land, bat-winged people, and a race of headless people like Maidstone Archers but with only two arms.

Must be true, some of these sailors made likenesses on fish skin parchment. Here's the great mystic Pah-Peh-Rheo and his truth-sayer.
