  1. I think he is referring to problems new GMs have when they first run BRP. I haven't played CoC (and don't know how it compares) but as a newbie myself I often forget to check for major wounds in combat. Also remember if a character should (in their society) be able to normally do something, don't make them roll for it. Took me a while to realize that...
  2. Okay I just ordered the hardcopy. I look forward to its arrival!
  3. Thank You! This is awesome news! I will pick up a copy!
  4. Interesting! I wonder how Stormbringer 5 did things? I assume it was like Elric but maybe it was like MW.
  5. Thanks all. I will check Magic World when I get home. I thought that greater demons likely cost more but I stand corrected.
  6. Okay I have a dumb question. On page 42 of Advanced Sorcery (lower left), it says that a bound demon counts against the binding sorcerer's INT-limit of memory... Does anyone know how much it counts? I read the the entire The Summoners Art chapter but can't find the answer... Thanks!
  7. How does it fit into the CoC setting? I only played CoC once but the setting was pretty far removed from what I think of as supers...
  8. Yeah at a minimum it probably makes sense to announce it on rpg.net, therpgsite, BRP Central and G+ communities. Heck I woul probably encourage a couple of the people that playtested the rules or otherwise bought a book to put up a review or start a thread on rpg.net.
  9. A few years ago I took one of my friends visiting from England to see the Spanish missions in San Antonio. If I remember correctly these were built around 1758 and represent some of the very oldest structures in the U.S. My friend seemed to enjoy visiting the sites but he was clearly not impressed. When I ask him about it he said he had been to pubs older than 1758 and they were much more nicely done. If I envy anything about the UK or Europe for that matter it's their history and culture.
  10. For those of us who have not read it can you summarize it a bit. Is it purely mechanical or does it capture the spirit of Voodoo / Hoodoo? As an aside that is what I LOVE about Enlightened Magic. It offers the mechanics of spell casting but explains it all in the context of traditional western occultism.
  11. Welcome Steamcraft! Thanks for the artist info yesterday as well!
  12. Steamcrafthow much does high quality art (color and black and white) cost typically? How much does cover art cost?
  13. No I see your point. I think I am going to let the sorcerers (demon summoners really) have access to Mongoose's Stormbringer Runemagic. Then I can write a rune on a wall that prevents gates and such...
  14. Yea that would make it easier. In my game magic wielding people outside demon summoning sorcerers can be counted on your toes and fingers. Right now my guys are getting away with murder using magic. I can't wait till they run into sorcerers.
  15. Yeah I like the fact that wizards can provide healing though like you raising the dead cost a POW. What I as GM have to get over is how frequently the party can escape traps by gating to safety. In one game the party was sentenced to life in prison and they escaped all the same day.
  16. Anyone else using freeform magic in your Magic World game? If so what rules are you using? What GM challenges have cropped up? As for me we use our own house rules The Second Way which is a take off of deep magic. My biggest challenge so far are the player's creative use of magic to solve problems in general and the availability of gate spells in particular.
