  1. Fact is many fantasy races take a huge suspension of disbelief. How about a gnome warrior in other games who is about the size of a three year old yet can fight off a human? Or the fact Elves some how don't reach adulthood until a 100+ years. Are they slow learners or just major slackers?
  2. When the Seas where closed I expect there was a bit of travel across Pent and Prax between Kralorea and the Holy country Dragon pass and Darra happa .The native of Prax may not be welcomed as tourist in Kralorea but Gold for silk , spices and other goods is always welcome . And if not legal by Kralorean law , well that what smugglers are for.
  3. Issaries bred mules so they can tell the Nomads that they are not horses and tell Horse tribesman they are horse kin, if I remember right. I think Donkeys and burros would be OK in Prax . The only Horse like animal I understand that found in large number in Prax is the Ass, plenty of which can be found in the Sable tribe.
  4. Also with the opening of the seas and founding of Corflu goods from the Eastern Islands and Pamalt can be found in Pavis to be taken by Caravan to the Lunar Heartland. I know it might be cheaper to get them by way of the Holy Country, but that depends on how friendly the Holy Country is at the moment. A Argan Argar merchant trading from the Shadow Dances to the jungle trolls in Pamalt might be able to make a tidy profit once he found out what each side wanted from the other.
  5. Its less then a week from Pol Joni lands to Pavis, far shorter then the cattle drive I the Old west when they drove cattle from South Texas to Dodge city. But I think many people would buy bison and sable to avoid the hassle the Nomads would give them.
  6. One thing to keep in mind is Glorantha is a magical world and ask how does magic effect trade? Spells cam be used to keep food fresh , to grow food out of season or even transport items long distances , if there enough gold to be made. No one going to transport corn on a lunar boat or similar flying craft, But a load of spices from the Eastern islands to Glamour might make a nice profit.
  7. Stormbringer was fun on several level and I missd a few things that where not carried over to later editions. First where the four virtues for those that followed Law. Not as powerful as having a Demon but still very useful. I also liked the Demon of desire and demon of knowledge. Neither would fight at all but having one demon that would answer question for you(even if not all that honest) and another that would fulfill your desires was nice.
  8. It was a Runequest sorcery spell if I remember right. And the Malkoni have a strict moral code so I could see them using it to punish the guilty. But you could also use it against unarmored or lightly armored monsters like a horde of trollkin.
  9. There was no such thing as play balance in the first Edition of Stormbringer. I still have my copy , although it is falling apart. It had the worst balance of any BRP game system . Some one with sorcery was way more powerful then some one who did not. And when rolling for your country of origin, if you got Melibone you hit the jackpot as you got an extra 1d10 power and I believe an extra 1d6 int.
  10. Elric /Stormbringer uses the Sorcery magic system from the BRP books.. In the Mongoose rune spell book magic book there a spell that pelts people with rocks.. There was one rock per intensity level and each rock did 1d4 damage armor protecting against damage.

Then perhaps they are betting at running through bad terrain . Running through areas of dense brush and swamps

I for one do not like the idea of Vegan Morocanth . I mean why keep herdman if you don't have to? And grass is low in nutrients and most herbivores need to spend a lot of time grazing. I could see them being able to eat plants that humans get no nourishment from and eating less meat then humans but vegan Morocanth is to me a big NO

Might point out if you are thinking of a human/herdman pulled chariot similar to the Asian Rickshaw, The Rickshaw was invented in Japan only AFTER the invention of the modern Ball Bearing and was used only where there was good roads. Mostali might understand how to use ball bearing in wheels but I don't think anyone one else would have a clue.
  14. As far as Muriah there a few things about her that I find interesting. First she is sterile. Now since Broo can mate with both male and female , young and old and even plants and the fertility of their targets most of the time does not seem to matter, How come not with Muriah? And you can bet almost all the male Broo tried and many several times to get her pregnant. Also some of Muriah broos where mated pairs/couple if I remember right. Which seem to go against normal Broo practice. The second she was illuminated by her parents. Now how do two dirt farmers in the River of Cradles know anything about illumination? For the second I had an idea. After the fall of the Bright Empire a number of Illuminati fled to the River of Cradles and hid among the Dirt farmers to save their lives.. Although the normal peasant could have pointed out the strangers, no one ask them or gave them a second look. . And for generations the Illuminati lived on the edges of these villages secretly passing on their knowledge to their childern while remaining hidden.. Of course it could have jut been a passing Lunar going down river, but secret cults are more fun.
  15. Might also mention Armorcast has the Old Lance and laser line with plenty of Gloranthan figures, even if they did change the name of the figures. http://www.armorcast.com/miniatures/lance-laser
  16. One thing I have always wondered about was female broo.. Granted only about 15% of all Broo are female but how do they breed? Can they mate with anything and do they suffer Broo Birth? And do male Broo have taboos against raping female Broo. I tend to think there is some taboo against raping female Broo or none would live past a year. Also what would happen if one of the more intelligent Broo leader started a breeding program where he bred a Broo with a human and then bred the broo that resulted with another human and so forth for a few generations?
  17. Others that would work for Glorantha are Rapier Miniatures for ducks and scorpion men. http://www.rapierminiatures.co.uk/page/Range/28mm_Beastmen.html Ironwind ( Better known for their battletech line)has Bison and Rhino riders . They also have dinosaurs useable for Bolo lizards but don't know where you can get riders( 20 mm Barbarians?) http://ironwindmetals.com/store/index.php?cPath=265_304&osCsid=672t08ncnan68gtco0i56b9e32 Irregular miniatures in their animal section has Ostrich and gazelle , which might be OK for impala riders. But again you are going to have to find figures for the riders. http://www.irregularminiatures.co.uk/index.html Somebody else had bison riders but don't remember who.
  18. If I remember the story right. The owners of an old and long out of business miniature company called Archive miniatures came up with two figures called Barbarian Duck and his old lady as a novelty item. This was BEFORE Runequest. The owners of Archive miniatures where friends with Greg Stafford and co and for fun decided to come up with a way to add the Ducks to Glorantha so people could use the minitiarure . I used to own a number of Archive miniatures as they where the original Glorantha miniatures.
  19. Can Run Cthulhu and company against them. Then I always wanted to play Godzilla versus Cthulhu.
  20. Speaking of playing Monsters, Has anyone besides me ever played Monsters!!Monsters!! ? For those who live in isolation its based on Tunnels and Trolls and you get to play a Monster picked at random. First time I played we got two monsters and I drew a Goblin(Great biggest wimp in game) and a Basilisk. So I put the Basilisk in a bag and had the Goblin wander around with the bag and when ever some human guards showed up the goblin would sit down and whimper , Its mine , its mine don't take my precious. And of course when the Guards grabbed the bag and looked inside...
  21. Might point out just because a monster is not automatically evil, does not mean its not a bad guy. Take humans for example.. Humans are not considered evil in most games, but if a bunch of Viking Raiders show up to pillage and party in the players village without an invite. the players might not welcome them with open arms.
  22. I kind of like that idea of Monster wanting be left alone and live in Peace. One of the reason Ebberron isone of my favorite fantasy worlds is it has Orc Farmers who are just interested in getting their crop in and raising their children in peace. But lets look at the Medusas and how to have fun with that legend. According to some legends Medusa was a beautiful Maiden who was raped by Poseidon in a Temple of Athena. And instead of kicking Poseidon butt for being a low life thug, Athena decided to punish the victim and turned Medusa into a monster.. So perhaps the Medusas in your world could be suffering a similar unjust curse and the players meet one who just wants the curse removed and enlist the players aid.
  23. Forgot me, we where both drunk in Vegas, but then then that marriage did not last long.
  24. If an Air worshipper can call on the power to help his sword skill , I take other worshippers can do the same, a Darkness worshipper call upon his Rune to help his mace skill etc
  25. Another place players might try to hole up in( At least I would) would be a Colonial or Civil war era fort.. Europe little better as they have real Castle. I have always wondered why no one ever hides out in Dover Castle in England during a disaster movie.. I believe Fort Raleigh on Roanoke Island has a rebuilt wooden Stockade I believe from the pictures I seen and being on an island might be a pretty good place to stay once you clear the Island. Fort Macon Is an Old brick and Mortar fort from the Civil Wa Years ago I remember in an other wise forgotten game supplement in an apocalypse world where the bad guys converted one of those mega dump trucks used in the coal mines into a battlewagon.
