It is correct that the french Hero Wars book contained the english Hero Wars AND Narrators Book. The french Glorantha book was a translation of Peter Metcalfes Glorantha MANUSCRIPT, not of the edited book that was published in english. The french version phrases some things differently AND has some paragraphs MORE in it then the english Hero Wars book (for instance the Mostali Heresies, and some Troll Gods descriptions). I know that because the german edition is a mix of the english and french edition (translating the english version of the text, but adding the stuff that appeared only in the french edition).

Have a look at the 24 BRP Monographs that were published from 2008 to 2012. IMHO, books like these 24 BRP Monographs should be able be republished (if the authors are still interested in BRP) with an SRD as they are. The question is: Could these books be republished as they are, or would the authors have to spend more time and work to make them work with the new SRD? If yes: Great! In no: I would rework the SRD so they could.

Will the fighting power of a Brithini knight be mentioned? Arkat (35 year old soldier in the Brithini army) was present when only a few Brithini "knights" danced through the Seshnelan army, killing a LOT of them (according to the version of Arkat-Saga, i know).

Why would someone try to clone an already existing game that is perfect (KAP)? I acknowledge that TDMs Mythic Britain is a different kind of Arthurian game, not trying to copy KAP at all. If you want the more romantic Malory approach: Play KAP!

One last addition from me about this topic: Is the Guide to Glorantha expensive? Yes, it is, BUT it is worth every single penny i have payed for it. I expect the same from the Cults of Glorantha set of books. Chaosium has never me never disappointed since 2015. "In Chaosium i trust!"

Printing one big hardcover book is cheaper than printing multiple smaller hardcover books. Adding a few more pages to a hardcover makes it more expensive, but not as much as splitting the book into multiple volumes (at some point you HAVE TO split a book into multiple volumes, otherwise you can´t handle the book anymore... so two volumes are good). And more volumes mean more coverartwork to pay for, too.

This is RuneQuest, not Shadowrun! 😉

The original question was "Just how expansive will the Gods Of Glorantha guide be?". The Guide to Glorantha has 800 pages and costs about $ 169,99 (~ $ 0,21 per page) The Smoking Ruins has 192 pages and will cost about $ 37,95 (~ $ 0,19 per page) If The Cults of Glorantha will end up about 600 pages, with ~ $ 0,20 per page, i assume the price will be about $ 120,00. It depends how much the artwork will cost them, and if it will be just two books, or two books in a slipcase.

We had a long Cthulhu session on the weekend march 6th to 8th. It was a blast. Since then: Children at home, my wife has home office, my work will be closed from tomorrow onwards. For me Illumination has something in commen with science. If you live in Glorantha, where everything is about myth, and you see the patterns behind these myth, rather to follow the stories, then you become something like the first natural scientists of Earth: Galileo, Newton... There comes a moment you see behind all these myth and stories and see the pattern, and from there is no way back. You always will see the patters besides or instead of the myths. That makes you a very lonely being: because with your understanding of the world you are outside of the group you were raised. You can still follow the way of Orlanth, Ernalda, Humakt, ... but with your understanding you don´t belive in them anymore, you use the patterns for which they stand for your own interests.

My approach: If you eat a relative (like the Uz do), then it is ritually, and you just eat his mortal remains. His spirit/soul lives on (goes to the afterlife/is reborn, whatever). If you eat a dead person, because it is vital for survival, it is the same. If you eat a dead person (or even worse, a person you killed yourself just to be able to eat his body!), you damage his spirit/souls journey to the afterlife.
