  1. Perhaps, but if you look carefully, you'll notice that the first section is essentially Chaosium game discussions, save for the subform for 13th Age Glorantha in the Glorantha section. Other games come below; Mythras, Renaissance, and Revolution for example.. SDLeary
  2. This sounds interesting! Love to see how you flesh this out! A few years ago I was thinking of going the other way... RQ3 sorcery as base magic for both sorcerers and shaman. SDLeary
  3. Sweet! I'll be looking for that Chapter when the book comes out! ๐Ÿ˜‰ SDLeary
  4. Another option... Roll a Special Effect or two into the Combat Style description... This is what you learned to do with these weapons. If they would like to learn more, have them spend some amount of advancement to acquire. SDLeary
  5. Not to mention that if you are half-swording, that you have significantly better leverage to punch through target... presumably resulting (if successful) in something that would be called an Impale in game terms. SDLeary
  6. Hey there! This really doesn't involve the character sheet, but I was looking at the Players Map included in the 5.2 file. Regarding Rheged... Its spelled Rhegep on the map; or is that supposed to be a Thorn, that was simply edited wrong (I have seen the kingdom spelled Rhegeรพ)? SDLeary
  7. Hmmm.... I'm more inclined to think in this fashion... Weaponthane is landed, Housecarl is an unlanded household retainer. Though, I will admit to not having paid much attention to how this is used in Gloranthan sources. SDLeary
  8. And "Don't Lose Your Head" during the climactic phase! ๐Ÿ˜‰ SDLeary
  9. Not really a problem if you remember to do a clean install every 5k miles! ๐Ÿ˜‰ SDLeary
  10. NT4 was my preferred version. XP was also good, but had to go with the more classic look. Hated the default color choice. SDLeary
  11. It really depends upon how quickly you want to have corruption occur, and how much you want to potentially suppress the use of magic. Both those options are viable. In my idea above, you could also say that the corruption score increases by 2 if the corruption roll is a critical. SDLeary
  12. No, its the RQ3 one. 10 ranks, ranks run over to the next round if you add up to more than 10, etc. Its in the 4 page Option spread on pp.198-201. This box also talks about splitting attack and parry into separate skills. SDLeary
  13. I hope you have a large SSD on that Surface! (is there a method for this?... newer hardware, old OS with no drivers). I understand the issue though. I'm a Close Combat fan, and have to fire up Parallels and Windows each time I want to play! SDLeary
  14. Why not have them "check" corruption when the offending magic is used. At the end of the session, adventure, campaign, your choice of interval, they roll to see if the corruption increases; if they MAKE the roll, it increases, if the FAIL the roll it doesn't increase. This would mean that there would still be a chance that they could potentially avoid additional corruption, but would also increase the likely-hood of falling down the rabbit hole the more corrupt they become. Because likely-hood of corruption would increase as usage progressed, I would also start it at a lower value, say 10. SDLeary
  15. The Strike Rank system is included in the BGB as an option. Parries are as Stormbringer 5e, with multiples allowed at cumulative โ€“30% (easy to house rule). SDLeary
  16. Hence stating "for the most part". SDLeary
  17. The old 32-bit version? You might never get it to run native. You might need to try an emulator. SDLeary
  18. This, though this can be assembled from the BGB for the most part. SDLeary
  19. No, as RQ3 had no Charisma, only Appearance . POW contained many aspects that have now migrated back to Charisma. SDLeary

    Movement Rate

This. Test it out, you don't even need access to armor. Wrist and ankle weights, perhaps a weight vest as well. As others have said, its not that you can't be as fast, its that you take longer to get to speed, and can't maintain it for as long. As for the issue of MOV in the game, the people that I've always gamed with have considered this not so much "how fast can you move?", but more "how fast can you move and maintain situational awareness. To that, and with what Womble said above, there should probably be a DEX (or Strike Rank) penalty and fatigue component to armor wear. The fatigue component wouldn't have to be anywhere as fiddly as RQ3, just something simple as a roll of some type after exertion, as determined by the GM. SDLeary
  21. Perhaps the cap can be based on CHA. 1/3 to 1/2 CHA for instance. With the possibility of exceeding this in play by questing, physical or hero, or just playing it out. Character convincing and barganing with the Spirit, Shaman, or Priest. SDLeary
  22. Not in Rome itself, Odoacer was <air quotes>"Governor"</air quotes> on behalf of Zeno. So Loyalty would probably be to Zeno, or who ever they heard the last Emperor was. Could be fun to have some merchants come in and burst a PC's bubble telling them the Emperor was gone. SDLeary
  23. Not to mention, a ton of effort for (what I believe) is a single individual, for little to no gain, and probably a loss. After all, how do you make a small fortune in RPG's? ๐Ÿ˜‰ SDLeary
