  1. You used to be able to sacrifice for it at two temples, and get two destinations. I think that should still be a possibility somehow.
  2. Guided Teleportation This nonstackable spell always returns the caster to a specific spot made sacred to Orlanth through a complicated weeklong ritual. This spell has no range limitation. Does this mean that once you have sacrificed for the spell, you have to then perform this ritual before using it? Or, do temples typically have a pre-prepared sacred location that can immediately be used if you acquire the spell there? Can you repeat the ritual as often as desired to set alternative destinations? Does the location have to already be sacred to Orlanth, or can any location be made sacred, such as through a Sanctify spell? Can the spell be traded using Issaries magic, and if so can the recipient use the original caster's locations, or do they have to make their own? I was about to post this on the official Q&A thread but it's better to have it out in the open for anyone to chime in with opinions.
  3. The system seems to gives plenty of freedom for the group to set the RP refresh rate to the level that they are comfortable with.
  4. What would you suggest? To me, it makes sense that you get them back on holy days, and holy days only happen once a season. You could go back to the way RQ3 did it, and you'd get them back every never ever.
  5. No-one dares remove Ralzakark from Gloranthan canon, you don't know what his reaction would be!

    Defence

The official answer is that "Defense is not used in RQ:G and should be ignored", so all RQ2 stat characters and NPCs just have base chance in Dodge regardless of their RQ2 Defense. That seems a little mean to me, I think I agree with @Malc about dodge being 2xDefense. Maybe Defense + 2xDEX.
  7. I would rather be feared, if I cannot be both.
  8. I made SVG files of all the runes in the core runes font, plus the RQG sorcerous techniques. They are on the unofficial RQG wiki. http://runequest-glorantha.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Runes
  9. There is one change that cascades across several pages. I can't remember where it starts, but it ends on page 377 and the problem there is that the line "Spirit places are relatively rare. Some famous examples include:" has been pushed back two pages (past a page of art) and is no longer right above the actual list.
  10. I think the game mechanics answer to this is going to be related to the mechanics for Truestone. The canonical Gloranthan answer is, of course, that they don't get this power. Except that some rune spells are one use, and use up Rune Points permanently, while others are reusable, and you can only use the Rune Points with a specific cult to cast spells from that cult - you can't use your Eurmal RP to cast a Heal Wound that you got from Orlanth. But going with that idea, if an Atyar cultist drains an Ernaldan and casts Charisma with their Atyar RP, they can regain the RP. If they cast Gnome to Gargoyle, do they lose the Atyar RP permanently, since Ernalda only gets it one-use? I think the link between the spell being reusable and the loss of the cult RP is an important one, and it doesn't make much sense to me to muddle the two. I can't think of a good compromise though, and I don't have access to the Atyar cult writeup to see what Consume Mind says.
  11. Of course they aren't fine with it, but they don't get a say in it. Same as a matrix, really, anyone can use it for any nefarious purpose. Now resuable divine with Consume Mind is different. That doesn't make sense to me, how can the Atyar cultist worship to get them back?
  12. Yes, you can see on the first image there that it does.
  13. The text is lifted straight from RQ2, I think RQ3 eliminated this distinction and an accumulation of hits was the same as a single blow. Personally I will ignore the "from a single blow" part entirely.

  15. Gah! "Scenario" is from Italian, not Latin. And this isn't an Italian language forum anyway. Some words in English have been adopted in both the original language's singular and plural, e.g. datum and data. Some words are just borrowed in the singular, and we use English plural rules. Scenario is such a word, in English the plural is scenarios, in Norwegian it's scenarioet, in Dutch it's scenariootje. The Italian plural of scenario "scenari" is only used in Italian. (B) Sorry. Couldn't restrain myself. I won't do it again. B - This indicates that the rumor is generally true but that it also has a substantial false component
  16. I don't really care whether 8 hours a day is possible or not. It's just a rule, a bit of maths that bears little actual relation to what is happening in the game world.
  17. My players' reaction to that was "nope, not going back there".

    Spirit rune

They are different game systems. The use of runes in HeroQuest should not dictate how they are used in RuneQuest, any more than Hit Points in D&D should dictate anything about Hit Points in RuneQuest.
  19. I'll take a look at the week-end, I may have uploaded them as ascii files instead of binary. I only checked that the sorcery.doc file was ok last night.
  20. Found it: http://hibbs.me.uk/snarks/docs/
  21. INT SR for spell casting has been suggested, the Elric! game system has something similar. Spells do require gesturing, though, so DEX has an excuse for being in the equation.
  22. The rules don't say anything about what characteristics can't be trained. All the old RQ3 rules about DEX*1.5, and STR&CON to the highest (or was it lowest?) of STR, CON, SIZ are gone. I guess it's up to GM's judgement how far a pygmy can "beefcake" their SIZ, and what the negative consequences would be.
  23. For a start, if Lanbril is allowed as a standalone rune with a different rating to Disorder, then you could have both Harmony and Lanbril at 80%, and have powerful magic that uses each. This would be unusual.
