  1. Chaosium has pretty explicitly stated that they expect folks to run RQG entirely from the new line, without reference to prior canon. The books must stand on their own; any prior "interpretations" of the rules that contradict a plain-sense reading of the RQG RAW are irrelevant.
  2. Remember Orlanth has a LOT of problem material... the Darkness came because he murdered the lawful king; arguably, this disruption of the Way The Universe Should Be allowed in Chaos & the Devil (certainly, the Dawn was integral to defeating Chaos). Fucking Up then Fixing It may be the most prevalent & important theme in the Orlanth mythography...

    Crushing Noise?

You have inspired me, sir! Begin with a trollkin... who tries to Initiate into the Bloody Tusk, but fails; but he gains Riding and Animal-Handling (Tusker), and a warmount; and a lance! He has named his lance "The Tusk.". But he still plays the instrument he learned in the "mountains" (the Lead Hills) near the Shadow Plateau: an alpenhorn. And he has Initiated into the cult of Crushing Noise. Now he rides with a tall "pair of tusks" on the right and the left (he has named his horn The Other Tusk). Sometimes in melee, he forgets which is which, and couches his horn to a charge...
  4. Either. Both. Ernalda (and some other Earth-Goddesses) lead to being Queen -- it's more often a "soft power" role (negotiating, alliances, trade, compromise, etc); but it IS rulership. It's just not a very traditional mode for Sartarite rulership. There are exceptions, as always -- the Feathered Horse Queen, afaik, is often a war-leader type figure. Your Glorantha May Vary, My Glorantha May Vary, Chaosium's Glorantha May Vary, Greg's Glorantha May Vary. And they do.
  5. That looks like a ton of fun! Quick question, though: it seems there's less RQG core-book support for a wide variety of characters than (FrEx) Orlanthi&Allies; are you interpolating/creating new content, or ... ? (My 1st reaction is that a an entire party of Lunar-Soldier PC's wouldn't have a ton of variety ...)
  6. Not all knapped blades are as fragile as glass, but I'm inclined to agree that a mundane obsidian blade would be highly fracture-prone. I don't think "all" obsidian would necessarily be magically tough... Recalling that lead and copper &c can be made as durable as iron, I see no reason obsidian couldn't be enhanced similarly (specially by the cult of a volcano-god!). Also, Orlanth's storm-glass, and glass made via Dragonfire, would (I expect, YGMV) be amenable to all sorts of additional enchantments. Also, I see no.reason to believe that Our Heroine would be wielding a mundanely-feeble blade in this scene; or at least, not without very good reason!
  7. Having looked closely, I'm betting on knapped obsidian.
  8. .... Is this some sort of trick???
  9. Well, please post a link to your sale back here, in case there's some RQ item someone here needs... Or even some other, lesser RPG! 😉
  10. Once again - TYVM! I've passed along the info, and it seems to be the MRQII version, so I suspect she'll grab it. I've explained the (MRQ1)/MRQII/Legend/RQ6/Mythras relationship if she wants to grab a ruleset to match...
  11. Any chance of that (original) official RQG character sheet seeing its way into this package? The one @Jason Durall teaser'ed over here: https://www.chaosium.com/blog/designing-the-new-runequest-part-21 Or as a D/L'able freebie? Or ... ? Thanks!
  12. <drip, drip, drip> Ignore the fanged monstrosity drooling behind the curtain. but... Are there any news? Is there even ONE new? TYVM
  13. It kinds feels like we're solidly onto Unisystem here: Witchcraft, with some add-ons from Buffy & Angel & Ghosts of Albion. (or one of the others as core; likely a Classic core rather than Cinematic because Cinematic runs so action-centric). It's closer to this genre than anything BRP that I've ever played or heard of. But even more so, one of the Forge lineage of games, with R-maps and such as a core focus ...
  14. Google image-search is... full of spurious results. Let me see if I've got a handle on this... MRQII "trade dress" is brown faux leather with "RuneQuest II" across the top, and a large rune (or other iconic/silhouette image, eg crossed bearded-axe heads on Vikings)? MRQI has a arcs of "runestones" running across the cover, and a circle holding a similar rune/icon image?
  15. My understanding is that Android is a tough market to make a good profit. The topic has been done elsethread...
  16. Another suggestion -- if you don't need to monetize these -- would be to find a local teen organization, club, youth shelter, etc. Some place where multiple RPG's could be loved by an audience who maybe might not otherwise have access to such things... Or monetize the most-valuable and donate the others ...
  17. it's The Man himself! Thank you for jumping in! My quick Google hadn't seen that there were 2 ed's of this volume. How do we tell them apart? Cover art? Crack the book and look for publication date? Or ... ?
  18. TYVM. She describes it as essentially devoid of system specificity -- equally adaptable to the MRQII whose era it was in, as to D&D3.x/d20 -- whose era it was ALSO in... From her description, I was almost reminded of Harn.
  19. It was @smiorgan 's chart! TYVM el @Runeblogger !!!
  20. Thanks; but no. I meant entire d100/BRP game systems, not the Glorantan deities. RQ1 begat RQ2 begat BRP (16pg ed) begat WOW (which begat SuperWorld & MagicWorld spin-offs), and CoC. Stormbringer & Elric, and AH RQ3; the BGB. The Nash/Whitaker Mythras branch via Mongoose; Elfquest. Ringworld. d101/OQ and THAT whole branch. Etc etc etc.
  21. Hey, folks... A few years back, I recall somebody producing a rather nice (albeit (necessarily) complicated) diagram of the interrelated BRP family. I think it originated here, tho I think it also got posted to (an)other site(s) as well... But now I can't find it; and don't recall who made it. 😥 Can somebody help me? TYVM!!!
  22. How has @Loz' old volume stood the test of time? My daughter just called saying her FLGS has a bunch of old Mongoose stuff at 50% off...
  23. The physical, printed version of the new/updated Masks of Nyarlathotep campaign will (as I understand it) be as a 2-volume slipcase set.
  24. I think that's right. Pretty much anything at the Argrath-and-Harrek level is presumably on a WHOLE 'nother level ! I had been thinking more of the "ordinary" itinerant-adventurer Issaries priest ... 🤣
