  1. You should have set expectations before starting the game if you knew that they are liable to cut and run. You might want to tell them that you expect them to investigate and the norm for CoC games is that the players job is to investigate what they've been asked to and not get sidetracked or abandon the task because they are unsure of what to do next.
  2. I double checked the UK eBay site and found a copy from a US seller at less than UKP20 mind you shipping was the same amount (UKP20) but with US postal costs that isn't bad.
  3. Khedrac, Everyone is at Gencon so probably you'll get no response for a week or two.
  4. I've noted the arrival date in the UK in my Calendar and I'll be tracking the ship so that I can be on the dock at Southampton waiting to take some pictures.
  5. Falconer, you know what the say about assumptions. I see most UK based con Keeper's switching over to 7e now that books are in the wild rather than only through KS/Backerkit. The authors did a good job in retaining backwards compatibility so using older material is easy and can be done on the fly. Not sure that you can even get a hard copy of 6e any longer although Chaosium are still offering pdf's I believe. I ran The Derelict for Free RPG day at a local game store and no-one had any trouble dealing with 7e if they had played under previous editions. I shall be running a shortish campaign in September using Pulp Cthulhu and 7e and set in the South Pacific and I'm currently playing in an on-line game of Curse of Nineveh using 7e and no shortage of interest due to using 7e. There are however some people who are still playing 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th edition CoC or still playing 6e just because they don't want to learn a new game in the same way folks are still using AD&D and D&D 3.5 even though 7e CoC is really very simple to change over to unlike later D&D editions.
  6. You know what DreadDomain just divide the characteristics by 5 and then I'm sure you'll be happy.
  7. I'm playing in an on-line campaign of this and we haven't yet come across the opportunity to get either book as far as I remember. The actual campaign should have some suggestions for passing these out to players I would suspect. I'd recommend a thorough reading of the material before starting and noting down anything that should happen outside the players immediate view so that you don't miss anything that should have happened while they were off doing something else. It might be useful if someone isn't keeping notes for you to provide a written synopsis before each session to refresh the players memories about what's currently happening.
  8. Don't bother with Series Two TBH the Lovecraftian/KIY/Chambers vibe in series one isn't carried forward into the second series at all.
  9. p98 in the Keeper's book - Training
  10. Although I'm not in your position regarding lack of knowledge about student activities in the 20's as I've seen a variety of old movies set in the thirties where students are featured. That's not necessarily factual more idealised but even so it's useful for background. A more useful thing would be to get hold of the Miskatonic University book published by Chaosium, either the 1985 version or the updated version from 2005. Both have comprehensive information on Miskatonic University, University life and the staff together with scenarios and a character generation option for taking students through all four years of college.
  11. TBH they should be way down the list for reprinting. Gaslight had a new edition fairly recently and you can easily use 7e chargen with the Occupations for the 1890's and Masks may be iconic but in all honesty it's getting a bit tired and needs at the very least a rewrite to tighten things up. The MoN Companion book (third party) has taken a long time get into print and is a must for improving/bringing Mask up to a modern level of writing/plotting. If anything is in demand and actually out of print that should get priority. Some of the other Lovecraft Country material would help for example and it's probably not a matter of throwing easily reprinted material at us to get cash flow go.ping/restarted as it was a year or two back..
  12. I tend to read the C7 forum for material about the Laundry personally. I run it about twoo or three times a year at conventions and probably once for a short (8 week) campaign at the club. I think I've answered this question over there. I never do the intake stuff beyond the first ever session several years ago now as it's more interesting to start in media res.
  13. I'd suggest looking at the Classic Fantasy add in to RQ6/Mythras. It adds all the usual stuf form D&D like levels, classes and spells to the core engine.
  14. End of June or early July for the second boat load of books is what has been mentioned by MOB IIRC. Which probably means maybe July for books in stores in the US unless they keep back a load for Gencon. Some stores may have preordered or been in on the KS so may have books earlier than that.
  15. A clue as to your location would be nice so that you can get a suitable answer.
  16. I suspect that the order in which the packages are being sent relates to their location in the spreadsheet sent out by Chaosium with the list of names and addresses. I don't know if it was sorted by Name, Surname, or country so there's probably no way of working out where you are in the order. It might be that the shippers will tell Chaosium when they have completed their deliveries and someone from Chaosium will announce that. If you haven't received a package or notification by then I'd contact Chaosium for an update with your details.
  17. I was thinking of using MU as a chargen guide for someone who would wish to be a freshman student and interspersing odd events from the school into the campaign after the events of Harvest as well as doing some of the other adventures in the Arkham area with support form teh faculty once the students are 'Mythos aware' a a result of Harvest.
  18. Has anyone used the cha2389 Miskatonic university book to generate students for the OP scenario? It's got some interesting options for starting students out and a ton of background on the University and the staff. In addition there are lots of hooks for both further adventures and some interstitial red herrings and things ot investigate.
  19. If I were you I'd check my SPAM folder as mine came very quickly (hours/days) after I ordered.
  20. The scenario based on a Carnacki story is the Horse of the Unseen or something close to that.
  21. Chaosium's #2389 Miskatonic University is great for background to the University and has an adventure therein. Adventures in Arkham Country and More Adventures in Arkham Country should have some local adventures that could work for a bunch of students. However they are OOP and expensive to obtain.
  22. I'd look at one of the adventures relating to Miskatonic University as they are students there. Check out the listings on the Yog-Sothoth site wiki for details including summaries of the adventures.
  23. I believe the slipcase set (what you call the boxed set ) is a Kickstarter option only so no I don't believe you can order it unless a store ordered one.
