  1. I am going to go simple here. Things that contribute to the unmaking, entropy, these are chaotic. Things that do not, are not.
  2. There is a wee bit of a difference in interpretation between "The Vikings" movie and "The Vikings" TV show, (just a smidge), but I don’t feel the former suffers horribly for it. I mean, we all prefer the modern one, I am sure but it lacks one thing, Kirk Douglas.
  3. Just watched Tolkien, great movie but I discovered as an old man I have become quite the crybaby. Yes, broke down again. No spoilers but I will say give it a watch. A delight for geeks!
  4. Ali the unstable? Could be a new moniker... or not. Whatever the case may be, never let them clip your wings in your flights of fancy. Keep flying true!
  5. and so ya used a duck... clear as tapioca!
  6. I am going to take a guess... You seem to not be as green as all that so, I will assume that you have not made a mistake and that the data you quote is correct. If so, there are a lot of little details that have been missed, typos that have not been caught and a hell of an errata sheet/booklet to be written, i have to assume that is the case here. If the table does not work the rule of 1/5 of a skill being a special and 1/20 being a critical remains true. All that being said does not change the fact that the game is great and just needs a clean up in aisle three as it were.Good luck and enjoy. Oh and keep paying attention to your intuition. It seems to work fine.
  7. I see no reason why not, hell make it a physical change if you wish. It is a magic world and Prax has some of the greater oddities of many odd centric places. As a GM I would be incredibly pleased with this take.I wonder which of the odd places in Prax would be best... Plateau of Statuesm Krjalki bog and would it be possible to interact with chaos and just have something odd happen but not be tainted with chaos No, thank you. A quick question to the hive mind: I have not looked into the modern shaman (RQ G) or that much of Prax of late. Is SteveMND correct in saying there are gender restrictions on shamans in Prax.
  8. I like this! Would you mind giving its pedigree in a bit more detail for an encumbrance fan who figures “things" might just be the way to go but is seriously disappointed with how it is implemented in RQ G. Oh, and as a bit of a thread necromancer myself, do not apologize. From a search perspective it makes a lot of sense to revive rather than reboot. Thanks in advance whether you care to expound a little more or not. Cheers
  9. Is that a friggin’ duck at the end of your sentence. One word... WOOHOO! the first emoji I can get behind!
  10. I would say the Hutterites and the Anabaptists are a bit mellower than that... those lutherans though... I don’t trust 'em at all. But seriously thanks for the explanation. I see where you are coming from though I can’t quite agree. No worries I am more a historian than a theologian. I will suggest for the sake of an excellent thread that we castigate those damn Orlanthi instead and leave everyone else alone for the nonce. If necessary, we could take this to another forum, but I figure we got each other’s points and can quit our squatting here in any case. Cheers
  11. Apologies, I am not understanding. Would you mind elucidating, the catholics after Luthers nailing of his points to the doors of the church were not "maintaining the status quo” (being conservative)? Apologies again for a quick thread drift all. If this goes on too long I promise to move it to the Inn. cheers
  12. Curiosity compels me to ask; why would you not call the ruling catholics (pre-reformation) conservatives. trying to hang on to power against the rebellious Lutherans, followers of Hutter and other protestants and the Catholics of the counterrevolution (post Council of Trent) as reactionaries (and bloody evil ones at that)?
  13. 66, hmm? SO I’m a Jedi, eh...Cool, and so much better then the other possibility... Ooooh, yuk! Think I would rather be a jedi ifitsallthesamewithyou! *quotes from Urban Dictionary.
  14. <Cue stirring music, flag blowing in the wind, and the VOICE!> This sounds like a job for... <Fade down music turn off fan> no not superman, what are you, 12? <turn it all back on,sigh> ...The Jonstown Compendium™!
  15. Keep in mind that a global message asking for a specific response (or lack of a response as the case may be) from your fellow posters will take a few cycles of replies to go by before all (well, an orlanthi all) will see the message and then a few more for people to care more for the message then their own posts to actually take heed and quit replying in the unasked for way. Even then you will still get newcomers who do not see the plea (starting the cycle again on a smaller scale) and of course, the perversity of human nature will rear its ugly head and some will simply ignore the request figuring they will do what they will do and what right have you to set an agenda just because... well, you set the agenda. :•). And in the end there will always be posts that you don’t want. Again, you get what you pay for. Good luck herding your cats, oh great cat herder! Cheers
  16. Do you mean me? If so I am glad someone noticed I have been away! Editing modules, planning one of my own (it'll never see the light of day...) working the day and night job and... Plottng some horrible thing for all of you.... Bwahahahahaha! And I a happy to say it looks like this might see the light of day. Well, okay it’s closer than my module anyway. Crossing fingers.
  17. Yes please, and a new copy of our catalog as well. My last one blew up.
  18. Important Smocial Indofaction? Whats that? Hand me those dice and let’s get this game on the road.
  19. Nice! Always on point but I am out of thanks today. L:ove the Al Capp reference... Bring on the Shmoos! Hm, bad things about my fave people, the Orlanthi? Well, being a democratic socialist. I despise the form of government. The tenets, and dogma seem good but, It is quite arbitrary in practise if not in doctrine, Being outlawed is a nice clean thing usually from a societal point of view, but to all but the strong it could very well be a death sentence. Anyway I could go on but the OP was to simply find flaws and this is my contribution to his excellent thread.
  20. Well, Darius, simply brilliant! Though I quote only one sentence (the most germane I think), I like all the thoughts here. You know that teutonic sense of humour, I think you just fell victim to it. Pheres nails it in the quote below, I think. Oh, and now that the laws have finally seen reason in California, I think we can safely say that Greg was a stoner and not have to put up with too much flack for saying it. There have been a lot of creative geniuses that were stoners. Greg was just one amongst many.
  21. Well in honour of the young fella—Kirk Douglas—might I simply say: I AM SPARTACUS!
