  1. I think the Chinese did not use ship names, but numbered them using the Stems-and-Branches system (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sexagenary_cycle). So the "Grand Fleet for the Pacification of the Western Barbarians" would probably have been made up of "Ship Jiazi of the Grand Fleet....", "Ship Yichou of the Grand Fleet..." etc. The names from the web-site mentioned above are more fun.

  3. You forget all the Chinese left there by the sinking of one of Zheng He's ships
  4. Yes, by Stratelibri. The exact title was "Giocare Alien". I reckon they had the rights: the front covers bears a huge 20th Century Fox logo, with the sentence "in collaborazione con 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment".
  5. Aliens had been officially released in Italy as a BRP supplement several years ago. I guess it would be impossible to translate it into English and to re-publish it (the rights must be super expensive).
  6. Most of the reviews are very favourable. I need this book now
  7. Just give them high Allegiance scores, and the benfits that go with that.
  8. http://www.chaosium.com/article.php?story_id=440&query=strange+aeons&x=0&y=0 Does anybody have any feedback? Seems like a book that could be re-used/scavenged for alternate earth/fantasy earth adventures.
  9. So... Has anybody managed to come up with a good PDF to print out & use as a GMs screen? I couldn't find any in the downloads section. Cheers!
  10. I have just bought this in a Parisian gaming shop. I heartily recommend it to anyone who wants to play a game set in a historic/low magic fantasy Europe, not only in Northern Europe, as the rules for piety, blessings, holiness, etc. can be re-used in any European mediaeval locale.
  11. That's actually a sign of a good gaming environment
  12. My, these names are enough to have me drool... What about Lord Dunsany?
  13. I think we can only tell if magic using characters are too powerful after we've played several months...
  14. You may want to use Provençal rather than French if you're modelling it on Avignon: Santa Magdalena, Sant Francesc, Palais Bauç.
  15. Alas, not really trying to sell but I'd like to move to a smaller place and this stuff is bulky: http://gianni.vacca.perso.sfr.fr/giannieanna/rpgs.html
  16. Paolo, page 15 of the preview PDF reads "One thing that all of the major religions have in common is that they expect their followers to be pious, that is to follow all of the precepts of the reliigion" -- Hopefully you're still in time to correct this for the printed book.
  17. Frankly -- just wait until Tiān Xià is published! Nominally the rulebook covers Imperial China until 1911, but I guess you can stretch it to cover the 1920s.
  18. Too bad. I had considered registering, but travelling to Leicester from the Continent is a pain. You should maybe try and organise the convention in mainland Europe in the future.
  19. Well, after 72 hours there won't be any virgins left And possibly quite an interesting culture-oriented immersive session. I have recently read a Chinese tale where two lovers commit suicide because they can't marry. Then a buddy of the dead guy goes to the Hell Tribunal to get him back to the world of the living but the dead guy doesn't want to because that would mean losing his lover again.
  20. Are you taking orders for Bacharach delivery?
