  1. this would be perfect for a pocket mod. I've used this for NPC and Monster sheets. http://www.pocketmod.com/ Miles
  2. This is an excerpt from the book page 124 , If you don't already have it already here's a link to the RQ6 essentials pdf. http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/130816/RuneQuest-Essentials?src=hottest_filtered&filters=0_0_1500_0_0 I don't run my games With RQ6 but I do steal a bit from it. Miles In summary, Passions can be used thus: ҉҉To augment another skill, reflecting the depth of one’s feeling and how it drives action. When used in this regard the Passion adds 20% of its value to a skill being used, as long as the augmentation is thematically and dramatically important. ҉҉As an ability in its own right to drive choices, desires and emotional actions and responses. When used in this way a standard roll is made against a Passion to determine how strongly the character thinks and feels about something. If a roll is a success then the character acts in-line with what the Passion would dictate. If the roll fails then the character can act freely without feeling constrained by the Passion’s drives. ҉҉To oppose other Passions – even those held by the same character. This is typically used where two Passions would conflict. For instance a personal love might dictate a course of action that would be contrary to an oath or loyalty. Here use an opposed roll between the two Passions with the more successful determining how the character acts. ҉҉As a general measure of depth of commitment, belief and loyalty to a cause. The higher the Passion’s value, the more committed the character is. Characters with similar Passions can compare and contrast their ratings to determine who exhibits the deeper commitment. ҉҉To resist some form of psychological manipulation or magical domination. In certain cases where a character is being forced into performing an act contrary to his Passions, he may use substitute his Passion for the usual Willpower in the opposed roll.
  3. I would make it a skill like piety from MRQ2. Bonuses and penalties can be added depending on your allegiance score and your gods allegiance. Passions from RQ6 is also another way of doing this, and could be a lot less book keeping. Just my 2 cents, I like to keep my games simple so the less fiddly the better. Keep up the good work, I've enjoyed all the stuff you've done so far Miles
  4. I would prefer a generic set of Sci-fi rules. Something that can easly adapted for hard sci-fi to over the top space opera. If they put in a setting make it a small system with a couple of competing factions and maybe an impending doom plot, just to get you started. People's tastes vary quit a bit so a tool box approach might be a better choice. Miles
  5. http://www.chaosium.com/chaosium-free-downloads-center/?sort=featured&page=1 This is the Chaosium free download page, on it you will find pdf's for BRP quikstart, Magic World quikstart and a couple of Mythic Iceland adventures. If you need someting in print there are links on that page for printed copies for The Big Gold Book which is a large toolkit for running any genra of BRP games and Magic world which is a fantasy focused BRP rule set. I hope this helps. Miles I see you have the link to the quikstart rules. you can get them from Drivethru RPG I find its better to get pdf's from them than Chaosium. http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/82093/Basic-Roleplaying-Quickstart-Edition?term=BRP+qui
  6. I did a MTG flavored magic system for a fate game using the mana point system from the tool kit. I used aspects for what colors you were allied to, a Magic skill for casting and a tapping skill for generating mana. If I were to do this for BRP I would use the deep magic system from advanced sorcery. Just use the color wheel for the spheres of influece. I've always wanted to do a shard world ever since I read the Rogue Mistress adventure for Stormbringer. One of the worlds you go to was shard world, blasted apart in a great war. each shard had it's own nation and it's position on the plane was determined by it;s allegence to law or chaos. The more lawful you were the closer to the light at the core and the more chaotic you were pulled you to the outer darkness of oblivion. I thought it would make a great campaign world but my players thought it was too esoteric and prefered a more traditional fantasy world. But I would love to here more about this world your making so please continue.
  7. They need to open that Runequest box behind them and play a real rpg Miles
  8. http://www.printme1.com/ This is the site I use to have have printed copies of pdf's I own. It's inexpensive and fast service. Ive used them for books I can't buy hardcopies of anymore. Miles
  9. Dresdon Files or similar urban fantasy setting but with d100 rules instead of fate. I love fate but d100 would work better for me with this setting. Miles
  10. This is on my wish list. My wife and I have based our SCA persona's in this time period. Mine from Strathclyde and hers from Da'l Riata. I have many books on this time and place, I could always use a few more Miles
  11. Yeah, the only thing I can find about bloodlines in the book was A Dominate Bloodline sorcery spell on page 52. Miles
  12. Batman and the other characters from the Dark Knight movies. BRP would be perfect for this style of superhero. Miles
  13. There's a copy for sale used on amazon.com for $7.99 plus most of the supplements. http://www.amazon.com/Elric-Fantasy-Roleplaying-Young-Kingdoms/dp/0933635982/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1416441590&sr=8-2&keywords=elric+rpg Miles
  14. I would also recommend Crucible of the Dragons from d101, its for openquest2 but would be easy to run with any d100 rule set. Miles
  15. What your looking for is Magic World and the supplement Advanced Sorcery. Magic world is the Elric/Stormbringer 5 rules with all the Morcock stuff removed, and advanced sorcery is all the stuff from the bronze grimoir and the unknown east books.you can check the magic world area for more info this book. I think you would like it Ben did a good job putting this together so you don't have to pick through the BGB to run a simple fantasy game. The character generation is simple and fast, the the basic magic system in the main book is very easy to run. The advanced sorcery book is just more options for spell casters that you can pick and choose what you want to add to your game. I hope this was helpful for you, if you have any questions don't be afraid to ask. You have more luck starting a thread in the magic world area if this seems like something might like. Miles
  16. I agree, I really liked that book. I think Mongoose will be sticking with the Arcania line of books, which I also like. Just my guess since I have no inside info. There is an old thread on their forums. http://forum.mongoosepublishing.com/viewtopic.php?f=79&t=50757. They put together a bunch of player built spells that's pretty extensive. Some are OK but some are pretty good. Miles
  17. You could use the alleigence system to reflect your ego level. Just make a list of things that would lower or raise your score based on how you roleplay your character. Miles
  18. My copy arrived safe and sound Monday, it looks good so if there iS a mistake on the cover I'm OK with it. Sorry for jumping the gun on buying this book, but I was a bit excited . Its a great book I highly recommend picking this up if your looking for campaign like the old Griffin Mountain. Its not as detailed but that just leaves you with more room to make it your own. So this is a feature not a flaw for me. But there is still a lot of information in which to build a long campaign on. I'm very happy with Crucible of the Dragons, and cannot wait to run a campaign with it. Miles
  19. Does this mean my order won't go through? Drive thru sent me a confirmation email. Oh well Ill have to wait and see Miles
  20. Just ordered my copy, $25 for PDF and soft cover is a good deal. Thanks d101. Miles
  21. The only thing you would have to change is the stat vs. stat spells to dodge.persistance and resistance skills. Other than that your good to go. You don't even have to worry about hit locations either since Magic World uses the Major wound s table as well. Miles
  22. There was a monograph called Rubble and Ruin that was post apocalypse, was that any good? Miles
  23. Yup in my perfect gamer world there is always a full size book for home and a digest size book for my game bag plus pdf. for my tablet. All of these will be released on the same day with a GM screen for those who need them. Maybe some supplements to be released in the next few months. Maybe if I can recruit more gamers who spend more money this could happen. But these guys do an amazing job with the small budgets that they have and i'm very happy with what they have been producing. My thanks and respect for everyone who has contributed to d100 game past, presant and future. Miles
  24. Your repost ruling is essentially the same as the Magic World repost on page 63. So it must work, I think I'll start using in my OQ2 games. Miles
  25. Hmm, maybe I won't be picking that up. I was hoping for a nice small travel version of the game like Legend. Oh well I suppose some one will find this useful. I'm still looking forward to Savage North and Here be Dragons tho. Miles
