  1. Just being curious: What are the Western Novel fragments ... and where could you find them ...
  2. From the Glorantha Sourcebook, pp. 37/38:
  3. "Heroes on a Quest" "Heroes' Worlds" But paraphrasing @JonL here: I'm not in marketing (and that's for a reason )
  4. For example here: So my guess would be, that one of the "three loosely linked scenarios" is the aforementioned new Apple Lane scenario.
  5. According to @Jason Durall it will be part of the upcoming GM Pack: Which should be available until Gen Con in August, if I got that correct ...
  6. The HeroQuest 1 scenario Sheep, Clouds, Thunder from the Gathering Thunder module, which is volume 3 of the Sartar Rising campaign contains a description of Apple Lane after the Great Winter, i.e. under Lunar occupation. Not sure, if that is the scenario you thought of, but it gives definitely an impression of the hamlet during the Lunar occupation. But I'm also not sure, if this is still canon ... but the new Apple Lane scenario will shed some light on this question probably.
  7. They are part of the Runequest Classic Kickstarter - in fact, they are the next reward expected to appear, which means, they will also appear again on the Chaosium site. Not for free, but at least available. @Rick Meints: any news about the current state?
  8. I'm outright stunned! This is by far the most impressive, best depiction of Gloranthan beasts, that I have ever seen. It starts with the baboon, but it doesn't stop there. A Dragonewt with two klanths, a (Mistress?) troll bristeling with magic, a female duck ready to fight chaos - represented by the broo on the left side. A tusk rider and a scorpion man and ... and ... Even a Walktapus in the left background. All so lovingly detailed, including lots of rune tatoos (or other types of markings) - yes, this is obviously RuneQuest! I cannot wait to get my greedy hands on this Gloranthan Bestiary!
  9. Nice twist. I think, that is the first Humakti I've seen, which is not a dedicated fighter/killer ...
  10. No issue with that, but the original question was and the answer, that appeared in my mind immediately, was: because the context (i.e. the role) of the character demands it. But obviously (as this thread shows), there are other reasons too ...
  11. Hhm, in fact my first reaction to this question is, that RuneQuest Roleplaying in Glorantha is first and foremost a roleplaying game, so selecting weapons for a new character should not be driven by maximising the fighting impact, but by the role, that the new character should play, and if the weapon is suitable for that role, i.e. his cultural background, his cult, his personal history, etc. ...
  12. This entry seems to be a bit odd, especially with respect to the title of the thread ... 😉 My first thought was, that it should appear in this thread: But this thread does contain available HeroQuest (non-gloranthan) publications only, so it is not the correct thread too ... Seems we're missing a thread for upcoming (non-gloranthan) HeroQuest publications ... This one may be obsolete with the upcoming RuneQuest Bestiary ...
  13. Ah, I've missed the connection to the original question. But even so a HeroQuest (Glorantha) section in the new bestiary is not likely to appear. Maybe a sentence in every description, which simply states, if the abilities of the respective beast are Significant, Exceptional, or Legendary?
  14. Do you mean the Bestiary for RuneQuest Glorantha? Just ignore the RuneQuest stat blocks and use the descriptions. What else do you need for HeroQuest (Glorantha)?
  15. In fact I would like a version updateble with subsequent additions even for a printed hardcopy. That's one of the reasons, why I liked the Harnmaster/Harnworld ring folders so much ...
  16. In fact something in this direction does exist: p.11: there is a boxed text with the title: Been To Glorantha Before? This is a (quite high level) list of changes in comparison to previous versions of RuneQuest. p.432: the Conversion Guide Appendix. I give you, that this may not cover the level of detail, you would have expected, but as already mentioned in previous comments, a higher level of detail would be way to much effort in a book, that describes the current state of RuneQuest.
  17. Not sure, but I think this genealogy discussion is worth its own thread (at least if there is any form of continuation ... 😉)
  18. Today in the Glorantha Group on Google+:
  19. Naimless (in THE TRAVELS OF BITURIAN VAROSH) = Nameless (Sartar:Kingdom of Heroes) ?
  20. Adventurers chapter on p.23, first paragraph: "The imaginary personae created and controlled by players are called adventurers. Those used by the gamemaster are called non-player characters. When these rules mention adventurers, the same rules almost always apply equally to non-player characters. ..."
  21. p.14, end of first paragraph: Shouldn't that be "... is presented here ... " ?
  22. Same here. I'm just not sure, if this is intentional or a mistake ...
  23. Barbarian Town vs. Exile Stead In all new maps as well as in the section about the Prax Region the Pol-Joni town at the eastern side of the Stormwalk Mts. is called Barbarian town. But in the map depicting Vasana's journey on page 19 it is called Exile Stead. Long-time Glorantha fans will know, that both names are used for the same town, but people new to Glorantha may not get this. It's nowhere explained, and in fact in the map on page 19 Exile Stead is even located at a different place than Barbarian Town on the new maps (In fact according to all other existing maps, especially in the Argan Argar Atlas and in the Guide, the location of Barbarian Town at Sounder's River in the new maps is wrong).
