  1. But what were your players aiming for? Feels like bit of a railroad.
  2. Hell will freeze over before almost all of the stuff produced by the JC gets an official yay or nay by Chaosium doing competition. In fact I should imagine unless they are central places, characters, what have you, Chaosium will avoid contradicting the JC stuff, cause unless it is very bad it will have done Chaosium's work for it. In the end, I think its a pretty poor policy you are sticking to, and if you had it in the past you would have lost out on all the Reaching Moon stuff and all the Drastic stuff too. But your loss. 🙂
  3. There have been cults available, I doubt the cults in Cog will be that different to the long form cults in CoP, CoT, the fairly easy to get cults in White Wolf, the various bits in other RQ products and Zola Fel in Pavis and what have you. Oh, and let's not forget Ernalda in the RQ3 box. The short form cults in the rulebook aren't bad either and there is more info I think in various scenario books? So to say there is no cult info is a little disingenuous. I think that they have been working on Cog pretty much since the publication of RQ:G If not before so I'm not sure how it could have had higher priority? I don't know why they aren't doing the Pdf before the book, but to be honest I don't care. There is more than enough culty stuff out there already. And if you are playing in Sartar [yawn] then Orlanth does everything you need, cept wipe your arse for you and you never know, tip him the wink and he might do that as well, or at least get Elmal to do it.
  4. I never understand what people mean by that. Some of the people [many] are the same people that produced all the recent Chaosium products. Is it the name that impresses you? If it is then all of the JC stuff has 'licenced by Chaosium', if it's not who exactly is it, that so impresses? Cause I'm buggered if I know.
  5. They are only trapped in the net since the Great Compromise, before that they could do what they wanted and they did, that's how Glorantha got F'ed in the A.
  6. That's not really weird, that's pretty standard fantasy fare. At least the first couple of phrases. So are your chairs working towards personhood, what about gold leaf? That would be weird but not that interesting. 5/10 weirdness.
  7. I'm not sure what difference that makes. Was everyone there suddenly illuminated? I assume you don't mean 'lit up'? And as JRE has said it was Daysenerus that was revealed, and he didn't illuminate [I mean philosophically] the other army to death. Lots of things fought alongside Nysalor, interacted with him, lived in his realm. It doesn't automatically make them illuminated, anymore that fighting alongside a troll makes you eat babies.
  8. Does he have the Sky rune? Is he in the sky? He may be a member of the Sky Pantheon, but He is no longer a Sky deity. If it doesn't walk like a duck and doesn't Quack like a duck, its not a duck. Yelm split into several deities before he went to hell, Bijiif [he's the one that went to hell] I would say no longer is a Sky God. I can't remember where the dividing of the realm is, can you remind me, please?
  9. If you read my post properly, you will notice I never said they were. Bollocks. I know you know the word. It was a word play on the word, 'bollocks'.
  10. For the love of Go...Something not a deity, NO! If that were to happen, I think the whole dumb God's War cycle would start again, and this time there would be No Ginna Jar to save us.
  11. The LBJ (Lyndon B Johnson) is an Orlanthi Myth. Sun Worshippers everywhere would say, 'Quest? What Quest?' or 'Rebellus Terminus and the other Rebels were drawn to Yelm by his command of Divine Justice* and made to atone for their sins, and so the world began to return to rightness, with Yelm leading the return to the surface worldm proceeded by his heralds and harbingers. Yelm is the god of justice.
  12. Elmal's dead baby, Elmal's dead. Why is there only one Light deity? Because someone up there loves Structuralism?
  13. No he isn't a sky god, he isn't even in the Sky anymore! His official Rune is Heat, which dates back to Cults of Terror more than forty years ago. He maybe a Fire God, but he's no longer a Sky god, he gave that up when he decided to stay on the Earth. This is all detailed in GRoY and elsewhere. They are called the LOWfires for a reason, i.e. they are no longer part of the Sky. Yelmalio isn't tied to illumination any more than Orlanth is. I suggest we avoid the Elmal/Kargzant/Yelmalio/Antirius et al discussion, for both our own sanities. I am certainly not talking about Pantheons.
  14. Molanni has the Air Rune. But is she a storm god? Is she Brastalos*! I separate out Storm and Air, one is not the other, just like Heat is not Light. There really should be a way of differentiating the two. *I'm sure you understand my word substitution, but if not, it sounds very much like 'bullocks'.
  15. "A quick reality check that the Lunar Empire has ruled for over four hundred years, so we should never forget the Lunars" So the part of my reply about the Welsh et al was in reference to this. She's not a Storm god for the Dara Happans, and is very much an Air God, in a similar way to Lodril not being a Sky God any more.
  16. So, When the Great Compromise is enacted and (all) the dead follow the Sun back to the surface world, why do some Gods stay dead? Thinking of Baroshi from Snake Pipe Hollow, yet many others come back (Ernalda)? This Is (this) separate from annihilation from Chaos?
  17. Terribly sad to hear. RQ needs and deserves to be in other languages. This needs to rectified, have you thought of getting a group together and putting in a bid for the rights yourself? Then Gofundme or Kickstarter et al.
  18. Nice summation of the Orlanthi view of her, I'm not looking at her from that angle. She's born before that deity of violence or at the same time. The 'Addi' is both a digging stick and a spear/javelin, so if it's a dildo it does a lot of rooting around too. Dara Happa doesn't need storms to have rain, nor is that how she's described before being tricked by [a] Hare. She's a nice counterpoint to the overwhelmingly macho air gods and while she's part of Yelm's Empire, she plays an important part in shielding mortals from his pure gaze. At least IMGlorantha. I can't see any mention of her birth from Umath, though she is 'Mother of Moons'. Lots of people rule over others for hundreds of years and are still seen as interlopers by many who are 'subsumed', ask the Welsh, the Ukrainians or the Basques or, well, you get the idea.
  19. The rules for over 100% are, to put it mildly, 'Rubbish'. For something so difficult obtain, they really are boring and unexceptional.
  20. There's bucket loads if you want to 'go deeper' [into what?], 'The Stafford Library' for starters, should keep you occupied for decades. But if you want to play flavour of the week, the Cults books should keep you busy I suppose. It's easy to see why Elmal is streets ahead of Yelmalio, you get Fire Blade and Arrow nether of which require you possibly never to wear armour for some minor gift on a dice roll. Not sure why it's a debate, oh, now I remember, some people think players need a crutch to role play. :s
  21. If you have been playing that long, you will already have most of the Lightbringers in longform [I don't think they are going to be radically different [different probably]], the ones in CoP are still playable and there is a longform Ernalda about too, so I'm really not sure what you are worried about. The other Wind and Earth Orlanthi gods are small fry compared.
  22. I thought there were lots of exceptions, creatures created by a particular deity?
  23. You know they can't see the future, right? Gods are very limited in what they can do, that's why they uses their pawns to do it.
