  1. When I used these rules in my samurai campaign, my players complained they were not suited for skirmishes with 20-30 warriors on each side, and I had to agree, as many of the battle effects and damage were awkward for such small units. Nowadays, I would let the players influence the skirmish with their Battle / S&S skill and then solve the battle with just one roll based on the skill and numbers of the participants.
  2. There is another scenario very much set in "Gringle's time" and that is... Gringle's Pawnshop! Just 4$! ๐Ÿ˜€
  3. What does this mean, exactly? How do they increase the level of success?
  4. Does Narres really have 1,400 L? Isn't it too much?
  5. Lovely interview! I hope the RuneQuest GM Book includes tips on how to play with multiple rune lords and rune ladies in a campaign. ๐Ÿ˜„
  6. Can you hallucinate people you know and ask them questions? ๐Ÿ˜
  7. In a case where combatant A (110% skill) and combatant B (92% skill): What if B rolls a 91 and A rolls a 90? When A adds 10 to his roll, does he get a fumble?
  8. Thank you! I was wondering how they worked as bodyguards with the curse, but this solves it.
  9. The Sartar Player's Primer, although it is set in 1621 or so. And the What the Priest Says and What my father told me for the Orlanthi.
  10. I think this is covered in the Q&A for RuneQuest in Spirit Combat under "Combatants (page 366)". https://wellofdaliath.chaosium.com/home/catalogue/publishers/chaosium/runequest-roleplaying-in-glorantha-players-book-print/cha4028-runequest-roleplaying-in-glorantha-qa-by-chapter/cha4028-runequest-roleplaying-in-glorantha-chapter-16-spiritsโ€…-the-spirit-world/#Spirit-Combat
  11. I hope he can one day get to run a QuestWorlds campaign in Glorantha to his friends, as he is clearly passionate about the setting!
  12. Thanks, I had missed that. I have only quickly checked the Lunar magic section in the HQ Pavis book. Perhaps the Red Goddess cult description in the RQG Cults Book will also specify this then.
  13. I guess the cost of learning the spell is included because someone who knows Bladesharp-6 will be much more difficult to find than someone who just knows Bladesharp-1, and so she can charge you more.
  14. In RQ2 it is unclear to me, but in RQ3, inside the Glowline the phase of the moon was always Full Moon. However, in The Guide and HeroQuest books this was changed to Half-Full, as is now the case in RQG. But, why was it changed? A friend of mine is very pro-Lunar, and he often complains how the Lunars have been "massively nerfed" in the current edition in his opinion. ๐Ÿ˜€ He also whines about the Madness spell being now a 2-point Rune spell, since it was a 1-point spell in RQ3 (although it was originally a 2-point spell in RQ2!). But his "complaint" about the new Glowline reaches its zenith with the Cyclical Characteristic Rune spell in The Red Book of Magic. According to its description, characters who use this spell within the Glowline do not experience any beneficial effect! This seems counterintuitive. It would be much more powerful if the phase of the moon within the Glowline was always Full Moon. What do you think? Is this spell meant to be used only outside the Glowline?
  15. She's a super heroquester, so she must have repeatedly heroquested to the Hill of Gold as Zorak Zoran to steal the Fire from Yelmalio (for example). OTOH, she also looks like the representations of Arachne Solara...
  16. Another idea: Both the Grazelander and the Orlanthi are competing for the hand of the Ernaldan. There are mythical reasons for it, as both Yelm and Orlanth competed for her. Also, both the Grazelander and Orlanthi families would benefit from such a marriage, but she is to choose her groom after he has properly shown his value, and has forced both to swear they won't harm each other no matter how. The Ernaldan is thus the leader of the party, and they go on missions where the Yelmite and the Orlanthi are always trying to outdo the other. The Praxian is her bodyguard since the Siege of Nochet.
  17. I guess this is really the curse of Gbaji. At first, the promise of fully transforming into four-legged Telmori (wolves) on every Wild Day must have seemed like a gift to them, but it was actually a curse because it forces the Telmori to become murderous killing machines, and therefore hated wherever they go. On page 255 of Sartar: Kingdom of Heroes, it also says wolf companions become two-legged Telmori on Wild Days (!). I guess the Telmori Royal Guard lock themselves in on the eve of Wild Day.
  18. Stellar appearance of Gooseberry in 00:17:35 ๐Ÿ˜† Great roleplaying and the faces of the players when "The Thing" starts talking! ๐Ÿคฃ
  19. There was a map in Sartar: Kingdom of Heroes, but it must have changed a bit by now, like Jonstown.
  20. Here's a review I wrote: Review of Brace Yourself! Combat Training Module ๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
  21. I'd say passions can also augment or decrease due to narrative reasons. For example, if the Varmandi burned your family's stead to the ground, the GM can tell you to increase your Hate Varmandi 60% passion by f.ex. +20% or 10+2D10%.
