  1. A lightbringer who encounters a CA broo healer is effectively stymied. They can't kill a CA healer, even if a broo. Great roleplaying opportunity. A great example of the Impossible Choice, or "Damned if you do Damned if you don't". The same applies to geases, if someone has the Geas of "Kill all Chaotic things" and "Protect all healers", then meets a Chaotic Healer then they have to break one of their Geases. Some Players might complain about this, that the GM deliberately engineered the situation to target them, but that's tough. It's a great way to show that Actions have Consequences. So, the Adventurer does something and has to suffer the consequences, no matter how harsh they are. It can result in a new story arc and can affect other parts of a campaign.
  2. That's what Associate Priests, or God-Talkers are for, allowing someone to be a Priest of Orlanth and Hedkoranth, for example. I see the relationship between the Thunder Brothers and Orlanth as like a Venn Diagram with a great big oval for Orlanth and many smaller ovals with most of the smaller ovals in the Orlanth oval with little bits sticking out. Those little bits are the rare temples to those deities. Personally, I have never been a fan of the idea that all the Thunder Brothers are just aspects of Orlanth. Using the same logic, Orlanth, Storm Bull, Humakt, Kolat, Vadrus and Ragnaglar are just part of Umath. Sure, they are, but devolving makes them separate, in the same was that the Thunder Brothers devolved from Orlanth and are separate. Most of the Thunder Brothers are Sub-Cults of Orlanth and have Shrines in Orlanth Temples. In my Glorantha, worshippers of Orlanth and the individual Thunder Brother maintain the Shrines inside Orlanth Temples.
  3. It is easiest to think of Elmal as Yelmalio in his Orlanth/Wilderness Years, where Yelmalio helped Orlanth and his kin. In my Glorantha, many Yelmalians choose to forget the Orlanth/Wilderness Years and concentrate on the nice myths but many Elmali choose to remember Yelmalio helping Orlanth and call him Elmal.
  4. I haven't had time to look at it, as I have a huge amount of work on at the moment.
  5. Also, expect certain people to publicly state that they won't buy it because they "don't play RuneQuest"
  6. Expect some people to publicly state that they won't buy them because "They don't play RuneQuest".
  7. Nor was Lambril and he is in the Lightbringers Book. Exactly. Now we can expect to have something by summer, which is great news. I can't wait for the fevered speculation as to which deities will be in which book, complaining that people's favourite deities won't be in earlier books, or might be missing, wondering why all 10 books can't be released tomorrow, and whingeing that Yelmalio doesn't have any combat magic.
  8. I don't think there is. The Empires generally only lasted a single Age, except for Kralorela maybe. They often defeated each other, so I am not sure what you need there. This list is probably woefully incomplete but might give you some ideas. First Age: Brithini Vadeli Seshnela Dara Happa Praxian Kralorela Golden Empire Second Age: Brithini Seshnela Dark Empire Shadowlands Middle Sea Empire Empire of the Wyrms Friends Dara Happa Kralorela Eastern Seas Empire Errinoruela Vormain Third Age: Seshnela Dara Happa Spolite Empire Carmanian Empire Lunar Empire Celestial Empire Shadowlands Holy Country Vormain Kralorela
  9. Excellent news! Now, in the grand spirit of RQ forums, when can we expect to see Volume 3?
  10. Chaosium is buying Hasbro to get the HeroQuest name back.
  11. I hadn't heard of this before, so I have bought the rules, GM Guide and GM Screen as PDFs to see what they are like. Thanks for the tip, I'm always looking out for D100-style Sci-Fi.
  12. Not particularly, although I would play it at conventions. 13th Age Glorantha was pretty good but would Pathfinder Glorantha be different enough to be useful? I don't know Pathfinder at all, except having played one Pathfinder game at a convention, so I have no idea how close it is to 13th Age. I probably would buy it, to provide support. Will save you the time: yes, you are completely mistaken. If you want to play in Glorantha in that vein, do check out 13th Age Glorantha if you haven't already (one of the co-authors was the author of D&D4). Ah ... It could be HeroQuest rules! Ah, no, that is not this year ... Maybe Chaosium are buying Hasbro.
  13. Derak the Dark Troll was sold to the Zoo. He was not happy about it, mainly because he lost all the magic items that he had amassed.
  14. There are scenarios on various people's websites but I don't think they have been collected in one place. Have a look at the links section on my website for some ideas. You might need to go through the Wayback Machine to access some of the sites, as they might have disappeared. I seem to remember that Nikk Effingham and Nick Brooke had some good scenarios.
  15. I'd allow it, for both the fun factor and the fact that it won't make much of a difference. This article says that the British auctioned of tens of thousands of aircraft after WWI, so there should be loads available. Another article says that the Aeromarine 75 4 passenger flying boat cost $6,500, so you are probably about right with your estimate. This article says that the Aeromarine 75 has a range of about 850 miles, so probably not good for Europe or Africa, but the Investigator could put it on a cargo ship, sail to Europe and then fly along the coast. I would say that a skill of 71% would be fine to fly, unless in bad weather. The Aeromarine 75 sounds perfect, it has a crew of 2 and 4 passengers, can fly for 850 miles and can be landed on water. It was described as a luxury experience, so just the kind of thing for a part of Investigators. It is traditional to ship such items in boxes labelled "Machine Parts", which usually works. You get through custom checks by bribing officials. Don't forget, this is not long after WWI, so there will be loads of ex-military weapons around. The best thing about having them is that don't make much of a difference in the game.
  16. Unfortunately, General Ork has said that doesn't like PDFs and most of the Jonstown Compendium supplements are currently PDF only. But, but, but, one of the Jonstown Compendium series of supplements is called Monster of the Week, so it must be!
  17. Trolls eat sentient creatures all the time, in fact Kaarg Sons are ritually obliged to eat relatives. Many cultures eat Newtling Tails and are not treated as chaotic. The Cannibal Cult eat people and are not chaotic. The Maran Gor priestess at the Shaker Temple has cannibalistic virgins, are they chaotic? Oh, but maybe you mean Ogres, yes they are chaotic. Also, Glorantha has normal ducks that are not sentient and can be eaten freely.
  18. Maybe a Slarge, or another type of lizardfolk
  19. I am going to buy them all in PDF format anyway, regardless of whether they come in 10 books or one humungous book. I'd probably join them together as PDFs anyway.
  20. Sure, people have made all kinds of skins into armour. It makes sense, as a Heroic thing to do. A lot of GMs would blanch at the idea and put a lot of obstacles in the way, but in theory it should be possible. Maybe unwise, but possible. It should be doable, but you probably won't find anyone who has done it, this sounds like a one of a kind sort of thing. Dragonewts normally wear Dragonbone armour, or at least the more advanced ones do, so maybe they aren't the best people to ask. Acid might do the job, but I would say that wouldn't I? You might be able to boil it and scrape the hard scales off, leaving a skin. Or, you could take the scales off and use them to make dragonscale armour. Maybe there is a dragonstone rock that dragons scratch themselves on that could be used. Whatever makes sense can be used. Maybe, all make sense to me. The armour maker might even have to HeroQuest to get the skills and knowledge, or can make the armour on a HeroQuest, but, again, I would say that. Alternatively, look at Legend's Arms of Legend supplement, p56-58, that has a good guide to making armour from animal skins/hides. You could probably use them exactly as they are written. I doubt if I can copy them here, unfortunately.
  21. For me, a year is a year is a year. I don't often count years in days. So, someone who is 20 years old in Glorantha is 20 years old and looks like an 20 year old would. Maybe, who knows? I play that a Gloranthan day is 24 hours long and hours are broken down into minutes and seconds, same as in the real world, as it is easier to work with spell durations. Is there a mismatch there? Sure, there is. Do I care about the mismatch? No, not really.
  22. Few of us follow the world view rigidly. In my last Gloranthan Campaign, a Baboon (Mello Yello) became the Golden Dragon Emperor of Dara Happa, so does that make me a Glorantha purist?
