  1. OK-- So what happened to the threads therein?
  2. Exactly... What happened to Systems & Settings??
  3. Er... So is it something like 'BRP Mediaeval Europe'?
  4. Any compatibility with Cthulhu Dark Ages? or is it an altogether different take on the mediaeval mythos?
  5. Is it an original German CoC supplement, or a translated one?
  6. Same with a lot of ancient settings, actually.
  7. I haven't seen the film yet, but from what I've seen it looks like a rip-off of this old French graphic novel: Aquablue - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  8. Certainly. The Chinese general Yuán Shìkǎi famously killed his enemies using his bow during the First Sino-Japanese War (1894-95).
  9. What I meant was that these settings were not centred on FTL travel, spaceports, navigation skills, or stuff like that. G.
  10. Not really, but you could certainly use Tiān Xià to play adventures set against the background of the Manchu-Cossack wars (see Albazino - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)
  11. Well, my favourite sci-fi settings are: Blade Runner, the Terminator films, the Alien films, Cowboy Bebop (Cowboy Bebop - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia), and Iria (Iria: Zeiram the Animation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). Hardly any starships in those.
  12. Thanks a lot. That'll be helpful! :thumb: China, until 1911 (end of the Qing dynasty) -- so that includes the Opium Wars, and the Taiping and Boxer rebellions, as well as the various wars between the Qing and the Muslims of Central/Inner Asia.
  13. Thank you all... I would be eternally grateful to you if you could provide me BRP-like stats for these weapons (I'm really an ignoramus in terms of firearms!)
  14. I understand the 2nd Age Pavis book has been written in close co-operation with Moon Design. I really didn't like the HW and HQ books. But frankly I am enthusiastic about the HQ2 stuff. I have played two Sartar games at the Chimeriades convention and it felt like the good old RQ2 days! Apparently only games ending in -2 (RQ2, HQ2, MRQ2) are any good
  15. Welcome to Eternal-con.de | Eternal Convention - Kontinuum: I will be there. Anybody else from this forum? (it is heir to Tentacles, which is moving to another time slot and another location)
  16. Well... I have proudly proclaimed 'fuсk the OGL' since 1999

Mongoose mention a quasi-historic setting on their site: Mongoose Publishing : For All Your Gaming Needs ... I hesitate between 'hurray' and 'uh oh'. What are your thoughts?
  18. Started with D&D in 1981 but moved very quickly on to AD&D. Then CoC and T&T in the mid 80s. Then Star Wars D6 and RQ2 (end 80s/beginning 90s), then AD&D again, then BaSIC (French BRP game), then RQ2 again.
  19. "the Mongol raiders of Gengis Khan's Golden Horde" Oooooh! I can already imagine a Crusaders/Tian Xia crossover!
  20. French translation of CoC in the 80s. I have played AD&D and T&T only for med-fan, and CoC only for modern horror for years. Shortly played RQ2 at the beginning of the 90s, then came back to BRP through BaSIC (BaSIC) in 1997 and used it for several homebrews; it also got me back into RQ2, in a campaign that started as face to face and that is now alas played by blog (Le blog de ZIT)
  21. Well... the 'closest' crusade was the Albigensian Crusade - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  22. Frankly I do not understand all the fuss about GORE. Bridge is similar to whist, so should people stop playing bridge??? If the guy who invented the wheel had patented it, we would still be living in caves.
  23. I can't see how anybody could prevent you from publishing a 'd100' game that would be compatible with most BRP/MRQ/OQ/GORE rulebooks even though it doesn't mention any of them. I can even imagine a setting or adventure book with a short rules-introductory chapter that explains that all NPCs in this setting/adventure have their skills expressed on a 1-100 scale, and all their spells fuelled by magic points.
