  1. Taking the nerd-factor of members of this forum into account: I would say high! ... 😉
  2. Oracle

    Gargoyles

Also from the Glorantha Bestiary, p.53: p.119
  3. Why are Yanioth and Vostor more essential than the other adventurers. (I'm asking this in the context of the Quickstart adventure The Broken Tower, which may not be the scenario, that you have in mind ...)
  4. While we are talking about it: the MOL TRIBUTE is currently entering the port of Southampton ...
  5. Guide to Glorantha, p.322, top of right column: Guide to Glorantha, p.325, right column: So do these 'metallurgical secrets' include iron working? The first quote does hint into a different direction, but who knows ...
  6. No, really cruising. You can see it on @Andy Evans's picture above as well as here: Currently with a speed of 5.0 knots.
  7. No issue with that. I think, I was just extrapolating an idea, but what's more important is, that it appears at all - no matter in what format.
  8. In fact I think, this idea is really good. Maybe not so much because of the dynamic nature of Gloranthan mythology, but because of upcoming additions to the pantheons in new Gloranthan publications like Pavis or the Big Rubble of Trollpak or Fonrit ... you name it. This way you could keep all your cult descriptions in one place ... I loved the approach, when it was used for the Encyclopedia Harnica ...
  9. My understanding is, that the Mastery Rune is in fact a symbol for a crown, which from my point of view a quite good symbol for Mastery. So I tend to use still the letter W, but for me it's a crown symbol, not a latin letter.
  10. I think, there was a cookbook in the list of possible upcoming releases ...
  11. I don't see why they wouldn't exist... There's a decent (and increased, I imagine, after the Opening) trade around the world. All the nightshade-relatives have a place, I reckon, and would have been propagated widely. ... Regarding potatoes in Glorantha see this thread:
  12. I remember that somewhen since the Guide was released you've mentioned, that Gods of Glorantha would be worth another Kickstarter. Seeing these numbers I realize, that this might have been true. But in fact I'm happy you did it without a Kickstarter ... If it just would be available already ... 🤗
  13. And boom! Ninjaed again! 😋
  14. My personal reminiscence to Greg Stafford: As already mentioned in a previous post, I never had the honor and the pleasure to meet him in person, but nevertheless he had a great influence on my experiences as a tabletop roleplaying gamer (at least). I did own the King of Sartar already. (In fact in both versions, the original from 1992 as well as the reprint from 2015. Indeed I've bought the original version in the nineties of the previous century (this still sounds weird 🙂), but although I've found the basic concepts quite fascinating, I did not really get a firm grasp on the topics provided here or on Glorantha in general. Roughly 20 years later, in 2015 I returned after a long hiatus regarding roleplaying games. And this time I became hooked for sure! It started with the Guide to Glorantha and HeroQuest Glorantha and it did not stop since then. October last year I bought the print version The History of the Heortling Peoples and The Book of Heortling Mythology from Moon Design's Lulu store. Then I heard, that Greg Stafford died. And I decided, that my way to honour his memory would be to complete the printed version of the Stafford Library in my personal Glorantha library. In the next weeks I've ordered all the missing books/documents in batches of 2 or 3 items. Last Friday I've received the last package, and here it is: the whole Stafford Library in print Now the next challenge is to read all this Gloranthan stuff, and even more: understand it ... 😓🙂
  15. Indeed never seen that before (and in fact roughly 2 or 3 years ago I looked for something like that). The document properties say, that it has been created at 15th April 2018, so it relatively new, but not brand new. But the most important question is: how did you find it at all. I was not able to locate it on the Chaosium web site ...
  16. I don't think so. My current guess is that the second printing is part of the delivery containing the RuneQuest Slipcase Set (see this previous post). So similiar to the Bestiary the current estimation is early March 2019.
  17. My understanding so far is, that housecarls are weaponthanes, which are explicitly assigned to be part of the personal guard of a clan or tribe chief. Therefore I would go with your first interpretation:
  18. Does it? As far as I can say, subcults in HeroQuest provide Feats specific for this subcult. In RQG this is reflected by special Rune Spells provided by the subcult only. So it is not just the additional POW sacrifice, which raises the player character's Rune Point pool ... Or do I miss something else?
  19. Yes, I can testify for sure, that @jajagappa's approach works successfully ... at least for me 😉. Although I have to confess, that I may be a bit biased, because my main HeroQuest Glorantha experience stems from playing in his PbF campaign 😇. But as I said, it works for me. But a small warning here. This approach does not come for free. If you're coming from a simulationistic approach (like I did), and you are used to relay on the rules to tell you, what's happening, then it feels a bit awkward at the beginning, to use your own imagination for deciding, what the dice roll results mean. But over time you will find the flow, and it gives you much more freedom than other game systems.
  20. Not according to the (short) cult description of Orlanth in the core rule book RuneQuest - Roleplaying in Glorantha on p.301: 'No additional POW sacrifice is necessary.' does mean: same Rune Point pool (at Ieast I read the text this way ...)
  21. I think this view is way too much staying on the technical level. This is a narrative system! Yes, it is a tie, but I'm pretty sure for the narrative, the story, there would be quite a difference between a tie with both contestants on the Critical level and a tie on a Failure or even a tie with Fumbles. And you could use the numeric value as a hint for the intensity of whatever may happen during the tie ... But it's up to you, the GameMaster and the Players, what that means in your narrative ...
  22. The Quest of Eringulf Vanak Spear is an example in HeroQuest Glorantha (p.194).
  23. I think, this is not quite correct at least for the Mol Tribute, which is due the 24th in EG SCN. This seems to be a port in Egypt, so it is far from reaching Southhampton at this day. I'm not so sure regarding the Xin Los Angeles. It's due the 25th in Prince Rupert, Canada. If Longbeach, CA above does not mean Longbeach, Canada, but Long Beach, California, then this is not yet the end of the voyage too. For the Xin Chi Wan the due date of 16th is for Sydney, not Botany Bay, but I'm not sure, if that makes a big difference ...
  24. This scenario is part of the Sartar Companion, so you should already own it 😊.
