  1. And here you can read a review: Just use the translation gadget on the right margin, scrolling down https://elruneblog.blogspot.com/2015/09/resena-de-mediterraneo-mitico.html
  2. Perhaps the thing with all actual play videos is that often too much time is spent on actions that happen exactly in the same way as in every other RPG, so they don't come as useful or interesting for people who have already played the game.
  3. Exactly, it's always the other culture who's doing it wrong. We worship and get our spells and blessings, so we're doing it right. Those people over there, bah, those barbarians don't know anything... Every culture's Orlanth cult is different and works just fine for them!
  4. Yes. But Orlanth does not mind. :-)
  5. Two things IMHO: 1. I think it's ridiculous for a sorcerer to learn Disruption ONLY to be able to get a POW increase. I mean, what rationale does that have in-character? IMG, sorcerers will get POW increases just for doing sorcerous things. 2. Orlanthi initiates can't learn sorcery. But that only applies to Orlanthi initiates from cultures such as the Sartarite, Esrolian, Tarshite or Praxian. The Aeolians are a different bunch of people, who believe casting sorcery and whorshipping rune-related gods is OK, so for them that prohibition does not apply.
  6. I don't think so. Al-Waha means "oasis" in Arabic, so I think the Arabic origin of this name makes more sense. :-) The Shan-Shan mountains is another case, since "shan" means mountain in Chinese (if I'm not mistaken). There may be other Gloranthan names like this...
  7. Me too! And wouldn't it be awesome, a GTA game based on Pavis City? With the different street gangs, the corrupt lunars, and you as a Lanbril initiate, doing second-story jobs and stealing mounts to sell them to a fencer in Badside!
  8. Thank you! I'll have a look. I don't mind adapting many details as long as the scenario is cool. In fact, the boy is already betrothed to one of his uncle's daughters. BTW the uncle has only daughters, no heir. However, - the Uncle regent has recently found a concubine. What if she gets pregnant and she has a boy? Temptations...? - being a spoiled child, perhaps the teenage liege lord insists on marrying another girl. What then? I'm also looking forward to introducing some negotiations with the Portuguese. Perhaps before their enemies do the same.
  9. Takeda Shingen is already causing trouble to the PCs! 😁. In fact, last session ended when the army of Suruga repelled a Takeda army planning to attack Shinano from the south after first crossing into the northern mountains of Suruga. Takeda tried to convince the PCs their ally in Shinano is far less convenient than having him as an ally, but they decided to go for the honourable option, and honour their alliance with the daimyo of southern Shinano by stopping Takeda's army. They released a river they had dammed well in advance in preparation for Takeda's incursion, and now the enemy troops are fleeing in disarray. What would you do if you were Takeda? I think he's going to retreat as fast as he can, as he has obviously subestimated his enemy, and even if his troops outnumber the local forces, they are in mountainous territory and it's too easy for the local samurai to ambush them. He is then going to offer a non-agression treaty and focus on invading Shinano from the east. ----------- However, some years later, he might have conquered all of Shinano. And then he may be tempted to crush those pesky samurai who thwarted his plan. So thanks a lot for your suggestion. How would you then plan that mission?
  10. Hi, I'm out of ideas (and time) for the next session of my samurai campaign. Since I have been using many details from Pendragon for my own samurai game (such as the Book of the Manor supplement), and the Samurai book is eventually coming up, I thought of asking here to seek help. The PCs in my pseudo-historic campaign in Suruga (1550 AD) have achieved the hatamoto level, meaning they are sort of elevated bodyguards of their liege lord. Problem is, their liege lord is a spoiled teenager and his half uncle is governing the province until he comes of age. Meanwhile, the PCs have brokered a 12-year truce with their neighbouring and more powerful enemies from Sagami: the Ishizaki. Both provinces are using the time to rebuild their provinces (after several disasters) and arming themselves, in preparation for the day the truce ends, the hostages go back to their homelands, and the battle commences. - Do you know of any Pendragon scenario focused on courtly intrigue I could adapt to this? My only idea for next session is to somehow combine negotiations with the jesuits in order to get saltpeter from the Portuguese (and thus blackpowder), while having to care for their spoiled teenage liege lord. Perhaps he insists on attending the negotiations and he jeopardises the operation with his comments. Is there any scenario (for whatever ruleset, actually, that fits this set-up?). - I've been eyeing the Prince Valiant episode book. Does it include any scenario that might be suitable? Thanks in advance!
  11. Griffin Mountain is so far the best sandbox for Glorantha. But I wish there were more. I think the West Marches concept suits the rediscovery of Charg pretty well. A land that's been completely isolated for centuries. Suddenly, someone finds a way to sneak in! Obviously, a group of daring explorers is needed! :-)
  12. IMHO, the Red Goddess is an illusion. She manages to dodge the Compromise because she exists and at the same time she does not. That's what her cycles mean (Full Moon = Full existence, New Moon = non-existence). That's why she's illuminated and that's why Chaos is necessary for her.
  13. Fortunately, giants seldom use swords or axes because no one forges oversized weapons for them! By the way, I'll houserule that Fireblade just adds 1D6 fire damage to an edged weapon. Otherwise, it has ridiculous effects, like casting Fireblade on a dagger axe means a dagger axe wreathed in magical flames inflicts exactly the same amount of damage as a normal dagger axe!
  14. Some upcoming books were revealed by Jason Durall at The Kraken convention 2018: read it here. Later on Jason posted an even longer list on Facebook, months ago. You can read it below, but remember to use the translation gadget: News for RuneQuest Glorantha (half way down the page). :-)
  15. I've added the information, but I've kept my own opinion. :-)
  16. If you want to run games in Glorantha, RQG is the easiest.
  17. OK, thanks for clarifying this. I'll edit the review with this information.
  18. Yes, I had also understood it the same as you, but some discussions in other forums showed to me years ago that other people had understood it differently (only affecting females), and this time I was glad to see they hadn't left room for misinterpreting this. :-)
  19. Don't worry, there is no right or wrong Glorantha. Seriously! And remembering all the clans and tribes is by no means necessary. If I were you, I would: - Start by running any of the published scenarios, like the GM Screen Pack, the RQ Quickstart, Borderlands, etc. - Play the videogame King of Dragon Pass to get ideas of scenes that happen in the Orlanthi clan life.
  20. Read it here: https://elruneblog.blogspot.com/2019/02/review-of-runequest-glorantha-bestiary.html
  21. I've only played a trickster in a game of about six hours. I didn't do anything big, but the other players were terrified every time I smirked.
  22. Although Chaosium's Fan Material Policy does not allow kickstarters, their Commercial License does, and I bet they would grant it to you. If you don't dare publish the book in physical format due to the involved costs, I suggest selling the PDF. I would buy it. It's an incredible resource for GMs, if only to show the pictures to the players during games.
  23. I think you may like the new RQG rules... I like this! Good idea. Mmmhm. Don't you think the dinosaur may resent more the impaled Great Sword than the impaled Short Sword? Also, according to your house rules a short spear does 1D8+1 damage but 1D10 when thrown? Cool! Your encumbrance rules look unnecessary to me, though.
