  1. I have to disagree. I ran it many years ago, the players were low rune level, and it was easily the most memorable adventure of the campaign. But everyone's style is different, of course. Responding to the original post, the scenario is combat-oriented of course. If you want to increase the role-playing, you might modify or expand the second stage, when the characters are wandering about the cradle.

  3. Yes. You can only have one allied spirit, but you can have bound spirits up to your CHA limit.

  5. I think it depends. In the "real" Glorantha, I would say no, they can only be blocked by mystic defenses (or a power learned on a heroquest). Neither is totally unbalancing since they both require a Pow v. Pow roll.

  7. I would not recalculate hit points, since they haven't made a permanent change to his body (even with extension, the arms are still a temporary reality). In other words, I would just add hit locations for two news arms with the same hit points as his regular arms. (And hits against the arms could disable the arms but would not count against total hit points. And would bleed green smoke, but that's just me). In terms of hit locations, I can't think of any 4-armed, two legged creatures, but you could make it 1-4/5-8/9-10/11/12-13/14-15/16-17/18-19/20 on the logic that the extra arms would help block hits to the abdomen and head. If that is too unbalancing, I would just take the extra points from the legs (1-3/4-6/7-9/10/11-12/13-14/15-16/17-18/19-20). And yes, he could certainly train in skills with the new arms (although probably not through training with a teacher).

Given that Nose Lopers is another name for cave trolls, I speculate that a tribe of Praxian pygmies tamed some cave trolls during the great darkness and rode them into battle (like Master Blaster in Mad Max). That explains how they could join the Two Legged Alliance. They were easy to keep fed during the Darkness, but died off at the dawn because cave trolls can't tolerate sunlight. Or should this go in the "Your Dumbest Theories" section?
  13. This is interesting. In previous editions, I allowed one "wish" per DI (so no "heal me AND teleport me"). But following the example in the current rules, I would allow a generalized "help me" request for DI. But that puts the player at the GM's mercy (heh, heh). Thanks, David.

  17. Some very wise advice (from Shadowrun, I think) is that if you give something stats, your player characters will kill it. So I wouldn't give Jar-Eel stats unless you are prepared to risk her dying (flukes happen). Otherwise, if you have access the old Dorastor book, one of the "specials" could be reskinned. They would be even tougher in RQG.

  21. In my Glorantha, any of the hsunchen can theoretically become were-creatures by being tainted with chaos. This happens most often with tiger hsunchen who become man-eaters but you also find wereboars (from Ramalia) and probably others. But Telmori are the only hsunchen who became were-creatures as a group. YGMV.
