  1. We use miniatures a lot when we play Magic World / BRP but not at all with CoC. Maybe it’s because most of our CoC games have very little combat. You might check out what Delta Green players like. It has a bigger combat focus.
  2. I completely agree but I can tolerate that part. Like I said if there were to clean it up and re-release it I would be all in!
  3. I can't answer the question completely as I have never played Ringworld though I have read the rules for Superworld. I think what Stormbringer did for Chaosium was to bring a set of SIMPLE, medium crunch rules to the fantasy genre in a way that RuneQuest wasn't able to do. The Stormbringer books are concise with just what you need to run a fantasy setting with nothing extra. It wasn't that RuneQuest was unsucessful it was just aimed at a player that wanted a more gritty and realistic approximation of fantasy. Add to that the unique demon magic rules offered by Stormbringer and the great playability of the Young Kingdoms and you had the perfect game. If Chaosium would take those same rules and put them into a high quality generic fantasy (as they did with Magic World - but higher quality) I would scoop it up in a second.
  4. Not just him. Recently I have had problems seeing images on my iPhone. I can’t see this one for example.
  5. So what does the jpeg show? I can’t see anything on my iPhone.
  6. My copy of Hudson & Brand from Stygian Fox just arrived. It’s absolutely beautiful!
  7. Yup. Downloading requires you to be a member.
  8. Any more on this? Sounds exciting!
  9. Sorry for the double post. Actually I just read the description of Blood Rock and it’s sounds like my kinda thing DriveThru says it’s both a sandbox and linear. How linear? Is it just linear in terms of progression or does it force specific player choice to advance?
  10. I’m game. Could you talk a little bit about Hessaret’ Treasure and Secrets of Blood Rock beyond their descriptions?
  11. I’m game. Could you talk a little bit about Hessaret’ Treasure and Secrets of Blood Rock beyond their descriptions?
  12. Okay I picked it up and it looks good. I have picked up about 10 Cthulhu related supplements this year (I’m a new CoC fan) but this will be the first thing I have gotten for 7th Edition.
  13. So I found Petersen's Abominations on Chaosium's site but it seems to be PDF and I prefer paper. Is their any intention to sell this is soft cover anytime soon?
  14. This sounds VERY intresting. Is the original available somewhere?
  15. Great review! Petersen's Abominations just shot to the top of my shopping list!
  16. Thanks you very much. It didn't seem like just another shoot and loot and you confirmed that. I will pick it today!
  17. Just thought I would put in my two cents... I am always in the market for D100 adventures and I am willing to pay more than just a couple of dollars for good quality. But quality is key. For me a good adventure has some investigation, some combat, lots of interaction between players and NPCs and makes logical sense (No ancient giant dungeons filled with monsters unless there is rational behind it.). I am aware that expecting logic in a fantasy game may be a bridge to far but my players are engineers. As for as system I am flexible and would be okay with nearly anything (Maybe not adventures for story or narrative games). PS - If the adventure is low fantasy / low magic that is a plus!
  18. Okay this is 35 pages long. How I missed that on DriveThru I have no idea. Anybody read this? Can anyone provide any thoughts? How long does it take to run?
  19. What's your thoughts behind this? Is this because it's hard for a player to play a character smarter than he or she is?
  20. That's the way I am now. I started off with Magic World which is a streamlined set of BRP rules for fantasy and then I added things from the Big Gold Book and from this forum as I have movedd into other genres. Currently running Cthulhu with rules from Magic World and Enlightened Magic.
  21. Hi Everybody I saw Mythic Constantinople: Life's Long Consequences on DriveThru and I was wondering how many pages the adventure is? I am looking for something to fill two three or four hour sessions - will this work or is it for shorter sessions. Note I don't have Mythic Constantinople but if the module is intriguing I would probably buy a copy. Thanks!
