I never played any games where the pc's were so accomplished and certainly agree that two Rune Lords would likely go on, and on and on until exhausted or some hefty Rune magic tipped the balance. Sever spirit anyone?

I hope you use combat styles, as it is a house rule i use in my RQII games. All the different attacks and parries lost their attraction over the years.

P92 of Pavis Gateway to adventure mentions the tent village of Far End. Where is it located, I can't find it on the map?

So who are you planning to be the opposition in this heroquest? Your hero sure picked a place to rest up in! I think I might incorporate some of this in to my own campaign. Hints of weather change, worried locals. My party are on their way to Pavis soon, so keep us posted on what is going on in your game please

I prefer the RQ II SRs. 12 good 10 bad. I've used them for so long it is set in stone for me.

I'd use River of Heaven as a set of rules. Their Low Grav characters have a lower Str and Con compared to baseline human characters. Their Siz is the same.

Several of the players in my Prax game cook in character, collect spices and ask npcs about styles etc. When they stayed with some river folk the food was quite alien to them. Lots of spiced crab and fish stews. We generally play out most night stops and camps, so food and the conversations around the fire are a big part of our game. Stories are told, plans made and problems solved....sometimes with anger and threats!

I agree with keeping the real world comparisons to a minimum. I'd be going "eh??" at the mix of cultures mentioned. Just describe the major players and a bit about the world in general. Describe Pavis more in depth and go... It's all we had back in the 'first age' and we had lots of fun. Shape the world with them.
