  1. And before your news we were operating under the assumption we we the only one in the world (grin). Nice to see we have company and we will happily accept the we are number two to your visionary efforts, jrutila. Ludo, perhaps less so, seeing as he wanted the podcast out sooner and I kept slowing him down to make sure it was okay. Still, I tip my hat to you folk (and apologize immensely to Ludo, sorry), Bravo! Now, there is a chance that Joerg will know how to pronounce your name and your podcasts name but if you send us pronunciations as wavs to bill@windwords.fm (is this right Ludo) or, actually better, use joerg (our german speaker) in place of bill. it would be better, We will give you a shout as well. That bad, eh? Sorry! Thanks all for the replies and kind words Please stay tuned as we are already working on episode 02 planned for early April.
  2. Ya know kid, you’re a monster, and I mean that in the 21st century way that all the kids are using today. For all the other old fogeys, this is a great compliment.
  3. They can attack us on the beaches, they can attack us on the river, they can attack us beneath the waves, we shall never give up, we shall never surrender! Now that’s a variation, I can get behind!
  4. Interestingly, I tithe 10% in a unique way. Back a few years ago when a 35 hour week for 48 weeks was the norm around my home, I decided to tithe 10% of my labour and skills to non-profit and charitable groups I liked and respected. To explain. my average work year had about 1700 hours of my skills and labour going to projects that I may not have liked or respected but that paid for my living so 170 hours would go to projects I loved for free. To this day I consider a year to be successful if I have kicked in 170 hours to a good cause.
  5. I like this point, it says "the best things in life are free” and there is truth to that. While paying for something can gain one a valuable experience, it’s nothing compared to the joys that simply cannot be bought. Friendship and camaraderie are, of course, beyond price. A baby’s smile and that game that lasts until dawn with everyone nodding off to sleep around a friends’s living room are special and beyond a king’s ransom.
  6. And of course I should thank our truly wonderful beta testers: Ali the Helering Crel Dethstrok9 g33k Lloyd Dupont jajagappa klesker Minlister MOB Scott-Martin SDLeary soltakss Runeblogger And if I missed anyone please speak up so I can include you
  7. Enter a podcast of wonder A grizzled old man with a poorly constructed box under his arm limps into the centre of the dusty square, coughs and wipes phlegm speckled lips, scratches his butt and spits. None of the busy merchants or their eager clients spare more than a suspicious glance in his direction. He places the box in the centre of the square and steps shakily on to it and it immediately falls apart with a crash spilling him bodily into the dust, with many loud and profane curses.. A couple of urchins run out and help him to his feet, fleeing after finding his purse as empty as it looked—the old man’s boots flailing on empty air instead of their butts as they disappear into the now gathering throng. The entire square begins to chortle, and then laughs begin to ring out, first one then another as he proudly brushes himself off while eyeing his now gathered audience. Figuring it to be as ready as it can be, he clears his throat and begins. “I am sure you have many questions” he begins in a surprisingly loud and sonorous voice… “yes, you over there. Speak up, hmm. Will it be dangerous, you ask,” “Will what be dangerous, you old fool”. retorts the surprised and befuddled merchant. Another demands to know, “What have you been smoking, old man. Make sense!" Ignoring these retorts, he continues his nonsensical speech to the confused throng, “Why yes, extremely dangerous. You ma’am, your question... am I qualified and is your safety assured, no and no.” he responds to a bemused woman holding a casaba melon in one hand whilst she shakes her bejeweled and braided hair, which dances about in a fetching way, gems sparkling as they catch the morning sun. “And you in the back, the timid one... excuse me, can you speak up, man, Ah yes I see, you ask has this been tested?” a small nebbishy looking chap with a scraggly beard and turban peers over the shoulder of a large woman. “Yes, that is exactly what, I ...” begins the startled and bewildered little man only to be shushed in mid-sentence by the large woman and then hurried away, feet scrambling to find firm ground to the amusement of all. “Great question, NO! Which is why I have assembled you all here: the bravest of the brave, true heroes all! 8. Not even an ad, Jeff? Sorry had no idea that would be crossing a line.
  9. Ah but for sheer conic effect (which has to count for something) I like the former.
  10. Friggin heck G33k is there nothin’ ya can’t expound on?
  11. Holy crap, really! That is terrible.
  12. I actually seem to recall this being the case in the old days. Surprised me then as well. Kind of like casting heal on a countermagiced individual needing to overcome the countermagic.
  13. Any old grognards having the text or even graphic for this want to post it up? Just curious.
  14. C’est ca, mon ami! If you know my friends they would say D'Accord, c'est vrai!
  15. There used to be a company in my city called Sir Unicorn Enterprises that not only organized LARPs but would do a dinner theatre like experience in one’s home or a local mansion or a local restaurant for Murder Mysteries in costume with actors. I am not sure I would want to condemn professionals (be they actors, working women a poster called prostututes who have enough problems as is, or Game Masters for hire). I do prefer the volunteer amateur nature of our hobby, but I also have been known to say, 'chacun a son gout, n’est-ce pas?'
  16. Hell, that ain’t stupid, I want a pay check as well :)
  17. Your message is no longer required as Joerg added tags and I edited my message but I still got a chuckle. Thanks soltakss!
  18. Thank you Falconer, that was very nice of you! I do not know your age, but us old farts dig nostalgia! I am happy and pleased to announce I have 99% of the above (well, all but one actually).
  19. To which I must answer, sauve, qui peut! Flee, man, flee!
  20. Thanks for the kind words Crel. As I said before, you keep writing ‘em this good and the editing is a a joy! Cheers
  21. Just had a look back to see Glorion was not the only one who could have benefited from that tutorial. In any case, Jon Hunter crafted a very nice topic (in my defence, the reason for this drift was I was finding it very hard to navigate it and thought to ameliorate that situation) and for now, I think we have squatted for long enough. Sorry Jon, et al, back to youse guys and too much Rune Magic... If any one is interested in more tricks and a discussion on them follow the link at the top of the page to soltakss' excellent topic. Cheers
  22. Perhaps it’s a patience thing, After you have selected the text, while it is still grey keep the cursor immobile until the the rectangle (thick black lines, text stating quote selection) appears looking something like the image in the quote below... Keep at it and it will become easy ( I have been using computers since 1974 so I am getting used to them).
  23. Just mentioning the only time I would not award a check... so for me, worth it, for you maybe not.
