Question - help a Keeper out!
Bill the barbarian replied to Sheryl Nantus's topic in Cult of Chaos - forum now closed
Sheryl I would go with MGF here rather than rules, what would be fun to do... Especially seeing as fun has little to do with pregnancy (after the fact, that is <mind out of the gutter g33k>) in our world. And then I actually look at g33k’s reply to find... surprise, surprise, once again, we concur. -
A new cult of chaos
Bill the barbarian replied to Bill the barbarian's topic in Cult of Chaos - forum now closed
No actually, no mis-summoning at all. We will need Triff to be able to create Cult of Chaos for RQ in our hidden little area.... I think I am more than enough of a sorcerer to know which demon or deity I might need. But thanks anyway/ -
What the heck... Check that out!

See. that’s what I am talking about, The only request I have is seeing as this is an area to point out rules we are not quite sure about remember to cite rules, so others can verify your sightings of oddities, and if it is a house rule or an opinion for discussion be like g33k and mention that. Cheers -

Bill the barbarian replied to Bill the barbarian's topic in RuneQuest
Yeah, I know, that was the reason this thread existed. It is impossible to catch all that. IMPOSSIBLE! let me say it again... IM POSS I BLE! With 400 pages of rules, 7 editions of game spread over 40ish years.... This thread is a very necessary one if you wish to have a chance to stay on top of our fave game! And a damn good reason for the thread to continue to exist. I am hoping that now that folk see it is a necessary tool to be able to catch all these little rule differences that sharp eyes and minds can find; the oddities, the rule changes from earlier versions. You know, for us older and less sharp eyed and minded grognards. And for the newcomers looking at what will be over 1000 pages of rules in the core system before the end of 2020. Find them, cite them, discuss them... Hell offer house rule alternatives for them if ya wish. As time permits, and my health... I will be resurrecting a few of these geriatric puppies. Oldies but goldies! Like me Cheers -
Let me give you one more answer, In RQ 3 they spelled it out as simplicity, you can make all the complexity you wish, but it is not germane to the system. This is also why 5 is the golden number, for readying a spell or any weapon, getting up, surprise penalty... again in RQ 3 the authors did say make charts if you wish but they would not be.

Great good news if true, I love my RQ G books, but I realize work needs to be done and for precedence see RQ 1 and the better edit of RQ 2 which came out... what 2 years later! Oh sure, ruin my mounting joy with horrible reality!

A farewell to a king!
Bill the barbarian replied to Bill the barbarian's topic in Alastor's Skull Inn
I am not sure how one can be a fantasy or sci fi fan and not like Rush and If I made you think happy thoughts sir, even when bearing sad news, it is simply payback for RQ 6! Karma, you get what you give, which means The Professor should have been able to leave quite content in the knowledge he made a lot of people very happy.- 8 replies

Farewell Neil Peart, Thanks for the soundtrack to many of my games over the years. This king of drummers not only propelled one of Canada’s greatest rock bands, Rush, but launched many of my games into another plane with tales about heroes slinging guitars against interplanetary despots, and warring trees. He passed away Tuesday, leaving me many memories and the desire to share one of my rock gods with the world! Check his drumming below, his onslaught begins at 40 seconds and ended last Tuesday! There is unrest in the forest There is trouble with the trees For the maples want more sunlight And the oaks ignore their pleas. Simple, yes, but what an awesome beginning, I saw then perform this when i was thirteen, got to see them a few more times and even got to work for them. What a, pardon my saying, RUSH!

This is the main reason I turn to the Guide to Glorantha for my Great Old One smiting problems. With Cthulhu I recommend wielding the two volume set and the free Turnip Twaddler with optional Idiots Guide to Insanity as well. Good Luck (you will need it)
