  1. Just thought I would put in my two cents... I am always in the market for D100 adventures and I am willing to pay more than just a couple of dollars for good quality. But quality is key. For me a good adventure has some investigation, some combat, lots of interaction between players and NPCs and makes logical sense (No ancient giant dungeons filled with monsters unless there is rational behind it.). I am aware that expecting logic in a fantasy game may be a bridge to far but my players are engineers. As for as system I am flexible and would be okay with nearly anything (Maybe not adventures for story or narrative games). PS - If the adventure is low fantasy / low magic that is a plus!
  2. Okay this is 35 pages long. How I missed that on DriveThru I have no idea. Anybody read this? Can anyone provide any thoughts? How long does it take to run?
  3. What's your thoughts behind this? Is this because it's hard for a player to play a character smarter than he or she is?
  4. That's the way I am now. I started off with Magic World which is a streamlined set of BRP rules for fantasy and then I added things from the Big Gold Book and from this forum as I have movedd into other genres. Currently running Cthulhu with rules from Magic World and Enlightened Magic.
  5. Hi Everybody I saw Mythic Constantinople: Life's Long Consequences on DriveThru and I was wondering how many pages the adventure is? I am looking for something to fill two three or four hour sessions - will this work or is it for shorter sessions. Note I don't have Mythic Constantinople but if the module is intriguing I would probably buy a copy. Thanks!
  6. Hey guys, I got an email from DriveThruRPG about the TDM scenario The Lonely Lighthouse but when I go to the site the picture of the product (the front cover) seems very stretched. Somebody might want to check it out! Also can anyone share any further details about the scenario?
  7. I have been watching their Cold War books for a while but I just bought them all. I look forward to diving in!
  8. You are sooo bad! You are making hard to stay on a budget :-)
  9. I have been having a terrible time finding good "short" low fantasy adventures (10 hours or so) for any game system. Not because there aren't any but rather it takes forever to review the options. Hopefully you aren't as picky as me :-). I do highly recommend "In Search of the Trollslayer" though! My group loved it!
  10. I find Magic World very similar to Call of Cthulhu 6th Edition and I use it as my base D100 game (regardless of genre). The book has quite a few editing and layout errors but the material is golden. Here is the review of Magic World I did a while back. https://www.rpg.net/reviews/archive/16/16300.phtml
  11. Thank you! I was fortunate enough to find a copy in serviceable shape last week!
  12. Hey all, My copy of Worlds Beyond is on it's last leg and I can't find it on Amazon or EBay. I am looking to buy a copy in very good condition. Anyone here interested in selling theirs? Let me know!
  13. Hi all, I was recently directed to a new RPG site that looks interesting. It's pretty new but already has a number of posters. You might want to check it out! Its at https://www.rpgpub.com/ PS - It's not BRP specific instead they seem to discuss everything.
  14. In haven't read it yet but what about Stealing Cthulhu? Likewise Silent Legions might be useful.
  15. Dragoner, Clarence can't be bothered with anything else until he develops rules for a Blade Runner setting! Isn't that right Clarence :-) PS - Dragoner - just teasing!
  16. I have Revolution D100 but haven't read it all yet. Does anyone know if Revolution has any equivalent to magic points? You would also need a sorcery skill (to roll against) to make The Second Way work...
  17. Check out the rules for free form magic located here and also in my sig. These are homebrew rules but I am told they have a similar feel to the magic system in Ars Magica. My group and I have polished them a good bit so hopefully they will be easily understandable.
  18. Loz did you ever read Snead's Enlightened Magic? I know nothing of the occult but the book reads (to me) as being much more realistic than anything else I have seen available for an RPG...
  19. Pansophy (spic?) created a program a while back to generate Magic World characters that was great. If you play Magic World you might want to reach out to him!
  20. I prefer, and am willing to pay a premium, for hardcover.
  21. G33, you might consider looking at the rules "The Second Way" found on this site in the files section. It provides a noun verb based magic system for BRP games and I see no reason why it would not work for RuneQuest. I have been told The Second Way feels like Ars Magika though I can't confirm that (I have never played Ars Magika). You can get a link to it below in my signature.
  22. I have come to a similar conclusion. While my group has now widely adopted the Magic World rules for all the various genres we play (Except Super Heros) we frequently steal rules and ideas from Revolution D100 and soon we will start running pure RD100 games.
  23. Glad to have you back Pansophy. I still use that Magic World character generator you wrote frequently!
