    Pavis!

That's what I thought I was talking about. The Trollkin Watch, Mani's Fort and Real City belong to Pavis and can still fulfil their duties under the new administration. once the Zebra Purge happens, the Pavis Royal Guard can still perform its original ceremonial duties, but with new Zebra folk loyal to Argrath. It depends how they play it, really. If they say "We were here before the Lunars came and are here after the Lunars left, we serve Pavis" then people might react well to them. The Trollkin Watch might have a problem, as they were introduced under the Lunars, I think. The Pavis Royal Guard was very close to the Lunars, so they would need to be purged and replaced with good Zebra Riders. But, yes, those who went to bed with the Lunars would find themselves dead by the morning.
  2. As this is a new thread, just about Spoilers, we can post whatever we want, can't we? In my opinion, Spoilers should definitely be used for fairly new material, especially when Scenarios are concerned. What is difficult for us oldies is where someone who has just bought the RQ Classic material to run for their new gaming group of Gloranthan Newbies, and expects Spoilers around things from Scenarios that have been discussed for nearly 40 years. I can't put Spoilers around every single thing from every single Scenario, or from every bit of information gleaned from nearly 40 years of Gloranthan usage. So, Bill, I feel your pain, I really do. But, for some of us, some things are ages old. I'ts like putting a Spoiler around "Luke, I am your father".
  3. Again, ha, ha, ha, ha! It's canon now for many people. If Chaosium produce something based on the same material that differs greatly from yours, I would be surprised.
  4. I would say so, yes. You can point to an illustration of a weapon and show Players what it looks like, rather than explaining it. Want to know what a dagger-axe looks like? No problem, go to Page 49. Want to compare spears? Page 55. Swords? Pages 56 and 57.
  5. Normally, yes. Alternatively, if the Character sheet has a section for Hit Points by Location, with a number, I just cross that out in pencil and write the current number of HPs and erase it when I change it. Some people like little humanoid charts with D20 Location/AP/HP and a box for the current HPs.
  6. The Lunars are fine with that. They can hire the Sun Domers out, as they accept Lunar gold. At the end of the day, they can send some Yelm Imperator nobles to the Sun Domers and make them kneel, if they need to. In my last Gloranthan Campaign, the Red Emperor visited the Praxian sun County and made a big show of displaying his "I am Emperor! I am Yelm" credentials to bully them into submission. That split them from Elmal, where Elmal was strong. They have always been pro-Solar, because they are part of the Solar Pantheon. Dara Happa is at the top of that structure and sun Domers know this, accept it and also, to a certain extent resent it. Count Solanthos has a habit of duelling Dara Happan Nobles, i.e. Yelm Cultists, to the death, probably for the same reason.

    Pavis!

None of those is really allied with the Lunars, with the possible exception of the Zebra riders, but they could be replaced by the Pavis Royal Guard. I would think that many of the organisations of Pavis are loyal to Pavis and tolerated the Lunars. When the Lunars leave, they are still under the control of Pavis and serve whoever is in charge, in this case Argrath.
  8. I would say the opposite. it is for beginners, as it approaches a lot of topics in a very straightforward, easy way. It is big, so maybe that is off-putting. I skipped through it at Dragonmeet and posted a short video of me doing so, on Facebook. Have a look at the Glorantha fans or RuneQuest pages for a copy. I have copied and pasted the Table of Contents, in case that is useful. Basically, it goes into detail about the Armies of Dragon Pass, with descriptions and illustrations of each Army Unit. That could be invaluable for GMs and those who want to get to grips with the forces of the area. It has a Unit Card for many of the Units, which is good for using them in battles. So, if you want to know the relative strength of the Colymar to the Carmanian Queen's Regiment, you just need to compare the Unit Cards. It goes into armour and weapons in a ridiculous amount of detail that is fascinating to read. It even goes into Magical Warfare and the effects of runes on the battlefield, something which, to my knowledge, has never been covered before. Overall, it is an easy to read, clean and beautiful book. I have only skipped through it, as for me it isn't the "sit down and read it from cover to cover" kind of book, instead it's something you can dip into time and time again. Wasn't there another one set in the Soviet Union? I think she got around a bit.

So, the stereotypical film SS Colonel is fine then? "I have to say, it gives me no pleasure to do this, but I must".
  13. Yes, thanks, that was new news on Wednesday, but I saw them on Thursday, so now they are old news.
  14. Not really. Non-stackable just means that the spell doesn't stack with itself. Shield is stackable as you can get shield 2, Shield 8 or whatever. Berserker is non-stackable, because casting Berserker 2 on yourself has no effect whatsoever. However, Berserker can be used with Extension to make it last longer.
  15. What I do is to have a box beside the Hit Location and keep track of the Current Hit Points. So, the box might have 6 HP and i keep track by writing 4, 2, -3, 1, 6, crossing out, or erasing, the previous value. Some people have a hit Point Tracker, so they have 10 09 08 07 06 05 04 03 02 01 and 00, then mark off where they are. this has several disadvantages for me: It takes up far too much space It doesn't cope with PC with more than 10 HPs It doesn't handle negative values very well Generally, you use either Location Hit Points or Major Wounds. I can't see much point using both together, unless you use a system such as Legend, Mythras or Revolution D100. Personally, I never really liked the idea of rolling where a wound happened only if it's a Major Wound, it just feels wrong to me.
  16. For me, adding the Mythos to anything has never improved that thing.
  17. I think a lot of the RPG material for Call of Cthulhu, although loosely based on Lovecraft's works, is very much a Chaosium IP and not in the public domain. The stories may well be and they can be used, but i'd be careful about the creatures, Mythos and so on.
  18. Having her blood-red would be spectacular. Ehilm was the Malkioni sun power, not a god as such, more of a concept. Yelm seems to have taken on much of this, from what I read years ago.

Yelm the Youth, Yelm the Rider, Yelm the Emperor or Yelm the Elder? It matters not. But, they weren't, they are clearly the children of Yelm. Now, some might say that Yamsur is a sun God and, therefore, just another version of Yelm, But I don't think that kind of thing really works. Yamsur was the sun god of Genert's Garden, the Warming Sun, the Growing Sun, the Sun as Genert's Brother. Yelm was the high sun, the Lofty Sun, the Emperor and looked down on the likes of Genert.
  20. I can proofread and write, but finding time to write anything but my own stuff is a struggle. I am happy to collaborate with more creative types.
  21. I thought the Pegasus being in the Gateway Bestiary, but it isn't. Hippogrif stats would work, with hoof rather than claw. In the Real World, of course, they are the Tulpari, or Winged Horses, of Turkic/Mongol/Steppe Nomad Lore, of which Pegasus is but a single example.

That was funny, but was it 5x Funny?
  23. Looks great and has a lot of stuff on the Kickstarter Page. However, from reading it, I still have absolutely no idea what it actually does. I seem to be able to sign up for a certain period, what does that give me? What happens after that period expires? Do I have to pay further? What does signing up give me? What tools does it have that I can't do in excel or Google Sheets? I am confused.

Weren't they both children of Yelm?
  25. A friend of a friend had a baby without knowing she was pregnant. She was having a bath, go these terrible cramps and ended giving birth within a few minutes. She didn;t know she was pregnant, her family didn't know she was pregnant and nobody else knew. A couple of years later, she did much the same again. She didn't know she was pregnant the second time, either. I told a couple of pregnant friends about the friend of a friend and they looked at me as though I was insane. So, pregnancy can affect different people in different ways.
