  1. I can't remember the exact volume (issue, mailer?), but several were postulated/figured out during discussions on one of the Chaosium Digest mailers in the dim past... might be worth culling those before taking the time to re-invent the wheel. SDLeary
  2. Nothing show stopping. Mainly new program teething pains... odd crashes in different circumstances that they are still trying to track down, some import issues (primarily PDF), and things along those lines. And oddly, it varies based on platform. Take a look HERE. You can also look HERE to see what is actively being worked on. SDLeary EDIT: Also... if you run into any issues, one of the first things I'd suggest is trying to validate any fonts used in the project. Odd stuff that's hard to track down can occur if a font is corrupt.
  3. Yes! And the other apps are excellent and inexpensive too. More importantly NO SUBSCRIPTION! SDLeary
  4. By Request... Affinity Publisher. New, and still has some issues, but its serviceable and inexpensive; and they are actively working to fix the issues, and add more features. In addition, it has sister apps for photos and vector drawing. SDLeary EDIT: for anyone interested, looks like they are running a special too... all three programs are 30% off, each. 6. I actually felt this in episode 3. All the episodes combined makes me wonder if we might be running more into "Lone Wolf and Cub" territory. SDLeary
  7. Actually, Feats or Abilities like this does sound like a good reward for certain HQ. While Iron Immunity is a good one, I'm actually thinking about Celtic style type feats such as a Mighty Leap, or animal transformations without having to have a multitude of spells; specifically I'm thinking of the chase of Gwyon on Ceridwen. SDLeary
  8. OOH!! Spiritual/Material... that's the one I've been looking for. I've been using Spiritual/Secular... but just didn't feel right. SDLeary
  9. Even though its not in the BGB, this is kind-of and option now. There is nothing presenting a group from simply listing the raw stat in the main box on a Cthulhu sheet and the x5 in one of the smaller boxes, or multiplying x5 and putting that on a BRP sheet (though that already exists in the stat rolls). Does present a slight amount of work on the part of the GM though when preparing encounters. This is something I advocate when Cthulhu comes up as the % characteristics just look odd... especially once you get up into large and strong, or powerful creatures. SDLeary
  10. Jeff and Co. are final arbiters for canon, but here I do differ with him. In RQ (with CHA, whether that's a home–ruled RQ3 or RQ:G), its the combination of POW and CHA that forms Divine Favor (I might even add INT in there). CHA is simply the insubstantial facility to attract, interact, and influence others, including spirits of all sizes. POW is the strength of your characters spirit. SDLeary
  11. Actually, this is one that I did on my own some time ago, as a house rule in RQ3. CHA isn't beauty, so a low CHA character is not ugly, they are simply dull and unattractive; and a high CHA character is not beautiful, they can be the ugliest person you have ever seen, but they have the ability to draw people to them, people want to help them. Now, I haven't made it thought to Magic yet, so I'm hoping that the limits that your speaking of only affects Shaman's, and other magic types when summoning or otherwise dealing with spirits. SDLeary
  12. Sorry! That wasn't the intent. Just so surprising after the way the last few years has gone down!! As far as MOB, my comment was related to the fact that he is pretty on it, quick, etc. to get new information like this out; that is to say someplace like here or the Blog portion of Chaosium's site. No, but QuestWorlds has been discussed here, by Chaosium staff (and haven't looked for it but I would assume on one of the the Facebook groups too). SDLeary
  13. Is there a transcript or video of this seminar anywhere? It really sounds too good to be true considering all the work they went to to pull licenses (BRP licenses not Glorantha, that I can completely understand). Also, @MOB is also pretty damn well on it when it comes to his announcements. SDLeary
  14. Yes, speculatively. With as much as they seem to have on their plate right now, I'm not holding my breath, but would LOVE to be surprised. After all... No Mythic Iceland yet A Space/SciFi game announced And the new Rivers of London, previously mentioned Pendragon back in the stable And all the "regular" work on RQ/Glorantha, Cthulhu, and getting the HQ SRD and Gateway stuff going There are only so many hours in the day, and Chaosium is by no stretch of the imagination "large". SDLeary
  15. Sadly looks like wishful thinking. Chaosium has stated that they have no plans to update BRP. This could of course change, but looks unlikely to in the near future. SDLeary
  16. To all US residents, and US expats... Happy Thanksgiving!! SDLeary
  17. Whichever one you want? Like others, I'm having issues seeing the trouble based on how the game is designed. You create your character, if you want to break cultural norms to talk with the GM and come up with a plan. AFAICT, this would really only rear its head if someone was trying to specifically minmax. SDLeary
  18. To the best of my knowledge they didn't, it was an independent effort. I imagine that they would have had to go through AH for publishing and distro if things had moved forward. SDLeary
  19. AH didn't have one. The '93-94 one, by Oliver Jovanovic, Michael McGloin, and Carl Fink. SDLeary
  20. The talk about RQ3 house rules and whatnot has me going back into my copy of AiG to take a gander. It looks like, at some point, they added a seventh category, Reasoning. Oddly, they never thought to define its modifier, at least not in this revision (formatted 2–column). Does anyone know what the formula was for the modifier to this? SDLeary DISREGARD: Found another copy of AiG on my drive, and it has it. Oddly the same as Knowledge so it makes me wonder why they broke it out to begin with.
  21. Its not just the dropping of the missile table though. Its the fact that you are using the RQ2 table in general. The chest is MUCH easier to hit than represented, missile or melee. What makes the chest (and abdomen) less likely to be injured is defense, whether that be a shield or sword parry, or armor. After the head, the torso was the most common area to be protected (pectorals, breast/back plates and skirts, cuirass'). Now of course, tis easy swap. But its another of the little things that contributes to the perception of the whole. SDLeary
  22. The effect would be that you would have more chest hits and fewer limb hits than is currently represented in the game. You would have variability because of combat and mental conditions, of course. Thats why you have a table to begin with. SDLeary
  23. And they have gone back to this in RQG... even back to the single location table. SDLeary
