Adventure monograph

Just had a quick read through this monograph and came across something I hope is a typo in The Sign of the Black Goat.

>FEMALE CHARACTERS

>If trying to remain close the restricted role of women in

>Medieval times, laying a female character may prove to be

>challenging.

Charlie Krank really needs to have at least a quick read through these things.

Ooops, says he with a red face. Yes, that's a typo, but obviously feel free to interpret the sentence anyway you like. ;)

Oh, and I'm very happy my scenario is in the monograph. Typos and all.

Well, I got the PDF yesterday evening and enjoyed a quick read through it.

Quick impressions:

Skulls and Nuke Bombs could have easily been the title for this BRP monograph.

King John's Treasure and Escape From The Slavelands caught my immediate interest. One for historic reasons, and the other for the cool Gamma World memories invoked.

Much more printer friendly than my PDF of Outpost 19, which is a big plus.

I worry too much about my own maps, as this PDF shows. Being functional is good enough, they don't have to be works of art.

Though some definite themes run through this PDF, there should be something useful for every BRP GM, given the variety of adventures.

I'm sure I've seen the cover illustration somewhere ...

To my surprise, this has 2 Fantasy Europe scenarios and a Wild West one. Lots of Alternate Earth stuff, then.

I've skipped through it and it looks good to me. It covers different genres, Fantasy, Horror (although it is medieval horror), post-apocalypse and Sci-Fi, so there's something for everybody.

Ok, it took a bit longer than I wanted, but I now have the Adventure Monograph.

They all look great, but I have to say, Sarah's really excites me as one of my all time favorite games in my youth was gamma world. And boy was I surprised to find myself immortalized as an NPC in Trifs adventure, even got my INT right, spooky.

I can’t wait to sit down and start reading these, as soon as Sword & Spell is done; I plan to run them all. Any idea if they plan on doing a print version?

Now, why isnt this book sitting on the shelf next to the BRP core book? I mean, what a better way to show the versatility of BRP than with a book covering every genre from fantasy to Scifi, and everything in between.

Dustin said to look for a print copy in April. Hopefully since they've used all this art before they won't run into the same problem with their printer that delayed Ashes to Ashes.

Pretty sure they haven't used all the art before.

Well, it has one science fiction adventure, so I am tempted to buy it,

although the price would be a little high for only one adventure I may

be able to use.

Perhaps someone could be so kind to give me a few more informations

about "Planet-Fall, by Bruce Thomson" to make it a bit easier for me to

decide whether to buy the PDF ?

Thank you ! :)

I have not gotten that far yet, but I can tell you that you are an NPC in one of the adventures. (Guess who's ?) You hang out with Shaira's gang of taxcollectors and wear rusty armor.

So far I am loving this monograph. So much so that I am only allowing myself to read a little at a time. It really showcases what BRP is capable of.

Well, this is an almost perfect description - my father always wanted me to

work for the Finanzamt (tax collection service), and my lady often complains

about my lack of fashion sense ... :D

Yay! I've only just looked at this scenario - immortalized in a chainmail bikini at last! :thumb: The Gods of Valhalla smile upon us all!

:D I couldn't resist. I actually had great fun writing up the NPCs! In aftersight I'm very happy I did the poll though, as my sensitivity skill is VERY low and I could easily have offended people there.

I'm improving the descriptions in the review section, planning to make direct links from the front page to the review section, but include profile links of the authors who are also members of BRP Central in the description.

Is anyone of the following authors members of BRP Central?

Andrei Baltakmans, Jean-Philipe Chapleau, R.J. Christensen, Matt Steele, Jason Williams, Simon Yee & Bruce Thomson?

Hello Jason, welcome to the forum ! :)

While I usually do not like post-apocalyptic scenarios, I really like your adven-

ture, probably because in my opinion it has a very strong science fiction fee-

ling to it - in fact, it is just the kind of adventure that I would have needed

when I was playing Traveller - The New Era.

When I did first read your adventure, I regretted that it did not fit into my

current setting and campaign, but then I decided that I like it too much, and

that it would be worth to change some parts of my setting to become able

to introduce it.

I plan to make a few minor changes in the adventure's background, moving it

from our world's future to a remote colony world of my setting that suffered

a major desaster and slipped into a dictatorship, with the characters as a re-

cently arrived and now stranded starship crew that has to work with the Un-

marked because they need the "blind spot" in the surveillance system to lea-

ve the planet (and inform the Federation Patrol about the situation there).
