  1. I am looking forward to Jackals as well as well as the setting book.
  2. I am just speaking for myself but I think Magic World's rules, for what it's trying to accomplish are already superior to 7E CoC. I wouldn't do a thing.
  3. It's really a good scenario. I think I am going to try and run it for one of my groups! Highly recommended!
  4. One problem with the name is that’s it’s a hard to search for it on Google. You get a million irrelevant hits.
  5. Magic World is my favorite game and has excellent rules but the name, production values and lack of promotion doomed it.
  6. Hey Chris when you get a chance let us know how useful the book would be to Magic World GMs, please...
  7. You mean converting Magic World into Call of Cthulhu 7E rules? Or maybe converting BRP rules from the big gold book(BGB) into Call of Cthulhu? I don't own 7E CoC but I think the changes are pretty minor. The first notable change would be to take the Magic World or BGB stats and multiply them times 5. Another change is to remember to add disadvantages to a Magic World or BGB skill roll using a separate penalty dice instead of just subtracting a value from the skill roll. Not clear on how penalty dice work exactly so I can't explain it further. I don't think there is a document on this site explaining what you have to do to convert from BGB or Magic World to CoC but there might be a document on how to convert 6E CoC to 7E and that would get you most of the way there.
  8. Well I have a low magic campaign that's sword and sorcery and then of course their is Stormbringer, Hawkmoon and Elric of Melnibone.
  9. So I preface this by saying that I know nearly nothing about RuneQuest. Are the spells in the red book and the doom book demarcated by tribe or by God? It it envisioned that any sorcerer could have a large number of these spells or it it meant to limit the sorcerer / cleric to just the spells of a certain tribe, cult, religion?
  10. Excuse the dumb question but I don't have Pulp Cthulhu. Is the Shadow character above able to do all the mental things the Shadow is associated with or just read minds? How many mental disciplines are there with Cthulhu Pulp?
  11. Tell Me Have You See the Yellow Sign is considered by a lot of people as one of the great CoC scenarios out there. And Kross is right - Golden Goblin did update and reprint it. Highly recommended!
  12. You guys may remember Toxandria, the first game to use Chaosium's new open license for BRP. I purchased a PDF copy a while back ago and was suitably impressed I will now be buying a hard copy. You can find it here -> https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/321297/Toxandria?term=toxandria
  13. 22 short auto usually refers to a semiautomatic pistol that fires the smallest possible cartridge the 22 short which is about half the size of a 22 long. Unless you work in meat processing and are planning on shooting cattle in the head at point blank range I can’t think of a worse gun for self defense
  14. The Unspeakable Oath issue 18 has an excellent history of the Chapel of Contemplation that you might be interested in. It’s available on drivethrurpg
  15. Thank you sir. From reading reviews and such I think I am aware of most of the differences between BRP and Mythras so I don't expect any problems. Also I have RQ6 that I can reference as needed (which is the immediate predeccesor to Mythras).
  16. I might be able to help playtest but I haven't used Mythras before. I am however experienced with BRP and D100. When would the games be?
  17. Yeah Loz's and Pete's take at Rune Magic can be found on page 77 of Elric of Melnibone 2nd Edition. A very quick comparison between it and what's in Advanced Sorcery suggest to me that they are different. For example the runes are different and in AS they have to be inscribed on something.
  18. No, I’m referring to Pete’ and Loz's creation that was to a large amount meant to replace demon summoning if I’m remembering right. This was in the Mongoose book. Maybe it made it’s way to Advanced Sorcery.
  19. There is also a good rune magic system in Elric of Melnibone though it is very specific to Strombringer.
  20. Sorry Simlasa! I was hoping to run it this weekend if we can get enough players. Looks fun though we might have to pulp are normal rules up a bit.
  21. What a comprehensive answer! Thank you! I am thinking of using MW with heroic hit points and maybe some form of luck points.
  22. I am planning on picking this up but two questions. Just how gonzo is it and can you give examples? Also how hard would it be to run this in Magic World or straight BRP?
  23. Could have been revised to address errata?
  24. There is quite a lot of old scifi stuff for Chaosium. Here is a list made in 2016, notable changes from then is that M-Space and the M-Space Companion are now a thing. Also Worlds Beyond is about to be reprinted and Worlds Beyond is a thing now.
