  1. I made some major updates to the new RuneQuest section of the initial post, reflecting the news about the way the books will be released
  2. Great that we finally have a clear, new name for the new RuneQuest, so that we can be clear what version we're talking about - RQG.
  3. Ok, so the four books previously described won't be released all at once. Initially we'll get rules and bestiary (which is cool with me, since I was a little concerned about how long it would take to get four books ready to publish at the same time). Makes sense. Then later a scenarios book, GM book and Dragon Pass campaign (the latter two having previously been described as part of the main four), Hero's book, cults book and so forth - all sounds great! What's the Hero's book exactly? I don't remember this being mentioned before, since the rules for heroes and heroquests were said to be in the GM's book.
  4. The D101 Glorantha Adventures 1: New Beginnings? That's for HQ2, and the HQ:G ruleset is identical apart from what happens when dice rolls are tied, so there shouldn't be any inaccuracies in the book that would affect using HQ:G. When this question came up before not too long ago, the New Beginnings book was a recommended one. Also Chasing Kites from the old HeroQuest: Roleplaying in Glorantha (HQ1) rulebook. Also Return to Apple Lane.
  5. I know what you're saying, but there's plenty of nuts and bolts in HQ:G and its associated supplements. It's not all about world-changing myth-makers. Sure, it's easier to setup a game for that sort of thing when compared to RQ, but HQ:G contains a lot of very useful intro to Glorantha stuff, and the recent HQ:G supplements are chock-full of stuff about daily life in Dragon Pass, Pavis and so forth.
  6. All apart from the last one, which is Ian Cooper's. I would guess at the seventh being another RQ book - possibly the quickstart book.
  7. Yes, current editions of the Stafford Library PDFs are fully searchable.
  8. If you go back a year and a half then probably only the new thing for HQ published since then was The Coming Storm. And that was at the top of the list. Given that Big Rubble is near the bottom of the list, I wouldn't hold your breath.
  9. Yes, there is potato in Glorantha. See Pavis: Gateway to Adventure, in the cult write-up of Yelmalio (p382): There are several mentions of potato bread in the same book, and also in the HeroQuest: Glorantha core rules. Don't forget that the Guide to Glorantha is a 30,000 feet view of Glorantha, as has been said by Jeff and others. Just because it's not mentioned in the Guide, doesn't mean that it doesn't exist.
  10. Just to add to the original question - since HQ is a very rules-lite system, it will be pretty easier to convert any of the new RQ stuff to HQ. So the gaming future for HQ in Glorantha is very bright.
  11. Yes, Dan McCluskey is working on a new, 3-volume, HQ-based Trollpack. See the sticky post for more details, i.e.: Trollpack vol 1 ("troll info and adventures for humans")Trollpack vol 2 ("everything you need to run troll PCs in a trollish setting with a campaign based around trollish clan life")Trollpack vol 3 ("covering Dagori Inkarth with a full description of Redstone, and takes the campaign literally from 'tussle over a cave' into creative heroquesting, PC heroes stomping around like a chit in the DP wargame, and climaxes with one of the defining magical events of the Hero Wars")
  12. Yeah there are plenty of upcoming HQ publications for Glorantha. Take a look at the "Upcoming Glorantha publications" sticky. Out of that, as I understand it the following are all HQ-based pubs - The Eleven Lights, Notchet guidebook, Casino Town/Holy Country book, Trollpack, Riders of the Storm, Sun County (not sure about this one). Also, although the Glorantha sourcebook is part of the 13th Age releases, it's totally system free and is basically a big book of myths. So don't worry, there's plenty of stuff in progress for HQ:G.
  13. Is the Dark Eater the same entity as the Black Eater mentioned in Trollpak? Then it goes on to describe the Trollkin curse.
  14. Are they from the forthcoming Sun County revamp?
  15. @David Scott I think that @AkhĂ´rahil was asking about the Masks of Pavis/Legacy of Pavis/etc books specifically, he already mentioned the Tradetalk issues being at DTRPG.
  16. Even though HeroQuest: Glorantha is a rulebook for said game, because it's a narrative ruleset rather than crunchy, it makes a superb intro to Glorantha and is chock-full of background.
  17. Send an email to editor@tradetalk.de
  18. Simon - wow, your campaign sounds amazing. Fantastic work!
  19. Indeed, but that's still quite a few intelligent animals out there, no? Some interesting scenario possibilities.
  20. And like all animals in Glorantha, a proportion of them are sentient (intelligent and can talk)?
  21. If I'm understanding David correctly, then when he said earlier " Morokanth raid and hunt for meat for the Herd men", I took that to mean that the Herd men won't normally be eating Herd man, they'll normally be eating bison, cows, or whatever it is that their Morokanth masters have raided. Only in dire need will they be fed Herd man.
  22. Same as any other carnivorous animal - their instinct won't be to start eating other fellow members of their species unless they are genuinely starving to death.
