  1. You can agree with me any time you want, I agree with you, sometimes.
  2. Except there is. In RQ2/3, I can go to a Temple at any time and repray Rune Magic. In RQG, I have to wait until a Holy Day. That is a massive change, in my opinion. I would allow a Priest/Lord to repray at any time.
  3. Says a troll! I can see no reason as to why they can't be made. They were always outside the rules anyway, so should still be available. Just do it as a HeroQuest and you can do anything.
  4. The original maps were and they fitted along the borders, so you could expand the Dragon Pass map to Balazar and then to Elder Wilds for a really big Dragon Pass game. It's effectively unplayable, though, as there are too many counters spread across too wide an area.

    Spirit rune

So, which runes a Praxian has depends on the rules system used? Bad, bad, bad move ...
  6. Some people don't want to listen, to make a point ...
  7. Thanks - I'll add this to the Big Rubble as soon as I can, probably some time next week.
  8. Maybe the Spirit World is the Underworld, at least in parts. I see the Spirit Plane as connecting with all the other Planes, Mundane Plane, Hero plane and God Plane. Once you reach the Inner World then you have accessed the Underworld, or the Sky or wherever else Spirits go to when they die.
  9. None, apparently, probably for the best.
  10. You can run a RQ game using RQC, but would have more options and flexibility with RQG. Having said that, the games are so compatible that if you add Passions and Rune Pools from RQG, use Multispell as a Stackable 1 Point Spell and add a few odds and ends, you pretty much get the RQG experience with RQC. The only thing that is drastically different is Character Generation, and of course the colour artwork but we are getting close to Spanish Inquisition territory. Oh, and Runes ...
  11. Likewise. Have downloaded it and it looks even better than the original. I do like the cover pictures of both Borderlands and RQ Companion.
  12. It looks as though these should have been picked up. Drive Chariot is clearly Drive [Chariot] with the brackets missed off, each drive [Vehicle Type] starts at 05 and is increased separately. Art is a generic skill, so each Art[Art] starts at 00, so Art [Sculpture] and Art [Painting[ both start at 00 and are increased separately. Same for game, it is generic and each starts at 15, so Game [Duck Golf] and Game [Elfball] both start at 15 but increase separately. I don't know about Evaluate or Farm, as I haven't seen the different references.
  13. Anything that contradicts previous canon is a retcon. It has always happened in Glorantha, since the very early days. If you read some of the early Wyrms Footnotes articles, you see that the names of Deities have been changed and what they do has been changed, even parentage has been changed. Does it matter? Yes and No. Yes, because people buy into a particular version of events and don't like it when it changes. No, because that is the kind of thing that fires up religious debate in the real world, so could well do the same in Glorantha. For me, these retcons are the same as a Glorantha Hero going on a HeroQuest and coming back with a new insight into a deity. His followers are going to believe that and follow him, other people won't care or will stick to their previous ways and think of the Hero as a heretic or just plain wrong. In a Polytheistic setting, there is a lot of differences in how a certain Deity is worshipped. So, just treat them as a different way of looking at the Deities concerned and stick to your preferred way if that's what you like.
  14. Personally, I stopped thinking in terms of "letting a player get away with something" years ago. RPGs are just games, for everyone to enjoy, I don't really care, as a GM, whether Players are using the rules to the max, or concentrate on roleplaying, or their PC's goals, or just turn up to play a game. Whatever makes it fun for everyone is good to me.
  15. The Guide to Glorantha does not cover things in depth, it only provides a superficial coverage of many things. I would expect that some subjects would get a more complex/in depth coverage in future supplements. So, a Pentian supplement would explore the different Pentian deities and how they relate to each other and to other sun deities, for example.
  16. I see Yamsur as Yelm's Man in Genert's Garden, a local Sun God. As the Son of Yelm, he would have importance anyway.

    Yelm's Route

And that, in a nutshell, is the God Learners' Secret
  18. The fellow who betrayed the Spartans at Thermopylae was left-handed and wasn't allowed to fight in the phalanx. There is also a castle in Scotland where the spiral staircases go the wrong way, as the people in the Castle were normally left-handed.
  19. Put your cursor in between the sections you want to break and do two carriage returns. That should divide the quote into two sections, like I just did with your quote. Or just highlight the text to be commented and press the Quote Selection button that magically appears. It also quotes quotes, which is really handy.
  20. As the original emperor was Aether Primolt, that makes Yamsur Aether, which is highly unlikely, as Yamsur is then his own grandfather. Yelm was the Second Emperor, after Aether Primolt, Aether Primolt the Fire/Sky representative in the Celestial Court.

    Yelm's Route

I think what that means is that in Sea/Fire Season Yelm's path goes from East to West, but more northwards in the Sky, but in Dark/Storm Season the path is more southwards in the Sky, but still travels from East to West. Presumably in Earth Season it is bang overhead, so maybe that should be Fire Season, I don't know.
  22. As accurate as I could make it, based on various maps.
  23. This is why I like the way that Revolution D100 does skills. You have a kill of Perform and then Traits of Act, Feign Death or Voice Mimicry, Stealth could have Traits of Shadowing, Hide in Plain Sight, Move in Cover and so on. It saves having a really long skills list on a character sheet as well.
  24. My map of the Big Rubble has the Blind King' Castle detailed, from one of Ian Thomson's P&BR Companions. Some of the buildings are named on the map, but no descriptions are given.
  25. Keep it simple, keep it quick and keep it exciting. Don't get bogged down in minutiae of rules, don't spend 4 hours on Character Generation, don't use a beginning scenario that has a lot of complexity and needs experienced roleplayers. Don't put things into the scenario that need them to search every inch of a wall, for example. If they are used to playing Video Games, then use some of that imagery. If they like certain styles of TV Show then use that imagery as well. Be gentle with them. There is nothing more off putting than "You get an arrow on your eye and are killed" in the first scene. If a PC dies, then make it memorable.
