  1. One of the old RQ 3 supplements introduced the skill Scout (terrain). I'll see if I can find it and post it here. SDLeary
  2. Passions, if you want to use them, can easily be imported. The other part of the equation is the Personality Traits, which are already in BRP (p.294). I would not use those trait pairs, as they were originally envisioned for NPC development; just import the ones from Pendragon wholesale. Oh, and if anyone cares, take note that Greg has decided to change one of the pairs. Pious/Worldly is becoming Otherworldy/Worldly. Pious becomes a passion (Loyalty: God). As for an Arthurian Britain setting... you'd have to choose from the various historical/literary bents on the subject. SDLeary
  3. Keep in mind the Holiday. That often puts a damper on any estimates in shipping... especially by Post. SDLeary
  4. I think SIZ because it does factor Mass, at least in part, does need to be part of the equation. A large Size is not always good. Does a longer stride offset the ambient mass and the strength needed to move it? Right now the only notable negative for a large Size is if you use the optional skill categories... and then only for "Physical" skills. SDLeary
  5. That would be an instance of age reducing the strength of the person, and thus not being able to overcome size. SDLeary
  6. Yes, but only if their strength can overcome their body mass. Humans were what I was thinking of when I proposed the Siz modifier. With two 6' individuals, one weighing 180 lbs, and the other 300 lbs, its unlikely that the latter would be able to run as fast; assuming same leg length, etc. SDLeary
  7. Insert Siz (Mass) as a negative modifier and things should work out. SDLeary EDIT: Nix that... now that I've thought about it for a few seconds that would only work in a few cases.
  8. I hereby proclaim you Grogus Maximus! Ave! Wow! Punch-cards! You obviously took some of SODA with you! SDLeary
  9. If any of the Grogs here know where the files ended up, there used to be a command line UNIX program on the SODA Archives that would spit out literally reams of pre-made NPCs complete with MrMan type hit location charts. I'm sure it ended up in the recycle bin, but I used to have a fan of 17" form feed about an inch thick. SDLeary
  10. Happy Birthday Trif! And thanks for this site! SDLeary
  11. Not blurring, no. Adjusting the transparency will soften the contrast between elements on the covers, making them somewhat translucent and allowing some of the background to bleed thru. This should allow the headline and menu to stand out more. SDLeary
  12. Hmmm... OK. Perhaps playing with transparency on the covers background to make the headline and menus stand out more? SDLeary
  13. Trif, I'd suggest a black headline on the main page. The two tone, with "Central" in white, along with the "menu" options get a bit lost right now. SDLeary
  14. I like Cider once in a while too. Unfortunately, the only English cider we can get here seems to be Samuel Smith's. How does it stack up in the rankings of Cider? If its imported to the States, then my guess is that its the cider equivalent to Budwiser. SDLeary
  15. Oh damn that looks and sounds good! Alas, we have no brewing monks around here; a few that run a winery though. So... I deal with less exotic stuff. Just put a St. Peter's Organic English Ale in to chill for a few min. SDLeary
  16. I also see no base % for weapons. At the top of page 12 though, attached to the section on Common Skills, is a section that says the following: Skills.............................................Basic Percentage Each Close Combat Style.................Str + Dex Each Ranged Combat Style..............Dex x2 Common Magic.................................Pow + Cha As everything seems to be defined as a Combat Style (ex Sword and Shield, Spear and Shield, Spear, etc.) it appears that the base % for all weapons is Str + Dex. SDLeary
  17. I haven't seen the movie yet, but it sounds like its much like the Banana Wars in Central America from the early part of the last Century. Not that similar issues don't prevail today. SDLeary
  18. Time for a bump! See the post below for info! SDLeary
  19. And if you decide to use the powers for magic, look carefully at the descriptions. There were some loopholes in the way things could be bought and paid for that made for some extremely powerful characters for little cost. SDLeary
  20. Pick up the PDF of Superworld. Its already there and been done, just had to be cleaned up and modified a bit for different settings... and a few loopholes closed. SDLeary
  21. If an ancient supplement is done, I would suggest something simply based on the Eastern Med, roughly the end of the Minoan thru the Mycenaean period. This would allow for Trojan/Homeric Greece, Sea Peoples, Cannan, Babylon, Hitties, Egyptians, et.al. In other words a whole hell of a lot of Heroic stuff. SDLeary
  22. You mean, Pendragon A good choice, depending on players style, is Dave Dunham's PenDragon Pass. A bit less gritty and more epic in feel than RQ/BRP, and a bit more abstract in the area of combat, but fun if you are going for something closer to an epic style, but don't want to go as far as HQ2. In addition to this, IIRC, there was a Gloranthan Pendragon released at one of the EuroCons that is supposed to adapt the Pendragon magic system to Glorantha and its Runic magic. SDLeary
  23. Yes, but in Blade Runner, they are implied... at least ships that allow transport to the Belt. The Alien films don't show many, but two are pretty important in the first two flicks (Nostromo and Sulaco). SDLeary
